Sorry I will have to reject this, i think that zambrano could be a solid #2/3 starter in another team's rotation and our outfield is pretty set.Comment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
I haven't been far enough ahead to see if jhendricks was able to get to this or not, and unfortunately I had to do the real life thing... If I recall correctly, Shields is about to hit UFA, correct? I mean, Ilitch has the money regardless, so especially with Porcello down, I think I'd have to consider.
At the same time, I have to wonder why you would do this? The only for-sure MLB ready player is Porcello, and it looks like he is for sure having a down season. You have a 14 game lead with 58 to play, and you are moving both the frontrunner for MVP *and* Cy Young?
I do think the Tigers would do this trade, but for the sake of realism -- with the statistics you mention, I don't think this trade would materialize under the circumstances. You *wouldn't* be ripping off the CPU in this instance, so if you are trying to build a certain way or too worried about salary, you can feel solid about making the deal.
Sorry for the delay in the response to your offer, and I hope you appreciate the levity there with the "negotiation" idea here...

RE: Trade Talk
Currently Walker is hitting .224 with 2 HR and 12 RBI near the end of May, but has still been productive in the 2 hole and recently went 4-5, and has slowly started to look like himself again this past week. We would be interested in Castellanos (stats given earlier) and either Turner or Smyly. If you would be willing to give up both Castellanos and one of the 2 SP we could throw in a B prospect pitcher or 2. If you wouldn't, we have interest in Casey Crosby 3-6 5.02 ERA 39 K's 53.2 IP (AAA). We also have a high interest in Brennan Boesch .300 2 HR 10 RBI. Again, if Neil isn't enough we would be willing to throw in one of 2 of our prospects pitchers, with your choice of:
Nick Kingham - 20 yrs old B Pot (Class-A)
Kyle McPherson- 24 yrs old B Pot (AAA) 4-1 2.59 ERA 40 K's 23 BB's 60 IP
Aaron Pribanic - 25 yrs old C Pot (Class-A)
Please feel free to either decline or counter based on your team's current needs.

RE: Walker/Smyly Headlining Package
(ooc: I think force trades would have to be on, but honestly after thinking of a possible deal last night, I'm actually probably going to do this trade if it goes through in my actual franchise.)
Thank you for providing such detailed information, it is usually difficult for me as a representative to get to the office computer (and the PS3) around the same time because of commitments, so I usually don't propose the deals myself, but here is what I would propose as a solid offer:
Pirates Receive:
Drew Smyly - SP
Nick Castellanos - 3B (AA currently in my organization)
Tigers Receive:
Neil Walker - 2B
Nick Kingham - SP
---
If you are willing to accept this offer, you can consider it approved by Detroit Representatives.
Regards,
David Dombrowski (President and CEO, Detroit Tigers)Last edited by pokerplaya; 06-03-2012, 08:53 PM.I'm just an old guy sports gamer...Comment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
I don't remember if I had actually seen you post previously that you had wanted to represent, but when I saw your level of involvement, I had added you as a Pirates representative during the last update -- but if you think you can help and would be knowledgeable enough to represent, I would definitely switch you to the Rockies if you prefer and get at least one representative for that franchise,
It was a lot of reading last night, so sorry if I was presumptuous in thinking you were wanting to be a rep for the Pirates. Just let me know what you want to do and you can rep whichever immediately and I will make the switch in the next update.

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
From: Tigers
I honestly think the deal would only be made because of the statistics in your franchise for Pena. The Tigers still regret trading him, for one -- and as Porcello is still only 22, you'd be asking for basically the 3 best prospects in the organization including one who has been a rotation guy since he was 20... for a Shields rental when they are fighting for a wild card.
So, I think that would be a decline. Regardless, I don't think either of these deals would be proposed by either team in real life. If I was in your actual franchise situation representing the Tigers, I would accept the initial deal -- but unless Scott is also killing the world, I would decline the second.I'm just an old guy sports gamer...Comment

To: All GMs
From: Arizona Diamondbacks GM
Re: Joe Saunders, et. al.
It is the 1st of June, 2012 and the Arizona Diamondbacks are currently 4th in the NL West (only 4 games out) but we are interested in shopping Joe Saunders to some contenders to free up a spot in the rotation for Trevor Bauer.
Joe Saunder's is currently 2-5 with a 4.16 ERA. 34 K, 17 BB in 62.2 IP. Like most of our pitchers, he is not getting too much run support (all of our pitches put Ian Kennedy have losing records).
The Rangers, Angels, Indians, Red Sox, Yankees, Dodgers, Padres, Rockies, Cardinals, Reds, Nationals, Phillies, Marlins are all either leading their division or are within 3 games of the leader or wild card (at the time this was typed).
In addition to Saunders, any number of bullpen arms are available as are utility men Willie Bloomquist and John McDonald.
We are looking for infielders, either major league ready or decent prospects.Comment
