    Thank you for keeping Rizzo!

I was basing my packages off of the spreadsheet. IRL prices are insane compared to virtual. Samardzija can command a low A and low B, or even a mid A with the way he's rated, and the way he's been playing. I'm just not really comfortable giving up too much more than the sheet suggests.

I reccomend making the LAD trade, but there is a flaw for realism that I just thought of. Seager was just drafted last year, and isn't eligible for trade yet.

So this isn't really trade advice but I figure that this is the best place to ask this question. I know how August waivers work in real life but do they work the same way in The Show? Like if you claim a player then will you have two days to make a potential trade for him? Also, is it even worth placing claims on decent players (say 80 ovr and up)? Do teams ever actually just let those guys go on waivers?

well if he was drafted last year they could move him, its 365 days after he signed and we are a calander year past last years signing deadline. as fo the trades i was looking for a middle ground of realistic and spreadsheet so like a small grade bump like example a high B gets bumped to a low A, a mid B gets moved to high B etc.

Hey guys, here with my Phil's chise and it's July 26th, and we're 47-55 and about to face the best team in baseball... the Tigs... so we'll likely be 47-58... but anyways... you know what this means... TIME TO SELL, SELL SELL! I'm going to be trading a lot of guys and would like some help on my current top guys that I think I can get a lot of value on.

Cliff Lee: Having a nice year as usual.

3.44 ERA, 7-9(hitting is crap), 1.10 WHIP, 128 SO in 133.2 IP... pretty solid year and any contender would love this guy. Looks like the top teams that could use an SP are:
          Royals
          Brewers
          Angels
          Giants
          Tigers

I think they're all good options as each of these teams 4-5 pitchers have an ERA over 4 (except for tigs, only there 5th guy has an ERA over 5), not sure what package I can get for him though.

Ryan Howard: .237, 15 HRs... yeah amazing year alright...

The spreadsheet says low C so I have no clue what the hell I can get for him but I thought I would throw him out there... teams that need a 1B and are competing are..

          Giants
          Rays
          A's

The Rays need one bad so I'm not sure other then these 3 teams(Doubt OAK takes on contract anyways), will take him...

Michael Young: You really thought I wasn't going to include him in this?

          Teams that need a 3B

          Red Sox
          Angels
          Dodgers

All 3 will probably overpay but I'm not sure what I can get. Young is batting .273 and has 11 HRs.

I'm not sure any of the teams you mentioned would take Lee, either because of payroll restrictions or not having the prospects to get a deal done.

Howard's contract is terrible, and definitely too much for the Rays or A's. Not sure about SF.

I could see Young going to any of those three teams, especially the Sox or Dodgers. Maybe package Young and Lee to one of those?

no shot at 3B, 2B or maybe LF all the way. SS wo make a boat load of errors tend to move to much lesser defensive position, not an almost as demanding one like SS to 3B.

I just wanted to say that I disagree with this aspect of realism. Jed and Theo are running the Cubs in virtual land, Clebuck is and he can market Castro if he wants. I don't think that is unrealistic. Now, me playing as the Pads and trying to trade for Castro is probably unrealistic. I hope this makes sense?

Also, guys like Jeff S. might have been available but it would be unrealistic to go above the spreadsheet as nobody met the Cubs asking price for him. Otherwise, he'd be playing somewhere else right now.

I traded away Jason Vargas and Billy Buckner (both SP but not in my Angels rotation) to the Yankees for Joba Chamberlain and Dellin Bettances (young RP who throws gas).

Starting Rotation (5 gms ahead in AL West)
                          Weaver (3-2, 2.5 ERA)
CJ Wilson (struggling with over 7 ERA)
                          Hanson (5-1, sub 2.0 ERA)
                          Jerome Williams

All 3 will probably overpay but I'm not sure what I can get. Young is batting .273 and has 11 HRs.

I could see the Angels giving away the farm to get Lee if it means keeping the Rangers from getting him and it if means winning the AL West.

You might need to take on some salary back in the deal, but taking whatever SP he would be replacing in the rotation, (Vargas, Blanton) but would say getting 3B Kaleb Cowart and 1B CJ Cron would be a nice start in replacing Young and Howard.

As far as Howard goes, I added the twist of suspending Ryan Braun in my Franchise, and because I am in 2014, Corey Hart had already left to become a Twin, so the Brewers now had a huge hole in the middle of their order and had former Blue Jay A. Lind playing 1B. I moved Lind to the OF and added Howard for a C rated prospect, plus sent the Phillies 3B A. Ramirez (because of his 7 mil salary for 2 years, and the fact he was hitting like .280 with 9 HR's) to help even out the money thing. You could do something like that, if Ramirez's #'s are not great. Maybe he rebounds in Philly and gives you the ability to leave Cowart in AAA for a year.

As far as Young goes, I would say a mid to low B prospect would be fair, and teams, like Boston, Dodgers, Texas, or even the Angles if you want to do a package deal and move him with Lee would work.

Do the Angels even have a farm? There is no way LA is going to keep Lee away from Texas if Texas wants him.

Cowart is waaaaaaaaay more valuable than you think. He can bring back something, more than Anyone else in the farm. In all honesty, a C is just too much IMO.

You had a great response, until you said package Lee. All those teams have already said they aint parting with their #1 prospects for him.

You think something like Young/Lee to LAD for Puig, Seager, and another player or two could work? Or something like Young/Lee, or even Lee himself to Texas for(this would probably be more realistic) in a deal headlined by Olt? If not, that LAA deal doesn't sound terrible
