The meter shows up as soon as you press the button so when you preload you will see the shift in the sweet spot immediately. The whole process is seamless and happens pretty quickly. The sweet spot is not going to be constantly changing on you during your button press. As with all throwing methods in the Show you are rewarded with the best animations when you preload.

When I tried, I think he was throwing knucklers mostly in high 70s.
That is good to hear. Pitch FX data shows he throws his at 77, but max 83. I'd probably say that is skewed too low however since he throws two types of knuckleballs. Pitch FX has all his knuckers as one type of pitch.

On the topic of knuckleballs, will we still see created pitchers with a knuckleball and 94+ mph fastball? This was an issue in the past that I can't remember if it ever got resolved.

This was gone... I believe in 12. Generated players have more sane pitch selections ever since.

Thanks. I haven't fired it up in a while and couldn't remember if I saw it in 12 or not.

I think someone mentioned this somewhere, but in terms of the generated players will there be limits to their pitches to keep them more sane. I'm a bit confused on how this was tweaked.

Like a max vel differential between a change up and fastball, or curveball and fastball. Similar to the knuckleball and fastball example (which I don't think I ever saw in 12 as well). But I did see huge differentials on breaking pitches and changeups to fastballs.

The kind often caused much grief... a knuckler with a 95 mph heater ... is long gone since 12. I personally haven't seen generated pitchers with crazy arsenal... but it might be just that I'm not discriminating enough....

Yeah, it was fairly rare to see, but once in a while I noticed a pitcher in the minors would have a 68 mph curveball and 95+ fastball. A bit unrealistic, but honestly after thinking about it, I think I'd actually like to see some crazy arsenals in the game. Its frustrating to see since it seems weird, but who knows maybe a prospect might come along with a 75 mph change and 98 mph fastball. Could happen, unlikely, but who knows.

Love what I've been hearing of pitch speed dropoff being addressed, I never actually thought of this for some reason, but it's a very welcome adjustment. All curve balls shouldn't be mid-upper 70s when sliders are in the upper 80s and heaters reaching mid 90s at times. Unless the pitcher is just special in that area, but this was generic ability for all pitchers in the game. I'm glad and surprised they've put large focus on that area,

I haven't gotten to read through this whole section yet, but I have one long standing issue that I hope has been addressed. It's in regard to pinch hitting. An easy example, when I need to take out a pitcher, there's no way to do this pre-emptively before I have to watch him stupidly walk up to the plate and then get bashed by the commentary for not knowing what I'm doing. So can I finally get a pinch hitter ready before his AB in the lineup is to come up. Thanks

I just read through Nomo17ks' last post on pitching in the community day invitee only thread and since he created a virtual Nomo to play with, I have to ask.... Does the forkball still behave like a changeup? Or has it been corrected to be the bigger/slower version of its brother (the splitter)?

                      Thanks!

How did balls hit up the middle look? One of the issues, at least to me, in the past was balls hit the middle being knocked down by the pitcher, no matter how good of a fielder he was. That, or the ball would simply bounce off the pitcher like a hockey puck off the goalie.

This is actually one thing I worry about with the new widened timing window. I worry it will lead back to where we were a couple years ago which is too many come backers right up the middle. I'm sure they are conscious of this though so we'll see how it plays out.

Actually quite the opposite has happened with the timing window adjustment. Play up the middle has been drastically reduced. In about 20-25 games played at the event I hit the pitcher only twice and large portion of the hits were either to the right or left side of the infield. Some hits did go through the middle but nothing what we experienced in the past. In 12 I thought hits were on the heavy side up the middle.

Just wondering if the questions on the first 14 pages were answered, or only the questions that were asked after the CD guys came back?

This is good to hear. I was worried the wide window would lead to more "perfect" timing and therefore more perfect up the middle hits. Sounds like they have taken this into account though!
