Yeah I believe it was him and Adam Dunn were the only two I've seen that had the shift on in 12.

Yes but there are only a couple player that it does it for automatically.

Not anymore all of the defensive auto shifts are set based on the type of hitter the player is. So if you have defensive shifts set to auto they will automatically shift when a push, pull, extreme push, or extreme pull hitter is at the plate.

This is crucial imo. "Pitching to contact" is a big part of my strategy, and I can't tell you how many times I've thrown a pitch, got the contact I wanted... and surprise! There's no fielder there!

And to piggyback off of that... Freeze or Russell... are there any visual notifications when a runner attempts to steal a base?

how about summing up what you got to know abt the vita version and how your impressions are after playing it? any major improvements you recognized from last years edition? asking for this since this thread is mostly about the show 13 for PS3 and its kind of hard to keep track of the infos concerning the vita.

this, freeze. it got a bit lost among the discussion concerning the donations( which you imo totally diserve, its not like anybody is forced)

Here you go:

I don't own a Vita and barely got the play last years version but I was very impressed playing this year's version. It felt a lot like the console version. I was playing at least a two week old build. There are some replays and celebrations and visual enhancements.

I had a chance to play the vita version and did not see replays. However I hit a home run and the player ran the bases. Also the game did not cut off at the end of the game and it had a much better flow then last year. The batter walk up is different and no frame stutter. I really liked the game flow and enjoyed playing the vita version better.

Yes, I believe Russell said there is something but I missed it the couple times I stole a base.

Definitely feel your pain. I also use the "pitch to contact" strategy as well and have been burned a few times. With these new tendencies, I will probably set the shifts up myself this year.

On the offensive side, I LOVE playing station to station ball so these new tendencies will become crucial when setting your lineup (depending on pitcher as well of course).

Going to be a fun year trying to neutralize hitters' tendencies this year.

I have 3 questions:

1- Is there going to be tipped strike three that is caught by the catcher? Should cut down on the 10 pitch at bat.

2- Is the pitch count going to appear in the new score banner at the top of the screen?

3- Have they finally added a confirmed strike call from the base umpires with less than 2 outs?
