The game definitely feels a total package like nemesis mentioned in his impression. It's definitely the biggest leap I've seen in my tenure with the Show (MLB 10). Why don't people see it first before wishing for the future...
I think its because the wishlist threads are tucked away in a sub-forum with no notification of when they open up... I mean just look at the feedback thread for '13, 10 measly posts...

For those who have suggestions please use the SCEA feedback forum! Every suggestion made in there seems to have made its way into the game this year...

      The Show Fun Fact 1:

5 PCI choices this year: Reticule, Buckshot, classic, outline and wedge.

Reticule: ( ) This is the one we saw in one of the preview pics.

Buckshot: This is the PCI that was released last year.

Classic: The original PCI, the one we see in the swing analysis screen.

Outline: Has the shape of the original PCI but its outline consists of broken lines that make up the border. There is also a small yellowish circular graphic in the middle of it.

Wedge: This is probably the closest thing that resembles the upper end of the bat barrel but on a much bigger scale. Both ends are rounded in shape, the end furthest from the batter is larger and the end closest is smaller. There is also a small graphic in the middle.

All PCI's are yellow in color.

That... I don't even notice when they open, half the time. Plus the fact that they aren't open all year is a barrier in itself. If I notice something today (in '12) that should be fixed or could use improvement and the feedback thread doesn't open until like August... am I supposed to write all my thoughts on the wall of my bedroom or something, until the thread opens? Half the time by the time all these threads show up I've forgotten about most of the bigger things I may have had feedback on.

I'm not saying I have a better way, because I frankly don't... creativity is not really my thing.

This year was kinda weird, because one of OS news posts ("what i wish in MLB 13" or something like that) was taken as a sort of collective feedback thread. I remember for MLB 12 there were more threads open and quite active, partly because that was the year the new analog controls were introduced? I remember because I put in feedback like a madman back then.

The default setting of OS threads, that ones older than a month not being displayed, also make it hard for people to just notice threads randomly.

Unless it's a thread asked to opened by Ramone(or dev)....I don't think it's a true "wishlist" thread...more of a talk it out thread.

The "what's making it in" decisions are not late in the cycle....first couple of weeks.(after release...vacation....back to work...gameplan....BOOM.)

Yes sr. the feature set gets soft locked around late April and after May its locked nothing but cuts from them on. There is an extremely small window for feedback and I've said this many times. Wishlist threads are completely useless in their normal form.

Right, so basically even the "official" feedback threads, people need to understand that they really are putting in feedback not for the next year's game, but probably for the year after that...

no wonder none of my feedback ever made it in...

Oh...these things find their way in....but it's not DIRECTLY from the feedback threads as the timing of them is off like you stated.
But word gets to the devs somehow...

So the feedback thread for '13 was opened at the end of June... how big of a window are we talking about here? Wouldn't it be better to label it the MLB '14 feedback thread since there's a good chance none of what's posted in there makes it in the upcoming game? Or are we just talking about back of the box features?

It seems like everything I asked for made the cut (especially batted ball speed!) so I'm really confused right now lol

My question to mods/CD guys or whoever, is if there will be a feedback thread for this window made now that this is made clear? Or is it just business as usual?

Or is it still useless to do so at this point with that window coming up?

This is an issue and like others said it should probably be made clear what these threads are for as I was and always was confused on if any of that stuff was read or shown to devs and for what games.

For example this thread was made last may.

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ing-needs.html where I posted this in July. When these threads went up I didn't even remember posting this as it was like 6 months ago. There are things I wish I brought up for CD like the catcher animations which I posted in that thread. Looking back at what I posted its actually cool that the hitting tendencies and new commentator got in this year even though what I posted could never have had any bearing on that.

Like nomo said maybe some form of a clearly labeled official wishlist thread should be made so that things don't get so out of hand. Nomo is probably right that things here will get forgotten quickly until its too late to remember them.

So if I'm reading the stuff in the impressions correctly, outfielders won't run down everything? Or play very shallow and come in and catch for sure hits that are only about 30 ft out of the infield?

Just reviving posts from the first two pages since I'm not sure these will at least be answered:

Similarly the opposite effect for the User. Unrealistic to see Verlander crumble and unravel after a mistake pitch to Macier Izturis leads to an inning where the CPU doesn't let off until it scores 3 runs.

                            (2) Any improvements to balls hit (physics?) In the gaps? It felt like the field was too small and balls would be run down by the CPU too easily; where they casually would run down a gapper that stayed in air too long, or perfectly play the bounces making it hard to hit doubles or triples. CPU outfielders feel to smooth.

                            Thanks!
                            (1) I don't remember anyone talking about the confidence system. I wanted to show Brian@SCEA my signature "pitcher confidence/stamina is too strong (TM)" plot but unfortunately my time with him was too limited to get to it. I wanted to start shouting "THERE'S COMEBACK CODE IN THE GAME!! COMEBACK CODE!!" until Ramone brings in a security guard who drags me out of the building, just to get his opinion. Hope future attendees grill Brian on this point.

                            (2) Hit variety has been talked about.

In game save... no. The same way it has been.

Swinging timing feels the same, but the hitting timing window has gone through adjustment that you actually feel that you are swinging early. Not sure if that's a good thing.

CPU bullpen handling, I didn't test myself but there are feedback in the franchise thread.

The fast forward seems to be using the simulation engine, not the gameplay engine...

I believe there is the new baserunning scheme (controlling when to take off on a steal), which I failed to try myself at the event. I don't think it's full manual though.

That meant we had to determine pitch location way before we swung, which is awkward, quite difficult, and quite unrealistic.

-- Has the Batting AI been improved? Is the CPU more prone to chase pitches and stuff like that?

-- Can you bring to them the issue of errant pickoffs? I don't really have an issue with the number of errant pickoffs, but too many of them go in the stands. In real life, most of them do not. I'd like to see a higher proportion of pickoffs that are off to either side of the receiving fielder, or short... like a short hop or just a completely messed up throw. I'd also like to see an occasional errant throw that is still caught, be it off the intended base (eg the fielder runs or dives or jumps and catches it).

Just to make up a number here, if pickoffs in real life have a 25% chance of being errant, it seems like in The Show, all of those errant pickoffs end up in the stands, costing me 2 bases. That's a 25% chance of giving 2 free bases to a runner every time I attempt a pickoff, so it's a bigger issue than it seems, imo. I don't know what the actual percentage is but you get what I'm saying.
PCI gets locked in the moment you start your swing, just as in previous iterations.

I think batting AI has been improved... but that's a matter of opinion. Chasing I feel is definitely improved, but I cannot support with evidence (would be easy to do in CPU games given more time). I'm excited to see the change over a longer run.

I failed to bring the issue of errant pickoff throws at the event. Somebody else has?

The latter of course depends on fielder positioning, so depends.

But outfielders don't run down everything this year. Well they didn't as well in older games, but it's a matter of frequency... it's more realistic now.

Doubt this ever happens because if I were them I wouldn't want to slog through 100 pages of repetitiveness. That's why the feedback forum was created, and that's where suggestions should be posted.

However, I do think a dev or a mod should create a thread in the main forum when the feedback window opens up, with a link to the proper thread. People also need to make sure that they are following the instructions in the OP, I think the first one is to use the template or else they ignore your post, so yeah...
