You hit it on the noise with his contract. It would be very unlikely that the As would take on that contract. The Jays would have to eat a lot of that contract which is impossible in the show.

I don't know about his contract size but what if you took Colon from the A's? I'm assuming he's making a decent bit and he's old and they have plenty of young arms. Maybe Gose and Cabrera for Reddick and Colon? Again, Colon may have a small contract I'm not sure at the moment but that may work.

The purpose of this thread is to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism of others' trades, and for others to suggest potential trading options. However, know that if you post anything involving Harper/Strasburg/Stanton/etc, etc, then it won't be well received.

PLEASE BE SPECIFIC in what you are looking to acquire and who you are looking to give up. Statistics would be helpful in your posts.

Also, here's something Totte and I worked on. It's a full list of prospect values for every player on a 40 man roster in the MLB. If you'd like to use that in evaluating any trades you'd like to made, that would be awesome. Totte did an awesome job in that. Use CTRL + F to search.

I look forward to another 500+ page thread in which to spend 99% of my summer in.
This is truly a great and well-thought-out spreadsheet.

The trade values look quite realistic. I took a look through and, though I'm not sure how the OSFM roster project will impact this list, I wanted to suggest some minor corrections to improve it further...(feel free to apply or disregard any/all of these):

AZ - Patrick Corbin is missing. I suggest his value be set in the Hi C to Hi C + Mid C range. He's an interesting arm that might be realistic to get. Martin Prado's comment should say "AZ" thinks highly of him. Though ATL no doubt still does. Wade Miley should be changed from RP to SP

ATL - Randall Delgado is now on the D'Backs. Jordan Walden just came in the Tommy Hanson trade, and J. Upton is new. Both probably should be considered unrealistic at this point (Upton I'd argue is untouchable).

BAL - I would strongly recommend Manny Machado be set to untouchable. The kid is as valuable as any young bat in the game not named Harper/Trout/Stanton. Also, Wilson Betemit needs a trade value--low C or mid-C seems appropriate.

BOS - Rubby de La Rosa was recently acquired and probably would be unrealistic to move due to his prospect-hood.

CLE - Rafael Perez is in camp with the Twins.

LAD - Matt Kemp's blurb should say "LAD" instead of LAA.

NYM - Matt Harvey is missing. I'd suggest Zack Wheeler as the nearest trade value comparable.

OAK - George Kottaras is now the back-up in KC. Also, I think Tommy Milone's "unrealistic" should be applied to Jed Lowrie instead.

PHI - Ryan Howard has no doubt been in decline, but even with his contract, I'd think low C might be underselling him a bit. I'd suggest something like Mid B + Low B perhaps.

SEA - Mike Carp is now with the Red Sox.

TB - Jake Odorizzi was also part of the Shields trade, and like Wil Myers, Odorizzi should probably be considered unrealistic.

TOR - Is Brandon Morrow still considered newly acquired?

WAS - I would strongly recommend a higher value for Anthony Rendon, bordering on untouchable. I'd say 1+ A's and a couple of other B/C would be needed.

In regards to the "just signed a contract, so it's unrealistic" theory, I think that should be qualified somewhat. If it's a multi-year deal, and/or big money--then certainly. However, teams bring in guys on 1-yr deals all the time (especially arb-guys) and flip them in the same season. So, for the 1-yr deal guys, I wouldn't necessarily consider a newly-signed contract a hold-up (at least not in my 'chise ).

Yeah, I was thinking about Lind or Rasmus included to replace Reddick's power. But, you could also consider that Reddick might be overvalued after last year (his OPS was only .768 despite 32 HRs) and Chris Young might not be that much of a drop-off. Admittedly, some ifs there.

Rasmus AND Gose? I just don't see AA giving both up for Reddick. They really don't need a lot of OF help with RF,CF,and maybe LF good. Maybe Gose and a high C could do the trick...

              The majority of these won't be fixed ATM because Totte can format better than I. However, some I don't want changed;

I've seen De La Rosa mentioned as a trade chip.

Howard's contract is HORRIBLE. Low C.

Rendon is injury prone as hell.

Right! Which is why I held off on adding in Rasmus or Lind...because then OAK would need to sweeten their side. In a vacuum, I'd consider Gose for Reddick or Gose/Lind for Reddick fair.

For the OAK side, I'd say Seth Smith could play LF, Cespedes to RF, and Lind DHing. Gose would make Billy Beane happy too.

For TOR, they could DH the Melk Man and play Reddick in LF.

Chris Carter is already DH as he can't play D. Lind is too bad for Oakland. I think Gose and a high C pitcher should do it. This trade is best thought out with AC leading talks since he knows the Jays system best...

Colon actually is not very expensive these days, so this would see OAK taking on too much salary among other things. Colon has something like $3M guaranteed, but Melky is $16M over 2 season. imo, I don't think OAK would do it money-wise and I don't know if TOR would have any interest in Colon.
