Display should be 16:9 to see standings while on schedule screen if you're not using an HD TV. As for potential, it's probably being cropped out (possibly hard to see).Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
New to this forum and I have a few questions about the game...first, I've had every game and this one is freaking awesome!! I love it!
1) When using analog hitting, big hanging breaking balls are hard for me to hit. Actually, my hitter rarely even swings even though I pull back and then forward on the analog stick. Bad controller maybe? or is this a problem for other users? I've switched back to buttons for now, as Hall of Fame on analog is very frustrating not being able to hit the "hangers".
2) Are homeruns ever reviewed by umpires? And if so, am I missing them because I choose FASTPLAY? Which leads me to...
3) Am I missing any real gameplay features by choosing FASTPLAY? A friend of mine told me that FASTPLAY disables injuries amongst other things and I should choose full presentation...I don't care about the cut scenes, but I don't want to miss out important things either.
4) I pitch with analog, and I've noticed sometimes on stolen base attempts or when the mode switches to fielding, my catcher or fielder jumps because apparently I have pushed my analog stick. Does this happen to others? With my question 1) question, maybe it is my controller?
Thanks for any help!!! 22-20 with the Twins on HOF everythingComment

2. Yes homeruns are reviewed by umpires sometimes but I'm pretty sure they don't in fast play.
3. Your not missing much with fastplay on gameplay wise. You just miss some presentation things so no biggie.
4. You are most likely pressing the wrong button. The fielding controls are most likely on button throwing so press triangle when someone is trying to steal 2nd.
Hope I helped in some way!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
1 - What exactly are the differences between Rated and Exhibition online game modes? From The Show Nation:
Online Rated Match: This game is both RATED and RANKED
Online Exhibition Match: This game is RANKED
How do I check my rating/rank? I have played a handful of games from both Rated and Exhibition but only one game has shown up on my profile record. It shows stats for my the last 3 games I've played so I'm just trying to figure out which game mode between Rated and Exhibition is the one that "counts" or do both count? I'm at level 26 but I don't think your level has anything to do with it.
2 - I've been switching over to classic pitching because of the lag issues. As you know there are ways to throw a "perfect" pitch with the other pitching controls. For example, you'll throw a "perfect" pitch if you time the pitching meter correctly. Is the consensus for a "perfect" pitch when you let go of the button RIGHT before the controller rumbles?
3 - What are the difficulty settings for online matches via quick play? Is it more like FIFA or Madden?Last edited by JDK-OS; 06-30-2013, 12:39 PM.Comment

The user cannot determine their own release. Player attributes (amongs other factors) dictate the effectiveness of your pitch. The amount of time you hold X for impacts only your effort (think of the portion above the line with meter pitching). The longer you hold X, the more effort your pitcher will use. Vibration represents maximum effort.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Hey guys, I've got a tough discision to make. My next season in my Louisville Bats dynasty is right around the corner and I'll be playing it on MLB 12 with updated rosters as of the day before the season starts for me, or I can get MLB 13 for my birthday.
Graphically is there really much of a difference between the two years?
I know most of you are thinking 'well sht, if the game will be free for your birthday, just get the new one'. But I know for a fact I can have good rosters on 12' bc the vault is still open and I check it every day, and I really have no clue what will be on the vault for MLB 13 when it is time to start my next season.
Obviously I play with the minor league teams, so whatever the game does on the MLB level doesn't mean as much to me. It really comes down to having great graphics and superior minor league rosters.
Thoughts on what I should do? Get MLB 13 for my birthday, or stick with 12, which may get the job done just as good, and get something else I may need more for my birthday. I don't NEED the upgrade. 12 with updated rosters will be fine. But would it be worth me getting 13 as a better looking and playing game than 12?
Thanks guysCheck out my three critically acclaimed dynasties in the Dynasty HQ section:
Run For The Playoffs - A Louisville Bats AAA dynasty
Gimmie A Hell! Gimmie A Yeah! - This is Blue Mountain State Football.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Is it possible to still download the official opening day roster or any previous ones from April or May, as I just got the game?
Or is the most recent roster I am prompted to download at the start-up screen the only one available?Last edited by ProbieByKO; 07-01-2013, 01:21 PM.Detroit Red Wings

Its just how it is. Its bitter sweet to me. I like the regression system because it helps you strategize you team for younger players but they could tone it down a little. Its too much now but should get better in the upcoming Shows.Comment
