Seattle already has a CY on their staff called King Felix who just signed a 7 yr 175 million dollar deal. Pretty sure they plan on building around him. Not looking to add a Price as a #2 that would cost them their Top-4 prospects.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
But the Mariners had almost sent Walker + Franklin + Pryor + Furbush for Justin Upton 3 months ago. That's #1 and #4 in Walker and Franklin according to MLB.com. Also, Pryor doesn't register as a 'spect anymore, but if he did, he easily be top 10. Toss in a MLB-ready lefty in Furbush, and that was the rumored deal.
So, both Stanton and Price are significantly more valuable than Upton. I'm not sure if SEA would deal Zunino under any circumstance (he's not eligible yet anyway...hard to imagine he was only drafted last June), but it's not a complete stretch to say they'd deal #1-#4, when they were already offering #1, #4, and two young, solid MLB relievers (Pryor has closer stuff according to some).
Reason why they were willing to give up some much for Upton is they need Offense not another 100 million dollar pitcher to be a #2. Obviously you don't know Seattle's ownership. They are not going to pay over 250 million dollars for 2 pitchers.Comment

I considered him as well. You think DeCarlo for Bourgeois is ok? I know the Marlins could use a young 3B prospect, so I thought DeCarlo would benefit them in that sense. That's why I was leaning towards picking Pierre up for the season. Looked good for both sides to me.Comment

You can play your franchise however you want. Just saying it would never happen in real life. not for another 100 million pitcher. (if you were to keep Price longterm) Only way all Top-4 guy's go would be for a big time bat. They need Offense. Why do you think they threw big offers at Hamilton,Swisher, tried to trade for Upton and finally made trades for Morales and Morse.Comment

Beaven for for D.J. Davis straight up? Or do I need to add something? Beaven is only worth 2 mid c's on the spreadsheet, and Davis I think is a low-mid b-pot CF.
I also agree with the guy above about the Price question. Why would the Mariners get rid of their top prospects for an ace, just to use him as a #2? They have their ace. I don't think it would be smart for the Mariners to unload those guys for Price. I'd think they'd be more likely to target a guy like Stanton. I think the Marlins would be more inclined to part ways with him than Tampa Bay with Price, also. Just my opinion, though.Mavericks

Miller didn't pass Franklin on the Prospect board. He passed him as the SS of the future, because they are having Franklin play 2B at AAA so he can replace Ackley. Miller isn't even the Triple AAA shortstop. He is in AA, Triunfel is the AAA SS. Miller is #6 on the boards. Franklin is #4.Comment

I went ahead and picked up Pierre. I know it's only a short-term fix, but I'm thinking that might be where D.J. Davis comes in. He's already extremely fast, so all I would need from him is for him to get on base consistently.Mavericks

As for the Price to Seattle hypothetical. Well, saying Price is a #2 is just kind of strange. Even if you think Felix is better, I'd still consider them both aces. And I wouldn't rule out a deal just because I already had 1 stud pitcher--a team needs 5 starters anyway. And with Seattle's minor league system, losing 4 good 'spects wouldn't cripple them like some other teams.
I do agree with you that Stanton makes more sense though--even though they'd be happy with either.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Well the Sox and Cubs trading....
Aside from that, its not realistic, Cubs aren't trading Edwin Jackson so soon after signing him to a 4-yr deal. The Sox also aren't trading Hawkins right after drafting him.
On top of not being realistic, that's a drastic overpay by the White Sox (though I wouldn't mind fleecing them). That Cubs package is not worth Courtney Hawkins by himself at this point. Add in a solid reliever in Nate Jones and another Sox top 5 'spect in Johnson and the White Sox GM Rick Hahn would laugh at Theo Epstein/Jed Hoyer here.
TRADE 2
This one is MUCH closer to reality. I'd assume that the Mets are in need of a closer and Herrera is intriguing them. It's probably a slight overpay on the Mets part since Snydergaard has a decent amount more value than Kelvin Herrera, although this trade fills a need for both teams and is close enough that I'd probably let it through. It's pseudo-fair and pseudo-realistic.
EDIT: Just looked at the records...with the Mets out of contention, I doubt they'd trade a 'spect like Snydergaard for a closer. With a winning record, they might have...Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Beavan is not worth D.J. Davis imo. I think with top prospects especially it's bad form to "stack." What I mean by that, say I want Oscar Tavares. He's an A. Now, I can justify sending, oh say, 2 B's and 2 C's and figure that's about an A. But really, the Cardinals would want the impact player (an A) rather than the pu pu platter package. So, I guess, in short, for D.J. Davis I'd suggest to toss a mid-B Toronto's way, rather than a guy worth multiple lesser propects.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I was thinking of including a 1B prospect like Choi or Proscia to even things out, as they have no youth at that position. Could I do Beaven + Proscia/Choi for Davis? I'm looking for a young guy with the potential to be a leadoff hitter for me down the road, and I love the fact he's already a terrific baserunner.
I'd say if the potential of the guy you are throwing in is in the high C to low B range, go for it. Anything below that would seem like stacking (adding many lower quality guys to get a stud) to me.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

I feel you...I had a trade in my 'chise shot down in here also for D.J. Davis, so I'm attuned a bit to his value.
