Maybe it's a tv thing? Maybe it has to do with the refresh rate of certain monitors vs. others? Like 120+Hz has issues, but 60hz does not?

I just played my first game off the hard drive and had issues on a 60hz TV.

Played my first two games last night after downloading the game off of PSN with different teams in two different stadiums had saw about 3-4 stutters in both games. Choppiness is very noticeable during cut scenes as mentioned.

still no stutters for me. 1 game in KC as shields vs ??? (cant remember). 3 games in Chicago White Sox. Shields vs Sale, Guthrie vs Peavy. Santana vs ??? (again cant remember) the 3 in chi were franchise. 1 in kc was play now. Playing on a 1080P (gane in 720p) 60ghz acer monitor.

OK can someone with the stuttering and someone without test this for me.

Situation: Runner on 2nd (1st and 2nd as well), batting from catcher. Wrigley Field, day, partly cloudy. Lance Lynn pitching.

Diffuculty is All Star, default sliders, latest online roster update.

I have the digital version 1.10 patch installed

I am getting the brief stutter as the ball leaves the pitcher's hand in this situation on EVERY pitch.

I only got the stutter a few random times when in other situations.

I am curious as to how random this is and I am keeping detailed logs of when I see this. I'll post this once I get a few games in and maybe a pattern can be seen or maybe its just random. This is the first time I've noticed it happening in a sequence of pitches.

Tigers (user) v Indians
Masterson pitching for the Indians.

I encountered the stutter about every other pitch. It's very subtle, and those saying they don't get it probably just don't notice. When you play the show since 08 you get a good feeling for how smooth to expect pitchers deliveries and this is not it. Going on what others have said it might be happening on breaking pitches. Also it happened with and without runners on base.

It's really easy to describe as its a 1/4 second pause or stutter just as the ball is leaving the pitchers hand. Really messes up your timing...

If you can try and do it with Starlin Castro at 2nd. For some reason when he is on second I noticed more pitches stuttering.

But when someone else was on 2nd there was not as much, only 1 to 2 per at bat.

I am only seeing the brief stutter of the ball as it comes out of the pitchers hand.

You didn't mention how many tries you wanted to see, so I just did it 5 times. I first got two controllers to set up the 1st and 2nd, and then switched back to 1P vs. CPU to actually test it. I played the at-bats like normal - 4 of them went 3 pitches and one went to a 4th (those were bad at-bats...lol).

I only had one noticeable stutter in 2 of them and it was a quick, short one, not like what I had in my video.

That said...I had a couple of full-on pauses at some really odd times, including when I was setting up the first and second situation with an IBB - it paused for about 2 or 3 during the windup seconds to where I thought the game had frozen.

It's also not the first time I've seen the stutter at Wrigley. Obviously I play as the Cubs a lot and I've also seen it quite a bit at Fenway, while trying to test it under the same conditions as my first game (11 half-second pauses like the one in my video, in 108 pitches).

Edit: Missed the part about Castro. I think he was on base for at least 2 of them, though - not sure if he was on 2nd.

Thanks for checking. There was only one instance where it happened every pitch.

I fast forwarded and then switch teams to get Castro on 2nd again and it did happen quite a bit, but nowhere the same as that first instance.

I might have just been chance, but maybe there is something up with Wrigley as I'm playing at U.S. Cellular right now, haven't seen the stutter yet.

I had a couple of stutters in a game that I played earlier @ Minute Maid during day conditions. Both were with no runners on and in the top of the first, after the second one, didn't have any other problems.

Played two play now/quick play games as the Tigers against the White Sox, at Comerica, saw the pitching motion stutter a couple of times in the second game. All of them occuring with Peavy as the CPU pitcher.

Started a RTTS, and didn't see it the first 5 or so games, but the last game I played it was happening almost every pitch in my last two at bats. Also saw it a couple times during the batting practice swings you get before RTTS games. The stutters occured on the default catcher hitting camera.

Playing on a Slim PS3, with a 240 Hz Tv, in game mode. Basically the same setup as MLB 12, so I don't think it is related to my setup.

Hopefully they can figure out whats causing it since some have it and others dont like me. I absolutely dont have it. through 8 games.

This might be a long shot, but for those who have stuttering can you force your PS3 to output 1080p only and see if you notice it as much? Go to display and only check 1080p.

To me it feels like I'm seeing less stuttering now. I counted only a few stuttering pitches during the game compared to around 30 the game before on 720p. The game looks worse in 1080p forced, for instance you'll notice the mound and outfield grass edge look jaggy in catcher view. This makes me feel that maybe it might be a performance related thing.

If anyone can test at Wrigley, Cubs vs Cardinals, day partly cloudy, lance lynn pitching for consistency.

Can you guys test perhaps on 1080p then 720p. Remember to only check one or the other in the PS3 settings.
