Thank you for all the information I've received. It's very hard for me to pick a team to go with. I'm a big White Soxs fan but also I'm a Rangers fan. Every year I usually do debate for a while but once I finally pick my team I do get through a whole year of playing every game. Thank you once again

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Okay, unique situation and I urgently need help lol. Arencibia ****ing SUCKS and Thole is pretty bad too. I need a catcher that could be dealt at any point of the season. Tyler Flowers is stuck behind Hector Jimenez, Cincinatti has a surplus with Mes/Hanigan (Mes is sitting), Rob Brantly is riding the pine for Miami, Wilson Ramos is benched in Washington, Chris Stewart is a DFA candidate on the Yankees, but I'm not sure if any of these are realistic. Any former catchers that could be converted? There's Tony Wolters on Cleveland but he's only in AA.
Edit: I may add that ATL has quite the catching situation. Evan Gattis, Christian Bethancourt, and Gerald Laird all on the active roster, and Brian McCann is about to come back from injury. I'm not necessarily looking for a permanent option, just a stopgap until Nessy/Jimenez are ready. Laird could probably work. They also have serious SP problems, so a deal could be made there.
Miguel Olivo or Erik Kratz could work if absolutely necessary, as could Dionner Navarro, Martin Maldenado, Kelly Shoppach, or Ramon Hernandez. I like the idea of a Phillies trade but Kratz is terrible too lol.Last edited by AC; 05-22-2013, 02:17 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

EDIT: Kottaras also is a pretty decent guy for getting walks and he isn't a strikeout machine like J.P can be ingameLast edited by Shock1011; 05-22-2013, 02:27 PM.| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

They don't really have all that much catching depth, do they, though? What if Salvy gets injured again?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Olivo would go before Brantly on the Marlins and I think Kurt Suzuki would go before Wilson Ramos.
Chris Stewart and Laird are pretty worthless lol.
Kottaras like Shock mentioned wouldn't be a bad option because you have Arencibia to platoon with him vs LHPComment

EDIT: the Brewers also have Robinson Diaz who's a pretty good contact hitter, on the rosters I'm using he has a 74, and 75 contact rating for R + L respectively, he's a pretty bad defender thoughLast edited by Shock1011; 05-22-2013, 02:34 PM.| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Royals have Cam Gallagher in the minors who can catch but is a year or two away though. I'd imagine they could find another C if they need to back up Salvy. Kottaras isn't that valuableComment

Off the top of my head, I know Pacheco was a former C... He'd be a good option for contact from that position.

Olivo and Suzuki are interesting options.
Enough platoons lol, I tried it with Thole/JPA.
Yan Gomes, Kelly Shoppach, Erik Kratz, Evan Gattis, Miguel Olivo, and Ramon Hernandez. Which of those do you think is best? And what should I do with JPA following it?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah I actually really like Gallagher but he's in the same boat as A.J. Jimenez for me, if not even further, so he's not really depth for anyone at the moment."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Wasn't Pacheco kinda crap at C, though?

For now I'd just keep JPA on the bench and put him at C/1B/DH whenever he is neededComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I signed Chris Snyder and he's been a beast for me. 1st week of June and he's hitting .280 with 5 HRs 18 RBIs with EXCELLENT defense. I now start him against lefties and McCann against RHPs.
Just throwing that name out there.Comment

Okay, I pulled up a pitch framing spreadsheet... how much would Brayan Pena or Geovanni Soto cost me?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Spreadsheet says Alex Gonzalez is a Low C, I'm looking to unload him since there is such a log jam at SS and I'd rather have Scooter Gennett on the MLB roster than Gonzalez. He's however having a really good year, I've probably been starting him once a week w/ Corey Hart on the DL and his avg. is at .426 w/ a HR and a .559 SLG% would his value be slightly raised w/ these numbers? I'm not talking a bump up to a B or anything just maybe a lesser valued Mid C prospect.
Lastly any suitors for him? I was thinking either SD (they're leading the west by 1.5 over the Dodgers) or the Nats (Desmond is hurt for a month)| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just not sure how realistic benching the starting catcher would be, as JPA's kinda loved by the fanbase/management for whatever reason.
I'm mainly looking for guys good at defense, so Snyder's not really that applicable, is he? I remember he had a rather crippling injury a year or two ago.
