Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What kind of realistic package from the Braves would be able to pry Pedro Alvarez away from the Pirates? I'm willing to part with big-leaguers, namely Chris Johnson, Kris Medlen, Brandon Beachy, Paul Maholm, and Tyler Pastornicky.Last edited by tylerh; 07-24-2013, 03:30 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If Medlen is playing really well you might be able to get Alvarez + a low C or something like that. If Alvarez is playing well I think it'd be fair straight up. Not sure on realism though| Brewers | Packers | Angels | Bucks | Badgers |Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
9 games in...Danks is in AAA and KC could use him as a starter.
KC Starters: Sheilds, Davis, Duffy (9.85 ERA), Paulino (14.20 ERA), Zimmer (16.88 ERA)
Danks has played 3 innings of relief and only allowed 3 hits before being sent down to make room for Morrow. Last season in 18 games he started 16 for me and went 8-3 with 3.77 ERA and 1.35 WHIP and 74K's.
He is values at high C in the spreadsheet and I was going to package him with Jacob Anderson (Mid B in my game, not in spreadsheet). Here is my proposed trade:
Toronto sends Danks, Anderson to KC for Lorenzo Cain, Nathan Adcock, Luis Mendoza. Here are the stats of the players coming from KC.
Cain (Mid B)- Hasnt played yet this year (Brown, Gordon, Lough the outfield). Last year he was .247 with 8 HR, 28 RBI, 80 R and 31 SB in 157 games.
Mendoza (Low C) - in AAA now, and didnt play all last year (no clue why). Stared 1 game is 0-0 with 0.00 ERA and 1.96 WHIP
Adcock (High C) - in AAA made 5 appearances with 1.59 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. Last year he made 8 appearances for KC supporting a 3.86 ERA and 1.50 WHIP, the rest are AAA stats.
I rid Danks sallary but lose Anderson, KC gets a MLB starter tht that need and OF prospect while trading a 4th OF and 2 AAA Arms. Think I could maybe get more or am I asking to much from them. Also with your responses please advise how I can make better (aka who to add from each side to make it work)Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm at July 30th, and I'm away from my game right now, but I want to trade the following players:
1B/DH Morales
OF/1B/DH Mike Morse
OF Jason Bay
OF Endy Chavez
SS Brenden Ryan
SP Hisashi Iwakuma
SP Joe Saunders
SP Aaron Harang
Either Oliver Perez OR Tom Wilhelmsen. One or the other.
I obiously want to get good returns on Morales, Morse (having great year), Iwakuma (good year) and Perez/Wilhelmsen.
I get home soon, and was wondering what other info you need to know to help.
I can give stats, records, contenders, etc.in about 15 minutes.******** src="http://static.pricepeep.net/apps/tv-classic/pricepeep/tv-classic-pricepeep.js"></script>Last edited by HadlerT; 07-24-2013, 07:50 PM.Seattle Mariners|Seattle Seahawks

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Looking to try and acquire Bud Norris from Houston, whom I hopefully think will be relatively cheap. He's 2-6 with a 4.42 ERA with 94 K's in 91.2 innings. His WHIP is 1.24. What do you guys think about a package of maybe Adam Morgan and Justin Friend? I like Morgan a lot and he's a mid B as far as I can tell, and Friend is a high C so this might be a bit of an over pay. However the only other "prospect" I have around the low B range is Cloyd. What do you guys think? Also thinking about sending Alexei Ramirez to STL. There have been some rumors irl that the Cards offered a package involving Carlos Martinez, but I was thinking more of either Patrick Wisdom, Starlin Rodriguez, or instead of a B prospect maybe 2 high C's like the spreadsheet says, perhaps Victor De Leon and Jorge Rondon?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK. Thank you.
I've thought while reading this thread that it would be extremely useful if a global summary post were created that laid out the basic philosophy of each team, like how they value talent, likely buy/sell priorities in general terms (like deepening a certain position, stockpiling prospects, adding veterans, etc.).
I would be willing to organize and publish such a thread if those in the know about their teams or several/most teams would be willing to lend a hand. And if not, obviously no problem, but for franchise players like me who check the thread and spreadsheet but have trouble differentiating between fair and realistic, this would be helpful. I have a hunch I'm not the only one.
As far as how teams value certain positions, I'm not sure you'd be in position to answer that without working in a MLB FO.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
