You guys had a surprising year last year with only being 7 games below .500 and i was wondering what it would take to pry singleton from you if at all. Everyone is available besides weaver, trout, pujols, trumbo.

We appreciate and are highly flattered by your interest in one of our players....However, we have no interest in trading him as we think highly enough of him to be our 1B of the future....Please don't hesistate to inquire about any other player(s) who may interest u

It's totally your choice, just let me know where you'd like to be and you're approved. I have tried to steer away from having one person representing multiple teams -- but just because we were filling the squads at a good rate and I figured it would save on confusion level later. If you were to stay with the Pirates, we still only have 3 franchises with no representation, so I don't think it will be very long before we've got every organization represented.

I'm just a guide, the people make their own choices in this project.
All right, just put me down for the Buccos then, I know their system a lot better than I know the Rockies. Appreciate the opportunity to help out.

Package 1 (My Franchise says you're searching for a RP, and a C)
        Johan Santana - SP (2-3, 6.07 ERA, 29Ks, 13 BB) $22 Mil/yr, 1 Yr remaining
        Josh Thole - C (.241 avg, 10 RBI, 1 HR, 0 SB, 27 H) $490K/yr, Final Yr
        Frank Francisco - RP (2-2, 6.61 ERA, 15Ks, 6 BB) $3.43Mil/Yr, 1 Yr remaining

        for

        Carlos Zambrano - SP (3-3, 5.16 ERA, 25Ks, 15BB) $3.59 Mil/yr, Final Year
        John Buck - C (.215 avg, 11 RBI, 4 HR, 0 SB, 26 H) $615K/yr, 1 yr remaining
        Mark Canha - 1B (.301 avg, 19 RBI, 6 HR, 1 SB, 37 H in AAA) $80K/Yr, Final Year

I use Jon Rauch as my Closer over Francisco so he is expendable. I prefer Bucks power over Thole's non-existance for me when I play the games lol. Power > average. And well I wanna dump Santana's salary...but I cant expect you to take Santana and Bay now can I?
Youre looking for a C and a RP...I'm looking for a C and a 1B (not sure why as none of my 1B are hurt lol)...The Marlins are all about it in the franchise FYI lol...but if I'm gonna do trades, from now on I am coming here first...My plan is to back Dickey up with Zambrano...a knuckler as my ace and a Venezuelan rage monster as the #2...we see nothing wrong with this. You're getting 6 years younger at catcher room for improvement for swingin me a little more power a couple more runs hopefully. You get Santana whos almost identical to Zambrano in this first season in my franchise...I'm getting 2 years younger and will resign Zambrano til the end of his career. I'm throwing my former closer to you (Just again I prefer Rauch) to add to your bullpen if you throw me a minor league 1B cuz for some reason we're looking for one? Sounded good tho...I wanna unload Duda, plan to resign Ike and **** (lol Allen Dykstra)

We would like to offer you the opportunity to get Jason Bay at a hell of a price...Bay for Prospect OF of your choosing. Only stipulation is we'd like a little speed in the basepaths. We figure with your short LF wall...Bay could explode. And was named player of the game in our last one against Toronto. 3-4, 1HR, 2 RBI in our 6-4 win...we're trying to climb back into the NL East chase, and well for the money we pay Bay, we'd like to take a little different approach

Forgive me if I'm way off here, did Matsui sign with the Astros in FunkDockta27's franchise? All that matters is the Astros in his franchise, right?

                              RE: We have a deal.

I would gladly take back D'Arnaud and add Raburn. I think "force trades" might be the only way to get this through the commissioners office, but I would do this deal gladly here in Detroit.

And, the pleasure is ours. This is what I have as a finalized proposal:

                              Detroit Receives:

                              2B Neil Walker
                              P Nick Kingham
                              SS Chase D'Arnaud

                              Pittsburgh Receives:

                              P Drew Smyly
                              3B Nick Castellanos
                              2B Ryan Raburn

If you agree, this would be considered a completed transaction, in my eyes. Thanks again for the ease in negotiations.

                              Best regards,

David Dombrowski (President and CEO, Detroit Tigers)

                              RE: Trade is Official

We officially made the trade a few days ago (in game) and I couldn't manage to add Raburn to the deal, so I simply just took Smyly and Castellanos and just signed Felipe Lopez to a 1 year deal. Unfortunately, we just drafted a 3rd baseman with A potential (so we now have 3. I guess that can be looked at as a good thing as well). Therefore we are heavily stacked at 3rd for now... A little off topic for a second I just wanted your advice as how you would handle Smyly. The Tigers had him in the MLB and he was 2-5 with a 4.50 ERA. I moved him down to AAA, but do you think I should keep him there all year, maybe call him up in Mid July or August, or have him play the entire year in the majors? I apologize that a good majority of this message was a off topic but I wanted to get your opinion considering you know the Tigers so well. Thanks!

If I had a real, alternate LHP option to put in his spot, I'd probably keep him in AAA. The Tigers don't, and he definitely is not a BAD option, even this early. I would definitely devote a training slot to Long Distance Running for your starters, he needs to improve on his stamina. He can give you five good innings though, so as long as you aren't relying on him to lead a rotation at this point -- you can feel fairly flexible with him.

In my franchise, if I was able to get this trade through -- I'd probably be slotting in Duane Below, as he's also left handed. I need at least one left handed starter... was going to sign Rich Harden in my FA pool but I really feel especially in game that I need at least one lefty starter.
