Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ok, so I have two questions:

    Question 1:

I am more than likely going to let Morales walk in offseason, and I was wondering if you guys could ever see Montero or Zunino being moved to first realistically next season (if the Mariners were to let Kendrys Morales go following this season)? I just have no idea what I'm going to do with Zunino or Montero? Should I consider using one as a DH next season, or should I look to unload one at some point? I don't see the point in having two young catchers worthy of being an everyday player on my roster just to have one go unused. Thoughts?

    Question 2:

Due to the fact I'm likely getting rid of Morales in the offseason (I just don't want to pay him what he's likely going to be asking for), I am going to need a guy to replace that power in my lineup, but I'm unsure as to who I should target. Ideas? I don't need to make a move on this now, but I was wondering what you guys thought I should do?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Yeah I agree, Fowler has been injured on and off and for the sake of realism I might wait til the off-season to prove his health. Do you think Young could fetch Collins? or Herrera? both are having horrible years. Herrera was so bad he got demoted but I see him as someone who could be a closer or a lights out setup guy. Thanks for the feedback

I really think Crow would be a good fit of Coors but I think Young would be more realistic in this case since they still have Cain as "the future" in center (he's injured right now) and Young Jr. could provide them with an effective leadoff option in the short term (His OBP is in the high 300s for me with a ton of steals). Thank you for the feedback though. Fowler might be traded during the offseason or at the deadline because I could send him to a team that is only lacking a leadoff hitter

        Montero, not Zunino.

I dunno, Garrett Jones? Alfonso Soriano? Gonna have to narrow it down besides "power."

Get rid of Montero? Montero DHing? Or Montero at 1B?

As for replacing Morales' power, I want either a prospect with the potential to be a solid power hitter in the 3 or 4 slot in my lineup, or an established power hitter that I can afford. Let's remember I'm going to acquire this guy for next season, not this season, so the regressing Soriano is not somebody I would like to pick up (unless I should trade Morales instead of just letting him go to free agency in the offseason).

            Montero could DH or 1B.

Joey Gallo is a prospect with HUGE raw power, it's insane. Love the kid.

I'll look into getting him, but I was also thinking I could possibly send Paxton + Maurer/Sanchez + Julio Morban/Timothy Lopes + Matt Brazis to San Diego for Headley. Is this fair? If so, should I be sending Maurer or Sanchez and Morban or Lopes? I'd like an upgrade at 3rd anyways.

                What POT are Brazis/Morban/Lopes?

I think if you gave them Pryor or Capps instead of Brazis it'd be fine.

I got rid of Carson Smith already, so I guess Pryor's going to be heading to San Diego in the near future.

                        As for Gallo:

Nick Franklin to Texas for Gallo (Mid B I think) + Rougned Odor (19 yr old 2B Low B-POT) or Evan Meek?

Tigers(36-25, Twins are 1.5 GB) Offer:
SP Doug Fister (8-1 1.79 ERA)

Braves (41-22, Phillies are 5 GB) Give up:
                          C Christian Bethancourt (.286 1HR 8RBI)
RP Jordan Walden (3-0 3.12 ERA)

The Detroit closer is just doing God awful (0-3, 10.00 ERA, has walked 12 in like 13 IP) so I'm assuming they'd put walden in the bullpen and move somebody else into the closer role

Also my friend is the Reds and he wants to know who he could give up for Dickey (huge mets fan)

                          Thanks!

They don't need any more IFs.

Give them Franklin Gutierrez/Michael Saunders and a low level prospect.
