Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Cardinals as a trading partner for Stanton was covered a couple of weeks ago in this very same thread. You'd probably get the best sense of what's realistic if you go back and read it using the search tool rather than us re-posting it so to speak.
The Twins could offer upp Alex Meyer, Kyle Gibson, Byron Buxton and Oswaldo Arcia for Stanton but that's barely face value for him and would drain the whole Twins system making it highly unlikely.
The Pirates have the pieces and I think we touched on that while being on the Cards as a possible trade partner. Alen Hanson, Gregory Polanco, James Taillon and something more...Jose Tabata is certainly not a prospect anymore but fits the Marlins market and could use a fresh start.
The Twins also have alot more pieces than those 4 guys as well, they're arguably the top farm system in the game.Last edited by hawks223; 07-15-2013, 04:57 PM.Comment

If the Rockies are a legitimate contender and their starting pitching has some weak spots (I would be surprised if it didn't), you could send him there for Aquino or Matzek.Denver Broncos

I'll keep him for now. I'm about to pass the deadline anyway and I have all the moves I wanted to make.Comment

LOL What? Meyer, Gibson, Buxton, and Arcia is barely face value for Stanton are you kidding me? Buxton is the #1 prospect in baseball, Meyer is #32, Gibson, and Aricia both graduated off the list but both were top 50 in the pre-season prior to a call up.

Especially not with far and away the best power hitting prosect in baseball Miguel Sano only a year away tops. Who'sthe #3 prospect overall, and only 20. They have no need for Stanton.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
First time back here since last year and this was the first thread I came to haha.
Anyways, mid-way through my first Mets franchise in year 1, I'm around 15 games below .500 and John Buck is tearing it up (.285, 17 homeruns, 54 RBI). The Tampa Bay Rays are battling the Yankees and Red Sox for the AL East and are really struggling at catcher.
I proposed this trade:
John Buck - Catcher
Travis d'Arnaud - Catcher, A potential
Juan Lagares - Outfielder, C potential
FOR
Wil Myers - Outfielder, A potential
For me, d'Arnaud has been having a solid season and is on track to becoming an effective major leaguer. Juan Lagares is just a throw in to fill in the void for the Rays outfield who plays solid defense and has good speed.
Myers is doing well, batting .290 with 11 homeruns. I feel this is somewhat realistic because the Rays are getting Buck, who will help them in the pennant race now, d'Arnaud, who will help them in the pennant race in he future, and Lagares who can be a solid fourth outfielder for them.
Myers, on the other hand, will tremendously improve my outfield and give the Mets a bat that will help solidify the lineup, especially when Ike is on (he's been on and off for me thus far). Also, I have Plawecki in the wings so I don't have no future at the catching position.
Any thoughts on this?Comment

I think if you took back Jose Molina in the deal, this would be a really fair trade."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If you are going for realism at all... don't do this trade. You should be shopping Buck and/or TDA for a more established outfielder instead of a young, top prospect/rookie. I would probably split Buck and TDA into separate trades.Denver Broncos

Assuming he isn't, imo it's a really fair trade that definitely suits needs quite well."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Yeah it's not bad fairness wise. He said he thought it was somewhat realistic, so I wasn't sure if he was going for realism or not.Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I just got to July 1st in the first season of my Mets franchise, I'm 7 games under and looking to make a big trade. Here's my crazy idea the Mets and Rockies are out of it and the Nats and Cards lead the divisions . With that in mind the Rockies are looking to rebuild as are my Mets with the Nats and Cards looking to make their run. Most of the players are blocked by better players on their teams.
Mets get Cargo
Rockies get Matt Adams, Swaggerty, Tyler Moore and Valdespin
Nats get Helton and a RP
Cards get Ruben Tejada and a RPComment
