Wut? I'm sorry, but I wouldn't even go that far...

I think the writer was making more comparisons to the way they play. But you're right about the power Gennett has almost no HR power right now. He will probably end up a poor mans Pedroia if anything

Yeah, you'll be lucky if you get 10+ HR from Scooter at this point in his career.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Okay I know you all get a lot of What is K. Morales worth in here from us Mariner fans, but I have one as well.

Middle of June and Reds and Cards are tied for 1st in the NL Central with 50 wins each. St Louis just lost 1B A. Craig for 3 weeks and C. Beltran for 1-2 month. Also 2B K. Wong is on the DL for 1-2 weeks as well, (and was playing at the MLB level)

They are currently using Ty Wigginton at 1B (.256 7 HR 16 RBI) and A. Chambers in RF (.217 10 RBI).

The M's are currently in 1st with a 3.5 game lead over Texas, but I really don't feel like Morales is in my plans for next season, so I feel like the Cards are a good spot for him down the playoff stretch.

          Morales (85 B) is batting .310 with 12 HR's 38 RBI's.

          is he worth T. Rosenthal (77 B) currently 3-0 with 2 saves in AAA in 60 IP and 1B M. Adams (56 B) batting .234 with 5 HR 25 RBI in AAA.

Spreadsheet says 2 low B, but with the current stats and situation didn't know if it would justify.

Another thought is I just had E. Thames come off the DL in AAA and need to make a roster spot for him, so I was thinking of sending F. Martinez (68 B) to the Cards as well (we actually DNF him in real life and he went back to the Tigers whom we got him from in the Fister trade. Or another option is to trade Vladdy Guerrero whom I signed a month ago and is currently batting .252 with 3 HR in AAA (he is rated a 68 A) or both.

Thanks for all comments in advance.

If you're 30-teaming your chise, you should just call up Matt Adams, because Morales isn't really a Cardinals type of player. Or an NL player, really.

Just had this deal come up in the pending transactions of my Rockies franchise, and I was wondering if I should let it go through or not:

              White Sox get:
              RP Rhiner Cruz - 2-4, 20.1 IP, 8.85 ERA, 2.11 WHIP, .303 BAA
              SP Philip Humber - 0-6, 38.1 IP, 7.51 ERA, 2.01 WHIP, .360 BAA

              Astros get:
              RP Nate Jones - 2-0, 21.2 IP, 3.74 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, .268 BAA

I have 30 team control, so I can accept/veto trades and make some moves at the deadline, but if this is fair, I'll let it pass.

Astros are 14-27, 12.5 games out in the AL West, and the Sox are 15-26, 9.0 games back in the Central.

              Thanks!

I'd veto it. The ChiSox have no interest in bringing back Humber and as both teams have losing record, there's no real rebuilding aspect here either. The Sox would be better of keeping Jones in their pen

I am using 30 team control. I thought about that, but being how Adams isn't really doing anything in AAA, figured the Cards were better off just using Wiggy at 1B. Another option is to have them call up their AA 1B who is batting over .300 with 17 HR.

Not sure why Boras thinks, Morales is worth so much, because when it comes to trying to find a team he fits on the choices are pretty limited. Only AL team that is really a option would be TB IRL but on the game right now Loney and Scott are a big reason why they are in 1st place. I thought maybe KC or Toronto, but Hosmer (.291 12 HR 40 RBI) and Lind (.254 14 HR 48 RBI) are both playing well.

Right now the only team in the AL that could use a DH is Detroit, but I already traded them Montero who they have catching with Avila out 3-4 weeks and Martinez out 6 months. They are currently using OF Q. Berry (.302 1 HR 13 RBI) whom IRL they just DNF and was claimed by the Royals.

In the NL, the Giants and Dbacks are in a battle for 1st place and Goldschmidt is out for 3 week for Arizona. (batting .228 with 6 HR 24 RBI), but they are using E. Chavez at 1B and he is batting .275 with 10 HR, so Morales doesn't offer them a upgrade. Belt is batting .246 with 6 HR and 21 RBI

You could always bring back M. Kawasaki. He can't hit in real life but maybe he does in the game? IRL the fans loved him and he isn't any worse then B. Ryan or R. Andino. Or I would think somebody like M. DeRosa might be a good role player off the bench.

As far as pitchers, I would have to defer to AC as he knows the Bluejays better then I do.

I put Lind in there because you're gonna have to eat his contract to get Boni, and you're not going to ship Morales anywhere else.

Oh jeez! I just took a look at his contract.

EDIT: What do you think about Morales to the Rays? I was thinking I could get Tim Beckham and both teams could add in a piece or two.

                              As of the ASB:

#5 starter Alex Cobb is 5-5 with a 4.16 ERA
#4 starter Jeff Niemann is 5-7 with a 5.09 ERA
Luke Scott is batting .198 with 3 HR and 25 RBI
                              Loney - .268 4 HR, 32 RBI,

                              Morales - .340 (top 5 in AL) 22 HR, 65 RBI
                              Harang is 7-6 with a 4.01 ERA

I just completed ASB and am slowly approaching the deadline. I was looking to ship Morales, and Harang to the Rays for Beckham.

                              So here's what I though I'd offer:

                              1B/RF/DH Kendrys Morales
                              SP Aaron Harang
                              MAYBE a minor league pitcher

Niemann is the one with ugly numbers in Tampa and Harang could replace him there unless they have a stud like Archer, Colome or Odorizzi pitching well in AAA that deserve a promotion?
