Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
Have seen it only once in the 5 + full games I've played since Friday (average playing time for each game is 2 1/2 hours) and my WiFi has been on the whole time. My PS3 Slim is 3 weeks old (500GB) and did the 10 GB Installation.God Bless The USAComment

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
So is it better to do the 5 or 10 GB installation? Have we come to a conclusion on that yet?Last edited by DELUS1ONAL; 04-04-2013, 12:02 AM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
Check earlier in the thread.
1) Put PS3 in safe mode and choose "restore system files", and then choose "restore PS3 database".
2) From the XMB, under network settings, make sure "media server connection" is DISABLED (it's enabled by default).
Those two things should help fix the issue. And as far as playing online, wired is a totally different experience than wireless when it comes to MLB.Comment

Currently playing Dodgers(me) vs TB @ Tropicana and I'm in the top of the 4th and it's happened 3 times already. Trying not to get to frustrated but it's starting to get somewhat annoying
Hope this helps. Thinking about uninstalling and starting from scratch

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
Had this problem on and off for some years with this game.
Ive had the stutter (always when the CPU pitcher is about to release the pitch) whether i am connected online or not, whether the media server is enabled or not, in virtually every MLB park, theres no correlation to it happening whatsoever as far as i can see. It also happens whether i rebuild the database or not, so literally, all these variables can be ruled out.
I dont get this issue with any other game ive had for years, it happened on my old FAT PS3, it happens on my new SLIM PS3, so again, it has to be a game issue, whether its coding that goes awry at a certain point or not i dont know, but its there, people arent lying about it.
All that said, ive only had it happen to me twice since playing 13, which isnt as often as 12 and especially 11, its not something im going to cry about, and it doesnt ruin my enjoyment of the game, i just live with it, SCEA may patch it, they may not, either way it wont diminish my love for the game or respect for them as a company, but yeah, it is there (for quite a lot of people it seems, not everyone) but its not the end of the world and the sun will still rise tomorrow morningComment

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
People keep saying its a issue with the game. How can that be, if only some people are getting the stutter. I was having this issue with MLB 11 and did the database rebuild and it completely went away after that and I did not see it at all in mlb 12. If it were an issue with the game wouldn't everyone see it. To me it must be something to do with fragmented files on the HD or some type of corrupt files. Like I said I was getting stutter issues in 11 and really noticed it on the startup screen (where homeplate gets sweeped) and after the database base rebuild it completely went away. So I ask again, how can this possibly be an in game issue? Only thing I can see would perhaps be a bad batch of disks.Comment

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
Could be the disc. I doubt it. All of us have rebuilt out database and All that. Still persists. It's a game thing that hasn't effected some.Comment

This might be reaching a bit but could it be something with our tv settings or even our PS3 settings?
I noticed my tv aspect ratio-settings was on Just Scan so I changed it to 16:9. Might not make a difference but I will give it a try
I'm just asking because I just started a game vs the Reds and for the first time I had to quit. It was the worst of any game I've played up to this point

Re: MLB The Show pitching stutter
With the game now on PSN I'll be interested to see whether those that play a PSN version (ie no disc reading going on) still experience the stutter. My hypothesis is that they won't, and that this issue is exclusive to people playing physical copies of the game.
For me, it always coincides with a weird noise that the PS3 makes, so I have to think it is some sort of accelerating or processing issue in the PS3 itself, since, you know, discs don't make noises.
It just so happens that The Show pushes the PS3 literally further than just about any other game on the market.Comment

I'll be downloading it from the PSN and since I've been reading so much about this, I'll definitely be posting my feedback on the topic.Comment
