Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Ok, For the Chi Sox, i'm gonna draft a kid to be my upcoming first baseman (kinda like the next Ike Davis) to replace Paul Konerko when he leaves, but i will need a filler until the kid is ready. I thought about Brett Pill from San Fran, but i'd like someone with some more power but still bats right handed. Do you guys have any idea who else fits my scheme? I prefer anyone age 26-30, right handed, and decent power. Willing to give up most anything.

Mitch Moreland? but he's a lefty... I also thought of Logan Morrison but also a lefty... I am terrible.

I'll have to look into this but off the top of my head I'd say Paul Goldschmidt? I know he's got pretty good pop on lefties, and decent against righties. Never tried to get him though, so not sure what it'd take. He is a year younger than what you want, 25. Not a great Fielder by any means but decent. But he's be a pretty good trade commodity once your homegrown gets to the bigs.

Chris Carter from the Astros. Even though he just got traded, the Astros aren't afraid to trade anyone if they get a young player in return.

Other guys I can think of are Kyle Blanks, Mike Carp, Billy Butler (in division so he would be harder to obtain), Mark Reynolds if the orioles are out of contention

Arizona wouldn't trade Goldschmidt and it would take quite a bit to get him even if they did.

Got ya, First guy I could think of. I'd definitely agree with Reynolds, I've pried him away to replace Huff in '12. Not sure what his stats are this year but after the second half he had last year I can't imagine them being worse.

Reynolds is always gonna get you HR's at the expense of all those K's. Although if the OP feels like he can handle Dunn and Reynolds in the same lineup, Reynolds wouldn't be a bad placeholder

Oh I forgot about that.. And Reynolds played 1st base for the majority of last year and is a bad fielder at 3B, I don't think the Indians put him there. Chisenhall will probably come up to play 3B and Reynolds will play 1B or DH depending on whether Carlos Santana catches or not

Thanks for the replies guys, you gave some great ideas. I think I'm gonna go with Kyle Blanks, i like his bat and completely forgot he played first. I can platoon him with Dunn depending on his defense. I'll see if i cant throw in Alexi Amarista in the deal cause i'm high on him. Do yall think Charles Leesman & Tyler Saladino are enough to get them, if not, maybe just Blanks.

I am doing a mock up Twins franchise and am debating on to trade Mauer or not, I prob won't and just move him to first.
