Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
Well, the poster in here earlier wanting to be the Rays is already banned. Usually, unless he met some type of profile, I don't think he would have gotten the second account banned yet, didn't see anything crazy that he posted yet... unless they just put two and two together and the guy joined yesterday and is already in the Arbitration Panel thread. I actually went and read the new banned guys posts and didn't see anything that was a bannable offense on its own, except for multi-accounting that they could prove (hence, IP checking or what I mentioned above.)
Doesn't really matter. As far as I'm concerned, the council as a whole could own the Rays, David Stern style and handle their inquiries for a while until we get someone we know is legitimate to take over the responsibilities.
Not derailing anymore with talk of the past, all else is grand here again.Steelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

so what if I (GM of the Astros and evidently temporarary part-GM of the Rays) wanted to make a trade with the Rays?...i can offer Carlos Lee for Longoria, Price and Hellickson and have the power to accept the trade? lol jk...i'd have no issues helping out with the Rays on a temporary basis...not like im getting much action on the Astros front lolComment

[b]RE: Cole Hamels
Thanks for your quick response. I understand your interest in Martin, but we view him as a fixture in our OF for years to come. I understand your interest in him, but for him to be included we'd need more than just Cole. I appreciate your opinion that he's a top 10 pitcher, but as he'll be 29 going into next season, I'm not sure I can agree that he's "entering his prime". He also had two surgeries this past offseason, so I need a little insurance if I'm going to send a package of prospects.
Olt is our 2nd highest rated prospect and since the Arizona Fall League last year has absolutely raked. His plus power, plus glove and plus arm make his ceiling very high indeed.
I can consider including Martin in a deal, but I'll need more in return than just one player if we're sending two of our very best and brightest prospects.
What do you think about this:
TEX Gets:
Cole Hamels
Sebastian Valle
PHI Gets:
Mike Olt
Leonys Martin
Cody Buckel
Buckel is a highly rated SP prospect that will begin the season in the Carolina league and expect to see move up to AA by mid-season. he was a 2nd round pick in 2010. Last season he thrived for Hickory, posting a 2.61 ERA with a sharp 120/27 K/BB in 97 innings, allowing just 83 hits.
Let me know what you think.

RE: Hamels
What is this? Stealing our all capital "the" now are you? I'm sorry, but we cannot and will not tolerate that, therefore we deny your offer. Just kidding! We GMs need to have some fun too don't we? Anyway, we very much like this deal. Even though we are high on Valle, the package we are getting in return is enough for us to give him up. Even though we disagree that Cole is not in his prime. If we continue to struggle throughout the first half of the year, feel free to make this trade sometime in July. If we are completely out of the race by then, you can consider this trade APPROVED by THE Philadelphia Phillies.
Respectfully,

Astros have no use for irrelevant veteran backup catchers lol.....all jokes aside, i dont see a problem in a collective group handling a team on a temporary basis...i see a few guys on here whose favorite team is the Rays....hopefully one will take over sooner or laterSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Project 2012
Love to see some good negotiations going on. Not that anyone's burning up my phone lines at the moment, but as a general heads up, this part of the Chicago Cubs organization and the council will be beaching it this weekend, heading out about noon eastern Thurs 7/5, expecting spotty internet coverage (if any) through the weekend. Should Scott's rosters drop and/or everybody wants to talk to the Cubbies all of a sudden, my better half (authentic) may be around or I'll surely be able to get to anything by late late Sunday, if not before (but no promises). Keep it real(ish)!Comment

Excellent, thanks. Thoroughly enjoyed this negotiation. You'll be happy with all 3 of the players you're getting in this deal.
Maybe you'll see Cole again in October!

To Jerry Dipoto
From Dayton Moore
Sorry its taken so long for me to get back to you but I had to personally see to a couple of players that my scouts are hot too for the upcoming draft. Now to get down to business. We wouldn't really be interested in the young players you spoke too as we are set at those positions for a long time we hope. As for what we would possibly be able to move, we think we might be priced out. We would scale back to just Haren and we would be willing to move Broxton, Cuthbert, and Colon. We understand if you believe you piece worth more than that but that would be our limit.

