Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey, I'm the Twins and the season is only like 5 games in for me but I was wondering about a trade I had in mind. I like to keep things realistic and fair and I really like Dee Gordon. I feel like his value has dropped a lot and I was wondering what a fair trade would be to snatch him from the Dodgers?
Also does anyone have suggestions for young Shortstops (26 and under) that have potential and are attainable. I know thats pretty rare, just testing the waters. I have a good amount of trade chips.
I see the spreadsheet says Gordon is worth a high B, low B, and high C.
So would something like Oswaldo Arcia, Max Kepler, and Joe Benson work? (Very high B, Mid-low B, and high C)Last edited by MattGarza13; 04-12-2013, 04:42 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok I pulled off that massive 3 team deal w/ Rockies/Mariners, and I am 7 games (1 month) into the season (playing 52 game schedule). I took the advise given to me here on the forum and took Saunders/Fister but kept Ackey over Seager and made the deal. Fister is currently my SU man but may get to close if Wilson blows another save and Saunders is my 4th OF. I am 6-1 currently and the team is rolling. Last year my team started 4-3 in the 1st month of the season so this is definitely looking like a good move early on. Lawrie is putting up MVP numbers with the Mariners and VMart is also having a great season with Colorado. Mariners are 5-2, and Rockies 4-3 in the first month so both teams playing well after the trade.
Rosario has 2HR 3RBI batting .340 in 7 games, while Ackley is batting a whopping .424 with 2 RBI and a few runs batting 9th and playing great defense. Reyes and Ackley already have most turned double plays in the first 7 games and look great. Peguero who was a big part of the deal for me is currently demoted to a bench role due to the return of Encarnacion from injury. Peguero was supposed to be the DH but Luke Scott who I signed in the offseason for a Bat off the bench is cleaning up in 7 games batting .333 with 2HR, 5RBI so I have to keep him in the lineup lol.
Thanks for the help and advise here guys this thread is amazingComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hopefully I didn't miss the answer, but are the Low/Mid/High levels of each potential letter grade more or less up to user judgement?
I'm curious, as I am looking ahead to some potential down the road deals with my Rangers squad, and came up with one for David Price. If and only if the Rays are struggling at the AS break (and considering the Rays likely won't be able to afford to re-sign him regardless), i've been brainstorming some deals. I see on the chart he is listed as being worth 2 mid A's and 1 high A. Would a deal consisting of Andrus (who I consider a high A), Olt (mid A), and Holland (mid A) sound reasonable? Olt is an A, though i'm not sure if he's be considered a mid A, and he's also 24, which is slightly older than the prospects that would likely be included in a potential deal. Holland is the other question mark, as he's not really a prospect any more, but it may make a potential deal easier to swallow for the Rays, as he is under a cheap contract for I believe 5 years.
I'm never any good at judging fairness of deals. It seems OK to me, as Andrus is IMO a very high ceiling SS, but maybe i'm overvaluing my guys. Perhaps if it was Profar over Andrus, it would be more likely to be fair. Thoughts?Comment

I'm starting a Marlins franchise and I want to trade Giancarlo Stanton to begin a complete overhaul/rebuilding of the organization.
Is there a package that could work out between the Marlins and Reds where Stanton goes to Cincinnati and Billy Hamilton ends up in Miami?
If not, who could potential suitors be that could help stock the Marlins farm system?

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
ok so I'm 29-47 with the Padres and 14 games back. Decided to put everyone on the trade block pretty much haha. Have had some really unreal offers. And by unreal I mean would never happen in real life.
Orioles offered me:
SP Kevin Gausman, 1B Nick Delmonico and SS Adrian Marin
for RP Joe Thatcher haha
Also,
Phillies offered me
RF Dominic Brown for Clayton RichardComment

Stanton could wind up on the Rangers, Cardinals, or Mariners, most realistically."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

I always feel like i'm ripping off the CPU, so it's nice to see a couple thumbs up as far as the deal goes. It all depends on whether or not both myself and the Rays would be in a position for a deal however, so we'll have to wait and see.Comment

It would actually be me receiving Price and dealing away Andrus and company.

Well, that's what the thread is for lol. Actually, now that I think about it, why are you giving them Olt when they have Longo? Give them Alfaro + Perez/Ramirez instead."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Andrus or Profar would work in that deal, and I think you could get a better pitcher than Holland, but he works as well.
Hamilton + Stephenson + Cingrani + Travieso + Mesoraco or someone. It's not very real though because Cincy's OF is just fine.
Stanton could wind up on the Rangers, Cardinals, or Mariners, most realistically.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That is true. I figured they could run Olt out there at 1B to replace Luke Scott, as Olt should be an upgrade over the long haul.
I'll look into the other packages you've listed. Tampa is currently in 1st place in the East through the first month, so if that sticks, a potential deal involving Price won't happen until the offseason, if at all.Comment

Tavares + Miller + Piscotty + Jenkins.
Walker + Zunino + Paxton + Franklin + Capps.
