I'm curious if anyone has tried running the game at 480? Maybe on a CRT via composite and see if it runs smooth with no stutters.

I'm going to try 480p via HDMI. If its a performance issue I can't see why the game couldn't run perfectly smooth at 480p.

edit: nvm, got it in the first inning with Rizzo and Soriano batting.

i played 5 games without a problem. in game 6 i had a stutter from the cpu pitcher once an inning at least, with some cases happening 3x in a row.

Every game has been with the Nationals some at home, some road

The last game (game 6 w/ the stuttering) had the following settings

Exhibition
Rockies vs Nationals
Day Game and clear
Pitch Speed was dropped down to 3, this was also a change from the previous 5 games.
Chacin was the pitcher

i hope this helps, and hope this gets fixed as this makes the game very difficult to play

For some reason I immediately think of a bunch of SCEA guys walking around in circles in a computer lab, all wearing suits and fedora hats and holding tiny notepads and magnifying glasses.

Is it every team... every stadium? Could it be some animation in the stadium triggering it? I wonder this because the only place I notice it otherwise is in the transition animations.

Great question. My first two games were in Anaheim and then Oakland without any stuttering.
It wasn't until I played in Detroit before I got the stutter.

I'll have to test that out at home. Speaking of which, I'm dying to get home to play some more.

I had no stuttering till I activated my Online Pass and now once every couple of games it stutters between pitches at times (longest was about 5-6 seconds, thought the game had frozen) Guessing it's an internet connection thing? I was playing Spring Training in my Franchise in each game.

I've played several games in Detroit and I did NOT have any stutter, whatsoever. I may be a bad example though, since I've been playing the digital version only (even though I have seen claims of people experiencing it on that version too). I'll eventually run some samples with the disc-based version too, and let you know what I get.

just played another game, with pitch speed set to 7, and not one stutter. previously when pitch speed was set to 3, it stuttered every few pitches.

I think it has something to do with the game updating itself. It's been pretty prevalent in my game so far. I've noticed that when I'm in the menu's it stutters also. I don't know how to resolve the issue but I'm sure SCEA will patch it up and we'll be fine.

I mean its rediculous, this game is unplayable at this point, I saw on the show nation thread that this problem is in progress, I really hope it gets fixed.

They fixed the catcher throw back to the pitcher stutter in MLB 11 so I'm sure they can fix this.

As I said in another thread. I am done with this game until they can fix this, it is in the box and will not be touched. What is the point in playing a baseball game if the hitting is screwed up. If I had have known it was that bad wouldn't have bought the game to begin with. It is unacceptable to charge 60 dollars and release something that doesn't work. Who cares how good a game looks if you can't play it. And that is what this game is, unplayable.

I just had a solid smooth game with no pitcher annimation hiccups. I played another and it started hiccuping everywhere. Pitches, cut scenes everywhere. Maybe it has something to do with how long the system is on for and you are playing for.

For my business I've decided to put out a defective product and lets see how long I will keep my client base.

The last game I attempted to play, it happened I would say on well over half the pitches that I saw. I am really very upset, about this. I would go so far as to say that SCEA refund out money for putting a game out that you can't play.

i have found that only time i have experienced the hiccup issue was when i was playing day games... night games don't seem to have the issue as much.

Day games and Clear i should say... but this is still just a sample size of 10 games, 2 of which were hiccups (both against the Rockies during the day)

Good that they are on it. It's not like this is the only game on PS3 with problems. Literally almost every major third party release these days seems to be running at film FPS. It's beyond pathetic and I can't even play games on a PS3 any more without throwing up. Thank god for PCs and the PS4.