Re: Haren Trade
Dayton,
After thinking about it, and seeing you are now only interested in Haren. I have a counter offer. Reading you counter I'm very interested in your 3B Cuthbert. We decided to back off Braxton. So here's the offer;
Dan Haren
Tori Hunter
for
Jose Mijares (C Pot)
Stats - Majors- W1/L-0/SV-1/SO-14/ERA-1.80
Salvador Perez (A Pot) Class A
Cheslor Cuthbert (A Pot) Class A
Brett Winner (B Pot) Class A
We are really wanting to add Tori. Thought he can be helpful with all your youth in the clubhouse. Thought rather then looking at it as a whole. We thought Haren for 2 A's and Hunter for a B & a C. Please take your time.

Jerry Dipoto

Re : Trade Offer
Josh,
Good evening. We heard recently in the news you would be willing to move Justin Upton for the right price ( heard it in r/l). We wanted to give you a offer.
D-Backs Get
Dan Haren (A Pot)
Tori Hunter (A Pot)
Jean Segura (B Pot)
Angels Get
Joe Saunders (B Pot)
Justin Upton (A Pot)
Rossmel Perez (C Pot)
Stats as of 5/25/12
D-Backs and Rockies are tied for 1st in NL West Record - 28-17
Joe Saunders - W-1/L-5/ERA-4.21/AVGA-.297/GP-9
Justin Upton -AVG-.263/HR-12/SB-5/OBP-.333/G-43
Rossmel Perez - Currently in Class A
Angel currently in 1st .5 ahead of Rangers in AL West Record 27-19
Dan Haren - W-6/L-2/ERA-2.56AVGA-.255/GP-9
Tori Hunter - AVG-. 253/HR-8/SB-5/OBP-.260*
Jean Segura - AVG-.290/SB-5OBP-.346
*= unfortunately I'm a big strikeout artist with Hunter and even Pujols and any catcher of mine.
We feel Haren is worth at least 2 A's and possibly a B.
As with Hunter we see him worth a low B.
Segura is being thrown in cause we have signed Aybar to 5 more years. He's considered our top prospect now that Trout is with us. We also think he would benefit you in replacing Drew at SS.
Haren we feel would be very beneficial in helping your young staff along. Can also be a huge asset with your young phenom Trevor Bauer. Haren is also in the last year of his contract but is a proven ace on any staff in the major leagues.
Tori Hunter we feel can bring a huge veteran presence to a young locker room with playoff experience. He's a team player and willing to play any outfield position. He is also in the last year of his contract.
Any other info please feel free to ask.

Jerry Dipoto

Just a note; xboxxerx, I'm not trying to piggyback on your negotiations. Once again, sorry.
To: GM of the Arizona Diamondbacks

Subject: Justin Upton
Hi there,
We are interested in your player Justin Upton. We have been linked to him in the past, and feel he could fit in nicely in a number of ways. We also feel that we have quite the offer to present to you. Keep in mind, I am of the many that are waiting eagerly until 5 PM today when Scott's rosters come out. I won't have stats now, but I will later on tonight. Here is the package;
J.P. Arencibia; J.P. probably has the most raw power for a catcher in the league. He could take over for Montero should you let him walk (if you didn't update his contract), he can play first, and he's also dabbled in the outfield a tad, too. He's an exciting young catcher that's still growing. He has a lot of heart and he calls a great game, to go with throwing out most base stealers. He is an A rated prospect.
Anthony Gose Anthony is rated as the #7 outfield prospect in the league. He's stupid fast, can steal bases, has 20 HR power, and is a stellar fielder with great range and an amazing arm. He is an A rated prospect.
Adonys Cardona Adonys is a top rated pitcher in our organization. He has #3 pitcher potential. He is a pitcher that is very projectable. He is a B rated prospect.
FOR
Justin Upton
John McDonald
Your worst contract (your version of Alfonso Soriano)
