One more Q for the CD guys regarding player progression - Do injuries have a effect on points gained and/or a player's timetable?

This is something we are asking for though, as well as a risk/reward system with prospects. Move them up too soon or keep them down too long and see their progression slowed.Comment

I'd love to see it in the future and will add this to the 2014 Wishlist thread when it opens.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 02-10-2013, 09:21 PM.Comment

I'm actually curious about the push/pull dynamics and was interested in whether it is a dynamic rating that adjusts to on-field performance. Or, if on-field performance ALWAYS reflects the rating.Comment

Maybe a dumb question here. And I'll use Jed Lowrie as an example here, when the game drops he is going to be with Houston and will have his portrait with the Astros, he has since been traded to Oakland and when they update rosters he will have an A's portrait. If I trade him back to Houston will the game recognize his original portrait with Houston? Can a player have more than one portrait within the game?Comment

I think I read that all the hats change for their new team in this years game. I hope anyways.

Using Lowrie as an example, the roster that ships with the game may have the Astros cap, but the release day downloadable roster will have the updated A's cap.
So in your franchise, it depends on which roster you start with... Disc based (default) roster = Astros default hat, release day or later roster = A's default hat. Also, playing any online mode (MLB Live), every player should have there own up-to-date current team photo.

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
I get the whole memory thing for continuous seasons/franchises, etc., but what about just during one season? Also, what I don't get is why they can't have certain info available with the push of a button. Meaning, if they can have screen popups that show the pitcher's last pitching performance, or a scroll that says, "[pitcher] has lost 3 consecutive starts", etc., then why can't they have that type of info available with the push of a button? Sometimes I miss the popup or scroll because I push a button, and I wish there was a way to go back and read it since that's the only place that info is available.
So have they really done no additions to in-game/in-season stats? That's disappointing.
One more question along these lines, in '12, it drove me crazy how certain screens would not show if a batter was lefthanded or righthanded. For example, when you push select and then scroll to your bullpen via the quick method, it would show the next three batters due up, but it wouldn't show if they were L/R. Only if you went into it the long way (i.e. the start button and then the menu) would it show you L/R at the bottom. (I think that's right - I don't have the game in front of me right now). Anyways, do you know if they updated this at all so that it always shows by any icon of the hitter whether he is L/R?
Thanks Knight!
What better way to evaluate baseball talent than stats. I guess I am a Kirk Gibson type of player. I would like to see more substance of what drives the game of baseball, stats.
What we have now is a pathetic box score, a mediocre game log, and almost zero tracking of year to year stats in franchise mode. On the plus side, the stat overlays have improved at a small incremental pace over the years.
Yes, I purchased the sabermetric stats to use (paying extra money for stats?), which is an online addition. Would it have been possible to use online servers, cloud etc. to upgrade the current stat franchise structure of The Show without compromising all the great additions SCEA has added?
I also love all the presentation, game play and fantastic baseball stadiums of the best sport game of its time, and understand everyone has a different perspective of what can be improved/added. In that vein I will try not to be 'that guy' who constantly harps on what aspect of the game they would like enhanced. I will be anxiously waiting for the PS4/The Show and hope for franchise statistical upgrades.Last edited by NAFBUC; 02-11-2013, 10:10 AM. Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
Does anyone know if there was any improvements made to player stamina which has always been one of the weaker areas of realism in my opinion
I just finished a short 14 game season and only had my opening day lineup together for 8 games due to various stamina related game time decisionsComment

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
I think the stamina system is perfectly fine. Just because all those meters are half full doesn't mean you actually need to sub the players out. Feel free to ignore it and play them out. The penalty is minimal, as it should be, and a day off will come eventually.Comment

I know this isn't realistic at all but do u think eventually we could see steroid integration in the game lol? I mean its still a problem, and I think that suspensions and stuff is one glaring void in the game. People like a rod are always being scrutinized in real life and in the game there is no such problem. It's a problem I can live with but that would b sooooo sick if they included it. Also create a stadium and uniform editor would b cool I'd love to create new alternates for different teams and stuffComment

Eventually I can see them implementing a random story line feature similar to how Outside of the Park operates, but we will have to wait for next generation for such pipe dreams ;-)Comment
