Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
They have a lot of pieces to trade but with the market fluctuating so quickly it's hard to get a beat on what most of these guys (other than Garza) are worth.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

OK, so I'll reverse that deal no problem.
As for CHI's desire to sell. They clearly will be out of it this year by a long shot. Whom do you see them unloading and for what in return?
This brings to mind another key question for me since I'm a noob to this stuff: when in the schedule do teams really start making waves through trades?
Garza will almost certainly be unloaded for a large overpay. Soriano as well. You can wake up trades for both and I can help with it.
trades usually start after the draft/ mid June. You will see some minor and maybe a few medium impact trades in May/ early June though, but not alot.
Can you guys take this to PM? Don't want to clog the thread up.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I don't think I will to be honest...even with Swisher in the line-up. I would have if I could've found a good bat in the outfield to replace Stubbs, but without that, I don't think my line-up is good enough to take the wildcard (division even less). Or maybe I just picked the wrong team (franchise not started yet)...Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK, here's a trade that happened b/w CPU teams. I have 30 team control so I can negate or modify this offer, but I need advice.
CHI sent LF J. Costanza and C E. Gattis to ATL for RP M. Bowden, SS J. Baez, and RB A. Vizcaino.
Here's ATL's haul:
1. Bowden is 26 YO, 71 OVR, C POT, and has pitched 0 innings. He's now with
the Braves.
2. Vizcaino is 22 YO, 66 OVR, A POT, and has an ERA of 3.97 w/ 1 win and 1
loss. He's in AAA now.
3. Baez is 20 YO, 67 OVR, A POT and no official at-bats. He's now in AAA.
The Cubs are 13.5 games back after 46 games.
As for CHI's take:
1. Gattis is 26 YO, B POT, and is hitting .179 in 22 AB
2. Costanza is 29 YO, 64 OVR, D POT w/ no official AB.
I can see CHI contemplating selling, but not w/ just 50 games under their belts. Gattis is a nice piece, and ATL has 2 very nice C in the majors and 2 decent ones in the minors, but I'm not sure I'd let Gattis go so early.
CHI already has Castillo, who is passable, and while they need help in the OF, and potentially could develop Castillo at C, and Almora (A POT), Jackson (A POT) and Sczur (C POT) in the OF.
ATL could always use arms, but the big league club is fairly well stocked and the minors are full of C POT arms, so not bad.
What's the consensus on how to handle this?

You can pull off a deal or 2 preseason, but all this complete overhaul and trade the top 3-4 player stuff before the chise even starts is very unrealistic. You could certainly tinker before the season though.
I mentioned fantasy draft before as a good way to use a certain team, but not be tied to it's players. So, if you don't want to fantasy draft, I'd strongly suggest waiting until at least mid-May to make trades until your team/the league has some results to go on.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I have my team set to HUM and the CPU to CPU Manual. For CPU Manual, I had trades to "On," but then changed them to "Manual" and tried to send the players back but it doesn't seem to be taking.
Is there a step I'm missing?Comment

I think most here would advise you to start the 'chise first, then play a little, then start thinking about some trades after.
