Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So I'm in the 2013-2014 offseason in my rangers franchise and I'm ready to move Olt to an everyday starter and shed Beltre and his 23mil contract... Question is, what big market teams would be willing to take that on (if any), I was thinking the Yankees given that ARod is all but done and Youk probably won't be resigned... I would even take on ARods 4mil a year contract and let him sit in AAA for the rest of his career if that helps (as a way of eating some salary so to speak)... Beltre is coming off a .307/30HR/108RBI season but is now 34 and will begin to regress before his contract is up (3 years left)...

Beltre to Yankees for SP Michael Pineda, CF Slade Heathcoat (and ARod if necessary)

    Thoughts??? Any other possibilities...

If you haven't got force trades on it will be hard to help because the CPU's logic isn't the same as ours... Have you thought if moving Plouffe back to SS which makes room for Sano at third???

        Freddy Galvis from the Phillies?

Edit: or Everth Cabrera from the Padres?

No worries, lol. Each 'chise is in it's own world anyway. I just feel obligated to chime in when the Cubs are involved.

Problem is Gattis and O'Flaherty are key pieces of the team right now. And Niemann isn't really an upgrade over Beachy/Minor/Maholm/Hudson/Teheran.

Currently Pedro Florimon is the best in the organization at 62 ovr, there are no decent prospects, and no player close to MLB ready.

A couple qualifiers: I'm 14-17 and .5 games out of 1st in the division, and Justin Morneau is having a ridiculously good year for me so I think he's off the table. The overall feel of the team right now is things are rounding into surprising form after a terrible start. I'd like a SS that can play in the majors, doesn't have to be stellar, just a bit of an upgrade over Florimon. I would be more willing to trade pitching at this point than a fielder.
What kind of SS do you like? A speedy guy? Someone with power?

          Dee Gordon was already mentioned.

What about Everth Cabrera, Clint Barmes, Tyler Pastornicky, or Ruben Tejada? Those are some of the more obtainable guys, I think. they'd come fairly cheap too.

Reunite Beltre with the DODGERS!! They have no salary cap and you wouldn't need to take a contact back like ARoid's.

Now what you could get in return is tougher....

          You don't need Dee Gordon.

Yasiel Puig off limits (realism anyway).

Maybe Zach Lee could be had? Chris Reed is another nice pitching prospect. Onelki Garcia?

Joc Pederson could be the heir apparent to David Murphy in LF.

Corey Seager could battle Olt for 3B, and if Olt loses Olt could play 1st.

Tim Federowicz might be a decent stopgap catcher for you until Alfaro is ready (unless you're partial to A.J./Geo platoon, blech).

Paco Rodriguez if you want a lefty reliever? Kenley Jansen can probably be had as well. Lots of possibilities.

Hutchison is (rightfully so) about a tier 6 B in the rosters I'm using.

Would they want a pitcher? Someone close? I guess Chad Jenkins or Deck McGuire could work.

Plouffe is such a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SS I don't think that that's an option. Plus, all indications from what I've read is that Sano profiles more in RF.

A lot of good names mentioned. At 19 I don't think it's time to bring Sano up. Still haven't been able to come up with a package the cpu AI will accept for any fo these guys. Damn. Also, several of the players mentioned are on the DL right now.

I'm into 2014 as the Pirates. I signed Jason Kubel in the outfield. Needed more pop.

I'm looking to trade Tabata or Marte, what kind of SS or pitching prospect can I expect in return?

Bleh, that sucks. Just keep trying to form a package, I guess.

For Tabata? Not much. For Marte? Take your pick of the litter, pretty much.

So early May in my 'chise two CPU teams proposed the trade of Jacob Turner and Chad Qualls to the Rockies (3 GB of the Dodgers) for Trevor Story, Drew Pomeranz and Joe Gardner.

What do you guys think of it? I'm real iffy on it and not sure if I should let it go thru. The Rockies starting pitching and bullpen has struggled, and I would think they would love to get Turner but I don't know much about Pomeranz.

Got offered a trade from the Brew crew that I wanted to run by you guys too.

Marlins give Steve Cishek CP (91 ovr. B pot. 26 yo.)

Brewers give SP Johnny Hellweg (76 ovr. B pot. 24 yo.), CF Victor Roache (64 ovr. B pot. 21 yo.) ,and 1B Hunter Morris (73 ovr. B pot. 24 yo.)

Seems like a good haul for Cishek, but I'm worried it might be a little too good. Cishek is having a decent year (0-1 1.73 ERA 14-16 in save opportunities) and the Ax-man has struggled just a bit (1-0 4.09 ERA 19-24 in save opportunities). But I don't want to rip them off.

Alright so I'm in panic mode in my Brewers franchise. We've started out ok on the season, but in my last game Braun dislocated his shoulder and is going to be out for over a month. I'm trying to get someone who can immediately help me out in the OF and will be a good bat off the bench when Braun's back. I'm looking at Will Venable on the Padres and Drew Stubbs on the Indians. Who would I have to move to get one of these guys in a fair trade?

If you think that's a rip off, the CPU tried to sneak through a Trevor Story + Drew Pomeranz trade for Adam Lind.
