Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
Just had my first completely pitch-stutter free game, Mets vs. White Sox at US Cellular (I'm just doing random matchups until the issues get worked out).
And, if it matters, GP on (unused), tutorials off. Going to play it again and see if this is a thing, or just another coincidence.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
Alright, so MLB 12 stuttered horrible for me where it was almost unplayable and i couldnt wait for MLB 13. When i got it i tried playing and my god... Couldnt even play a game. Every pitch every swing anytime the ball was hit it would stutter and "lag". I was pissed. Then i borrowed my buddies PS3 and there has been ZERO stutter/lag at all. Flawless gameplay. so idk wtf it is. Has to be something to do w the PS3.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
Brand new super slim 10g install hard copy. Had bad pitcher stutter until I went offline then I've seen it only once... so far.
I wonder if it's when the disc spins up because I hear mine spin pretty violently at times. Also I believe it's tied to the music and if that's the case how do you miss this? The audio has cut out from the first time I put it in my PS3.
Anyone try disabling the ticker?

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
What. Is. Going. On. Here?
So, I posted that I had my first game with no pitch stutters at all at US Cellular, and was going to play it again. I did, and again, none of the really obvious stutters. Now I'm interested. I go back to the site and matchup of my 10 stutter, 110 total pitch game (Houston @ Boston) - and no stutters at all. Previously, I couldn't get through an inning or two without at least one. Played two games there, same each time.
I'm dumbfounded. The only thing I've really done different since powering on my PS3 today was to use the cloud saving, roster vault, and go into RTTS mode for the first time. I don't think any of that could be related to it, but I just don't have any clue why it would be so different, in the same situations. I'm still getting a really tiny stutter on occasion on release (something I probably wouldn't notice otherwise if I hadn't seen the really long ones), and a lot in the cutscenes, especially walkups. Neither of those detract from my ability to play (and my enjoyment of) the game. If it had been like this from the first time I started the game, I'd probably be thinking everyone posting in this thread was crazy.
I don't know what's happened, but:

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
I haven't experienced any stuttering lately either. Perhaps it was a server-side/SCEA issue that caused stuttering when the game contacted the network?
Or perhaps the network was just overworked?
This thread makes my head hurt.Comment

It's got to be game related. I've had 08-12 and never EVER had a single stutter. This is completely new this year and I hope they can find the cause.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
I never did, I agree it's an issue.
Happening once a game is too many times.
It just doesn't happen enough for me to call it a game killer or unsellable. And yes, calling it unsellable is laughable to me.
Put your copy up (not you Spence) on Ebay for $50 and see how quickly it sells.
The game to me is great in so many ways that I can live with this hiccup here and there.
I say that now, it hasn't happened to me at a crucial moment and I've pretty much just learned to take the pitch when it stutters (can't do it on changeups for some reason) that I've just learned to live with it.
Perfect? No. But still a pretty damn good game regardless.Comment

How can this experience be so random?!
Man what a headscratcher.
I really hope SCEA can find the problem.
I have faith in them but It's getting harder and harder to pinpoint what causes this utterly bad timed stutter.
Feels like people tried almost everything...
