It is interesting because my launch 60GB drive does not appear to be working that hard. I hear it on start-up and that is about it. I do have some stutter this year and that is the first time ever I have had a stutter issue on this machine with this series.

My 500gb isn't really working that hard either.

Well I just bought a brand new superslim 2 days before I got the show.

It's possibly the design though that makes you hear every damn thing.

On a plus note I don't have any stutter problems like others. Much rather have a noisy drive than stutter problems.

I've been playing 8-13 quite a bit the past few days and I noticed only one instance of pitch release stutter on 11 none at all on the other games. Rarely do I see the balk on the pitch meter I use maybe once a game.

I get the pitch stutter on 13 now very rarely maybe a few times each game never more than 3 times if that and some games are stutter free. What I do see a fair amount of is what you might call slowdown on putouts at first base. I play High cam defense and the best I can describe it is the effect you saw playing Contra on the old SNES when there were too many sprites on the screen at once.

Question: Has anyone seen this on-pitch-release stutter (extended pause upon pitch release) when you are pitching against CPU? What is the camera used (broadcast, catcher, etc.)?

The reason I ask is that I think I haven't seen this in CPU vs. CPU games yet. I have used both broadcast cam and catcher cam and I don't think I've seen one (though I am not looking at every pitch).

I saw it once during a cpu vs. cpu game. It was at Yankees stadium using the broadcast cam with the bases loaded.

I've only played a handful of game myself so far. I did not see it in those. I've basically been testing sliders. Like you, I have not watched every game, but when I saw it that one time I thought "That must be what everyone is talking about!".

The fact that both runner windows were up with the bases loaded made me feel like it was a processing issue. I realize others are experiencing it much more.

Yes, the review I read on your console is the disc drive is noisier than the previous Slim.

Yeah I agree it's a noisy system but no game is as loud as the show. For me anyway..

I have the Uncharted bundle bought just over a year ago and have the stutter with 10gig install. Original hdd also.

for what its worth i have played like 10 games so far using defferent catcher camers for hitting and boardcast view for pitching and i have not seen one not one stutter and i did the 10gb install. I do hope they fix it tho because it sucks for people who are getting it and i dont want to start getting it for some reason my self. The game is runing has smooth has butter this year for me and it has run has smooth has butter ever year for me.

I agree about the disc drive. I've never heard a drive work so hard.

It is always doing something, it is relentless.

I bought a new Uncharted 3 250GB bundle just to play this game on Monday and I get the stutter a few times a game. The Blue Disk Drive sounds like it is commit bloody murder the entire time I am in The Show.

I just got the game and did the 10 gig install. Played 1 game (Cards at Dodgers at night) and had only 1 stutter and that was when I was pitching to the Dodgers, so it does occur when you are pitching, not just batting. I did not have any stuttering with music or menus either. I am aware that this could all change at any time, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Before I played a single game, I deleted every single file from all past versions of The Show. I had a lot of files from 09-12. No idea if this helps or not, but it certainly can't hurt. Really hoping that whatever the problem is, it can be found and fixed.

Had my first stutter in about 8 games. I find that groundlings when the throw goes to first base isn't so smooth

Yea. I also deleted all of my previous Shows entirely because My original launch PS3 HDD was too full. I NEVER have stuttering at all during exhibition HR derby, or Franchise. I do for some strange reason have the weird menu music stutter. Noticed it the very first time I ran the Show. Still going on. I can live with it though. Installed the 10gb, retail disc

With The Show, blu-ray drive has pretty much always worked this hard. Nothing really new this year in that regard.
