Not sure about Colon atm as I have to get off to bed, but Keuchel for Frenchy may be a slight overpay haha."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Okay, I'm in my second year of my Marine3rs chise, and I'm wondering what I can get for Hisashi Iwakuma.
In the 1st year, he went 14-6 with a 2.77 ERA
So far, in the second year (exactly through 81 games), He is 8-4 with a 2.35 ERA and a WHIP < 1.00
I want a viable 1st base option, as the only guy who can play 1st on my 25-man roster is Justin Smoak, who is batting .213 with only 5 HRs. I want to free up space for either Paxton or Walker and possibly get a another player (No one specifically in mind)
Teams who could use some pitching and are in it:
O's
Yankees
Red Sox
Cleveland
ALL the NL West teams
Pirates
Reds

Damn, 2 solid options. I may go with Presley/Locke...Although the McDonald/Tabata would be nice too since Mac is rated higher than Locke and I will be losing Garza next season to Free Agency. Tough Decisions and thanks a lot!Comment

The Rockies wouldn't want Pena. They would move Cuddyer to 1st and call up an OF and use Pacheco as the backup 1B.Denver Broncos

The only guys I think you could get from that group would be guys like Brandon Belt, Brett Pill, Jordan Pacheco, or Matt Laporta. Maybe guys who are more like DHs too in Jason Giambi and Travis Hafner.
I think the best option might be to add in a bit more on your end and go after Cuddyer from the Rockies. He'd be a nice option for you b/c he can play 1B, corner OF, and even some 2B. Maybe if you sent Iwakuma and Smoak you could get Cuddyer and a small piece back--it would really depend on Cuddyer's stats at this point and how the Rox are doing.
Some other guys you could offer up in a potential deal for Cuddyer would be Erasmo Ramirez and Jesus Montero. I could see the Rox letting Montero play 1B at Coors.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Okay guys July 28th of a Athletics franchise looking to deal Bartolo Colon.
We're 51-53 in 4th place in the West 14.5gb.
Bartolo Colon: 7-8 3.15ERA 83SO 29BB 128.2IP 5.81K/9
Was thinking either a 3B or OF, preferably an OF as I drafted a couple good 3B.
Here's a few thoughts I had based on the spreadsheet, all teams are in playoff push mode with at least one or two struggling starters.
3B Patrick Leonard: TB 1st in East by 1.5g, AA stats .319 14HR 44RBI .387OBP
I know this one is in division but,
Luis Jimenez: .175AVG 7HR 24RBI .265OBP in AAA, Angels are first in west by 12.5g
LF Zoilo Almonte: .278AVG 16HR 59RBI .365OBP in AA, Yanks are in 3RD in East 4.5gb
LF Alex Hassan: .313AVG 2HR 11RBI .419OBP in AAA, Boston 4th in East 6GB with every starter struggling except Lester
CF AJ Pollock: .256AVG 2HR 33RBI .328OBP in AAA, Arizona is 2ND in the West 3GB the Dodgers
RF Cory Vaughn: .248AVG 4HR 39RBI .355OBP in AA, Mets are 1ST in East 3G ahead of Wash
Just some ideas, almost everyone on the team position player wise is open, except Cespedes, Reddick, and Lowrie who progressed to an A this season.
Wanted to dump Crisp to but he's injured for 6+ months.
So lemme know what yall think and come back with some different options if you think of any, would prefer like a 50/50 prospect/MLB player. Basically someone fairly young but who could produce with the big squad next year as well. I can provide any stats you would like just ask for them.Last edited by HighCmpPct; 07-02-2013, 01:37 AM.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Should probably also deal Chris Young too, as actually having to pay for him next year probably isn't to smart. Unless he usually signs cheap?
Chris Young: .227AVG 7HR 29 RBI .316OBP
EDIT: Was just cruising through the roster and remembered I need to deal Grant Balfour as well I'm sure he'll want a payday as he has deserved and don't think imma give it to him. Should be able to get something good outta him right? Really need help on this one as I'm not sure where to start.
Grant Balfour: 0-1 2.87ERA 30SO 30SV 4BSV .99WHIP 2.435ERC 8.62K/9
Teams with CP needs and in the hunt:
Tigers 1st 6.5 game lead Valverde: 4.28ERA 27SV 4BSV 21SO 1.57WHIP 4.410ERC
Nationals? 2nd 2.5 GB Soriano: 4.54ERA 31SV 5BSV 40SO 1.40WHIP 3.473ERC
Reds? 1st 11.5 game lead Chapman: 5.87ERA 35SV 9BSV 40SO 1.46WHIP 5.110ERC
Cardinals 2GB wild card Swagerty 4.99ERA 28SV 8BSV 21SO 1.53WHIP 4.506ERC

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I smells me a debate coming on!
Colvin has a pathetic 15.2 LD% and a hilarious 34% K-rate and 5.5% BB-rate with a .239 (Arencibian) wOBA and and somehow has a 27 HR/FB but yet only 3 HRs, all good for a comedic wRC+ of 33. Colvin was a useful player last year and sucks this year, obviously the Rockies won that trade by default but not because Colvin is that great. I dunno if I buy that home/away split as he had a fairly impressive LD% last year and a sustainable HR/FB rate, he didn't really get all the lucky in general. Obviously a .364 BABIP won't be sustained but it's not as outrageous as it seems.
There, I just saved us like 20 pages of debating lol.
I would say sample size but from what I jave seen of his swing this year...I'll admit I don't get to catch much for rox games on tv but it dont look good.
WTNY, park effects is your argument for everything Rox related. You will notice a correlation to when the Rox offense is good and park effects are up because half of those numbers come from their offense. I am just saying you overstate it by a lot, not that it does not exist. Just admit that the Rox have some good hitters and I will drop it.Last edited by rjackson; 07-02-2013, 03:37 AM.Comment
