Sorry for the dumb question, but how are you guys including more than three guys in a trade from one team? Is there something I am missing?

On a different note.....is there a way for me to check team finances for the other teams in franchise mode? Every time I try and tade anything I get a team can't afford message....I don't want to turn finances off but it is pretty frustrating

I was about to post this very question. I've been trying to figure it out. I figure you'd have to use multiple trades, but I can't figure out how to make that work.

The in game trade logic is pretty terrible; you can basically get any player you want. This thread is usually reserved for realistic trades for both teams. The Pirates would never trade McCutchen, so either way your trade is not realistic.

You do multiple trades. The game doesn't allow for more than 3 players per team to be traded at once.

Trade 3 for the player(s) you want, then trade the rest for the teams worst prospect and cut him.

Not just realistic. Fairness as well. We understand that certain players will not be traded IRL, but if you want the guy bad enough, we can certainly find out a good value for him.

Guys, guys, guys, it's really not that difficult to understand!

Let's take an example. Say you want to trade for Giancarlo Stanton from Miami, and you have to give up 5 stud A prospects to make it somewhat realistic. This is how you would do that in 2 separate transactions...

TRANSACTION 1
Send: Prospects 1, 2, and 3 to MIA
Receive: Giancarlo (don't call me Mike) Stanton

TRANSACTION 2
Send: Prospects 4 and 5 to MIA
Receive: Miami's WORST prospect (lowest potential and rating that you can find..this is up to YOUR discretion who to select, but a minor league scrub, made-up player is best)

Then you release the crappy player you acquired from TRANSACTION 2 to keep your roster as it should be.

This has the effect of working around the 3 player max thing by splitting it up into 2 deals. The reason the scrub is added to TRANSACTION 2 is because you can't trade for nothing in return, so you make it as minimally impactful as you can to both clubs.

Also, if the CPU trade logic does not accept either of these, then turn force trades on, at least for this deal. It's not cheap to do if the trade you're going for has been vetted by this thread or is deemed fair.

Hopefully that clears the issue up, but for some reason answering this question feels like playing Whack-a-Mole, it just keeps popping back up. Hopefully SCEA expands the number of players that can go in 1 deal so it's easier for people to deal with.

Obviously it's a good trade for you, in the sense that robbing a bank would be a good trade for the robber and not for the bank.

It's neither FAIR nor REALISTIC, which are the 2 main tenants of this thread. So, you can do what you'd like, it's your 'chise; but, I think I post for everyone here when I say that particular deal doesn't have this thread's blessing.

I will now insert an extraneous emoticon for comic relief.

Can do multi-team trades in NBA2K, so I don't see why The Show can't have that too...

I am looking to move Ellsbury at the end of Spring Training and let JBJ play full time in CF, what could I possibly get for Ells in return? or would it be best to let him accumulate some stats and make a deadline deal? willing to package him with Aceves or Bailey

Well, first off its not that realistic to trade right after spring. I would wait 'til the deadline to trade him as value would be higher if he does good. Second, I would recommend using the spreadsheet, which the link is in my signature and in the OP.

Hypothetical: Arizona's in contention at the deadline. Would they trade Stryker Trahan?

Also, what's everyone's opinion on Porcello? I have him at Low B, mid C, in the spreadsheet but I'd like to gather other opinions on that as well.
