Wouldn't be the 1st time that's happened in baseball history

OK, so I was thinking I toss in someone like Collmenter to go with Lindblom and Didi. 2K rates Collmenter "generously" and he had a 3.05 ERA 1.11 WHIP .214 BAA in 56 IP.

Carter, DeShields, Didi, and Lindblom all had ho hum stats last year so I didn't post their stats.

DeShields + Carter for Didi + Lindblom + Collmenter ??

I should also mention that Carter would be starting in AAA if I didn't move him.

You deadset on moving Carter and Deshields?

Good question. I mean, I am open to suggestions. I am deadset at upgrading SS.

My point of view is this...

I really do like DeShields. However, DeShields is a little bit blocked at 2B since I signed Altuve to a long-term deal. In the OF, Carlos Gomez and Gerardo Parra are fixtures, and I didn't expect David Murphy to hit .350 with 35 HR and 115 RBI for me either. So the OF is pretty tough to find ABs. Plus Trayvon Robinson came over and made a big impression, so I envision DH as Murphy's future with Robinson in LF and leading off. Basically Robinson stole DeShields' spot (similar players to an extent). That kinda leaves DeShields odd man out. Now if I could shift Delino to SS and I wouldn't need to make any deals, but I don't think he can play SS.

With Carter, he's basically a sitting duck. His stance is sooo upright that it's not even funny the high strikes called on him. Sure, I could change his stance, but I think that's cheating a little. But in about 1000 ABs for me, he's a consistent .215 hitter, although he'll get his 25-30 HRs too. Plus, with Jonathan Singleton at 1B and the OF crowded already, and the DH taken, Carter is in the same boat as Delino.

I'd be willing to alter the deal, but losing those 2 guys probably hurts my roster the least, sad to say it.

The risk I guess is Didi falls into my SS vortex like those before him and/or Trayvon Robinson's .291/.371/.496 with 4 HR 19 RBI and 23 SB in 127 AB was a mirage and Delino is not there to back him up.

Have you considered something a little outlandish in moving DeShields to SS and maybe moving CC for pitching depth?

Oh and I'm also thinking I'll regift Brandon Barnes to myself to sweeten it a bit more, so:

DeShields + Carter for Didi + Lindblom + Collmenter + Barnes

You know, I have. But can he play SS? I'm not sure he can, and he definitely can't play it like Didi Gregorius can.

If I just look at the d-ratings (because I can change their positions in 2K):

Didi: 99 catching, 97 throw accuracy, 93 throw power, 96 anticipation, 93 range, 96 acceleration

Delino: 84 catching, 87 throw accuracy, 83 throw power, 72 anticipation, 99 range, 99 acceleration

It's not inconceivable, but I've read scouting reports that Delino might not even stick at 2B and could end up in the OF, so bumping him up in difficulty to SS might be unrealistic.

I guess it's just a throw him out there and see kind of thing. His attributes seem pretty solid. Plus, I'm still unsure on the realism, if only that it's late and deals that take place multiple years from now are harder to judge on realism.

I suppose I can give DDJ a try at SS, and if it doesn't work out, then I've got this trade ready to go.

I wouldn't do the Barnes trade. I can tell that's unrealistic.

If Story's doing well, I can see you getting maybe 4/5 of that.

I know you proposed something like this before, and I can't remember what my advice was aside from adding in more filler-type prospects on your side. I'm not sure if you also added to the Mets side too, but it feels like too much imo.
I don't have exact stats, but Story is hitting something like .290 with 4 HR and 25 RBI as the lead-off hitter in AA.

Parnell, Niese, and Familia are the three that I'd really like. But, with Wheeler and Wells in there, I feel like I'd be getting shorted in a straight 3-for-3 trade.

All three guys going to NY would be starters there, strictly based on overalls.

McHugh or Valdespin then as the 4th piece? Both might be a tad too much imo.

CPU just approached me in ST with an intriguing offer for a change. The Brewers are offering me catcher Martin Madonado (Lucroy's backup) for my 4th OF Thomas Neal. Neal is 27 and 78 OVR, Maldonado is 28 and 74 OVR. I could actually use a catcher--signed David Ross but he's like 37 years old. Both have the same pot in game and same spreadsheet value. Brewers lost Carlos Gomez last year and Nori Aoki to FA. And with a season 100-game ban of Ryan Braun looming (), the Crew could use an OF. Thoughts?

                              I would do this deal.

Also I would do the Didi deal. I think when you get a year ahead or in your case 2 years ahead of real life, realism needs to take a back seat to fairness. Deal seems fair, and like AC said maybe even a overpay, which I prefer to do 9 out of 10 times anyways.

P.S. To bad you were not able to resign A-Cab and then flip him to St Louis for Wacha. Totally would've helped your rotation.

ok so i have a trade to offer that i just want to know if it is fair. I'm the Nationals in year 1 and i play every game so im leading the division by 14 games. Toronto is currently 6.5 back in the east and 5 back of the WC. Currently Josh Johnson is on the DL for 4-5 weeks and Ricky Romero is on the DL for 2-3 weeks.

                                WSH receives:
                                Edwin Encarnacion 95 OVR (.280, 22HR, 62RBI)

                                TOR receives:
                                Dan Haren 91 OVR (11-4, 130IP, 2.71ERA, 0.96WHIP, 81SO)
                                Chris Davis 84 OVR (.226, 19HR, 52RBI)
                                Yorman Rodriguez B pot 67OVR (.272, 11HR, 46RBI, 12SB)

I think it is pretty good for both sides. I have too many LH bats in the lineup so this swaps one of them. They need SP help if they want to make the playoffs this year and Haren is better than everyone except JJ. Chris Davis replaces Encarnacion at 1B with similar HR, RBI numbers but the average isnt there. and they get an outfielder with solid potential to possibly man LF in a couple years. What do you think is it fair?
