Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

      Beyond frustrated right now.

I have a SS with the Mariners. I was promoted to the Bigs about a quarter of the way through my 2nd year. Played 40 games, earned a starting role, and then got injured until the end of the season. So when I started out my 3rd year, they started me out with the role of "MLB Bench." I figured OK whatever, it's just spring training. I'm sure I'll dominate my competition during the spring and earn the starting role back. Not so fast.

The Mariners were starting a guy who was rated 7 points lower than me over me all spring training, even though I was hitting like .100 points higher with more HR and RBI. After spring is over, that guy didn't even make the big league roster, BUT they still didn't start me. They moved Corey Seager over from 3rd base, who also is rated lower than me, and gave him my starting SS job. So I got fed up at this point and said "I know this is kind of cheap, but I'm going to give him like a 30 day injury so they are forced to start me. I'll start for the whole 1st advancement period and then they'll promote me back to the starting lineup." So I try this.

They started me on opening day. I thought my plan was working. But nope, they had other plans. They began starting a BACKUP LEFTFIELDER at shortstop, who was rated 13 points lower than me. So I said OK... I'll injure him too. They started me again. But then the next game they promoted that guy from AAA who was playing over me in spring training. Again, this guy is rated 7 points lower than me. So I injure him too.

What happens then? They start playing Seager even though he's injured. So I'm REALLY getting angry at the fact that they refuse to start me despite me being an 81 overall, the best SS on the roster, and playing other players out of position who aren't even infielders just to avoid starting me.

So I go in and give Seager a dislocated ankle. 217 day recovery time. THEY STILL PLAY HIM!! I didn't even know this was possible. At this point I decided I'm starting over. I don't want to have to come off the bench for 2 months, I'm trying to have a Rookie of the Year campaign and that can't happen if I only get 30 ABs a month for the first few months while trying to earn my spot back from players who are much worse than me.

To make a long story short, the lineup roster management AI in this game is FUNKED beyond belief.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Is our RTTS team supposed to suck? I've been on the Rays and Nats and now I'm on the Giants. A couple times with the Rays we were ranked 1 or 2 overall (when you look at the team ratings) and only ended up a wild card, and with the Nats the same thing happened. Now with the Giants we're ranked 2 overall but we're just meandering along at 14-14. With MLB 12 I won several World Series with some dominant Rangers and Tigers teams, did they tweak that this year?

On a somewhat-related note, anyone else notice that your team can be winning by a considerable margin all game and then suddenly the other team explodes for some crooked number in the 8th or 9th inning to squeak out the W? It doesn't matter what the margin is, I've seen opponents cover 10+ run deficits in the 8th and 9th innings. It's like the game decides "sorry, you're losing this game."

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Created a 6'4" 220lb Switchhitting 3rd Baseman. Originally drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Half Way through first season in AA, was traded to the Royals . In Kansas, I was promoted to AAA and absolutely raked while playing there making the Minors All Star Team. Was pulled up late July to be backup to Mike Moustakas, and platooning in LF in place of Delmon Young. During basically mid August and September I batted .302 with 13 Home Runs and was sent back down to AAA.

Second Season, played AAA all season until the last month and a half again. Called up and batted .285 with 0 Home runs.

Third Season, I'm now the starting 3B and through 7 games I'm hitting around .350 with 0 Homeruns, 7 SB.

What's strange to me is that in my first season in majors I could crush the ball with low stats of COntact/Power in the Majors. I think I was somewhere around 75 Con/ 70 Power from both sides of the plate with low Discipline, vision, clutch and hit 13 Homeruns in limited action. Since that, I've only had 1 Home run although Now my contact and power from both sides are 85/83 , with Discipline, Vision, Clutch now high 60s low 70s.

Playing with Zone hitting the whole time with no changes to sliders at anytime. While I can hit the ball and get singles, steal second, and steal third - as a #4 hitter I'd like to start putting balls over the fence again and not quite sure why it has became harder although my player has become much better with power/contact.

Is there any way to skip the screen that comes up during parts of the game you're not playing in?

EX-I'm a pitcher so during the half of the inning I'm not pitching, I get that screen which basically shows what's happening in the game, I can either watch it, or just skip to my next start. But I don't always want to have to do tat.

Good news: Finally got promoted to MLB team
Bad news: I'm a 92 overall SP(with Stamina in mid 80s) yet I'm in the bullpen..

Jays traded Lind for 3 A potential prospects! Move was done to clear 40 man roster space and they promoted me!

Landing on the DL was super annoying this year and hurt my progression a good bit, I also got hurt a bit and was taken out of some starts early for some random injuries. Now I have 3 solid pitches (4SFB, KNCV, SPL). Finished the year with a 8.44 K/9 even though I started pitching to contact more later in the season so I could get some CG. Next year I will look to polish all of my pitches and become more of a workhorse and add to my stamina and H/9. Perry will enter next season as a Spring Training invitee and will look to get a spot on the big league squad.

Seattle is glitched. I was in triple A and double A batting .400+ and didn't even get invited to spring training. Then, I stayed with triple A for half the 2014 season before demanding a trade and getting traded and promoted. So if I were you, I would wait for the trade demand screen.

Won the NL West and made it to the World Series with the Giants and jumped out to a 3-0 series lead over Seattle. I thought to myself "Hmm, maybe I was wrong."

Hye guys had a quick question for people who have been playing RTTS. I was a SS in the Marlins organazation. I spent my entrie 1st season in AA tearing it up with no call up. I lead the minor in BA, HR, RBI, OPS, just killed it. Anyway after the season the Marlins don't sign me to a contract and I become a free agent. No one else picked me up so I'm forced to retire after 1 year in AA!!!!

Has this happened to anyone else or is this just some weird thing that happened to me?

Did the Marlins even offer you a contract? You MUST sign a deal with your current minor league till until you hit the majors, then the clock starts

Something weird happened to me. After getting traded from the Braves to the Indians I got a call to the Majors. But since then my guy forgot to hit. I swing right through pitches that I should crush. I cant make contact in BP or Training Sessions either. How does that happen?
