No in-game stuttering for me so far, have had a little music stuttering on menus but could care less about that.

You know, going through the options, I just noticed something.
In years past we were able to completely disable all the MLB.com updates and other such shenanigans.

This is the first year we are not able to.

Perhaps the stuttering seems more pronounced this year because last year everyone just immediately disabled those things? I know I always did. And I was trying to do that just now and the option doesn't appear to exist anymore.

Rebuilt the database, and still getting a lot of stutter in the same situations (same teams, stadiums) as I was before during pitches. And there's no real pattern to it. Sometimes I won't see it for a few innings, other times it'll be 3 pitches in a row. And they're not all as severe as the one like I posted earlier - there's varying degrees of them.

Rebuilt the database, and still getting a lot of stutter in the same situations (same teams, stadiums) as I was before during pitches. And there's no real pattern to it. I'm also having trouble ascertaining any sort of pattern or cause for this. I've tried all the fixes listed here and it still randomly happens.

Just happened for the first time during a pitch, for me. Coincidentally this is my first time playing in Tampa Bay stadium.

Doubt the two are related but you never know I suppose.

Some observations on the stuttering I have made:
1) Turn off guess pitch. It cuts the instances of stuttering down considerably. That makes me wonder if it is a result of the guess pitch changes (lighting up the ball if you guess correctly).
2) It happens mostly on off-speed pitches. I don't recall seeing the stutter on a fastball.
3) Some pitcher deliveries trigger it more than other, especially from the stretch.
4) No stuttering when user is pitching. Stuttering when user is hitting. That makes me think it has something to do with the user settings for hitting. Again, I keep coming back to the guess pitch feature. But, disabling it doesn't eliminate the stutter completely.
5) It happens no matter what camera angle you use. And it only happens right when the pitcher releases the ball. Again, that brings me back to a use batting settings issue.

I really feel like this pitch stuttering issue is completely different issue from the main menu stuttering. Now that it's actually happened to me I feel like if I had to take a guess, I'd say it's some sort of pitch/animation issue. I really don't know though.

To the bold: You know, that's a GREAT point. I had it on but just going unused, but I forgot that the indicator doesn't appear until the ball is released this year.

Trying that out now with it turned completely off (like I said, I wasn't actually using it anyway).

I can also echo that it's only a user hitting issue - I've never seen it when I'm pitching.

Maybe it's a tv thing? Maybe it has to do with the refresh rate of certain monitors vs. others? Like 120+Hz has issues, but 60hz does not?

played 2 games so far. No stuttering at all. Cut scenes or during pitches. I did the 5GB install and unplug my Ethernet cord. Im also playing on an HD monitor.

I have no idea how this gets by quality control. So frustrating because it comes out of nowhere
