Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
Now that the franchise blog is out....
Will we be able to see a list of the top 50 prospects and see where they are ranked 1 through 50 or do we just get the icon?
With the new budget system, will we see teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers become small market teams after consecutive losing seasons?
Now that we have a new progression system, do the progression speeds vary from player to player? And if so, is this a viewable rating?Comment

There is no 1-50 ranking they are just ranked as the top 50.
The budgets are done on a bell curve, i.e. the Yankees will never have a payroll like the Padres. etc....Comment

On a serious note, the bell cruve thing is great because really, those big market cities are never going to cut salary. Hope the Blue Jays are Big Market now!!Comment

From the CD thread...
...Progression was reworked as well. Progression is not a straight linear path any longer and players will not continue to progress past their “peak” years(27-31). Although it is not linear A’s always progress as well as B’s.
The MLB ETA is a nice touch. I asked if they could add it to the player card after a player is drafted to see if they hit that mark, but there were memory limitations. I’m hoping next year this makes it in for the PS4....Comment

Ok so since the blog is out, can anyone from CD comment on the balance of budgets versus signing free agents during the offseason. Basically, are team budgets and players' salaries more in line?
My biggest gripe on Franchise is that I could go with the Braves, a mid-market team, and basically sign whomever I wanted.Comment

You have a shared payroll. So lets say the Braves start with 100million. If You only invest 5 million in all of your coaches and scouts(they will be bad) then you have 95 available for player payroll. If you are winning the budget goes up. if you lose the budget goes down.
I think the top tier players should demand a little more, but I feel the system as a whole is markedly better.
I took a team at one point that was small market and after renewals and arbitration could not sign any free agents because my budget was too tight.Comment

The budget system is different this year. I think there is a better balance, but the amount of money you have to spend will be determined by the amount you want to invest in coaches/scouts and also your success in your franchise.

I'm in 2016 off season and I have 36.5 million in money and 42.7 million in pending contracts with the Pirates.Comment
