Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
JJ is not worth Lindor or Taillon. Maybe in his Cy young days but those were long ago. Plus, he's a rental so that further lessens his valueComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for Fair and realistic trade...
Any thoughts about Mark Buerhle for Mark Trumbo? Would I need to give LAA a prospect or MLB to even it up? ( Keeping in mind that Buerhle is no longer in my starting rotation).
Also like the idea of sending Buerhle back to the White Sox for a prospect or 2. Don't know the Chicago farm to well. Do they have any untouchables?Comment

Meh it's not a bad option
Once again next vote will decide but I'm assuming no

Can we shut down this Tallion nonsense please? He isn't going anywhere for JJ...not unless the Pirates GM is a moron and likes being taken advantage of in trades.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

And you didn't really need to add in that "nonsense" part imoLast edited by AC; 05-01-2013, 04:14 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
That's fair... any thoughts on a separate trade for Ryan Jackson?
EDIT: Ok, in the end, I traded Jackson and Browning back to the Cards for RP Lee Stoppelman.. so I ultimately traded Morales, Aumont and Linares for Rosenthal and StoppelmanLast edited by TGov; 05-01-2013, 04:09 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
No to Chicago but I really like the LA idea, fills a need for both even if all players involved kinda blow lol.[/QUOTE]
Not a fan of Trumbo either but he's a real upgrade over Mark DeRosa. Do you think LAA would make this trade? Do I need to add anything to even things out?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Cards really value Taveres.. I can maybe see Castro+ mid B to realistically get Taveres but you won't get Rosenthal or Adams along with itComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Missed this but that's 2-4 now I think so yeah. Granted, JJ's been quite good the past while aside from last first half, but I agree with the rental part. I was just basing mine off the Grienke package but where I went wrong was my Segura/Lindor comparison. I'm high on Segura so it kinda strayed my view.Last edited by AC; 05-01-2013, 04:16 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Cubs fan here, so take this with a grain of salt, but Starlin Castro is absolutely worth Oscar Taveras and then some. IMO, Castro might be the best SS in baseball 2-3 years from now. The guy's a hitting machine who will probably end up in the 20-25 HR range, while threatening .300+ every season. He can also steal 25 bases. So, we've got a 25/25 potential SS...and that's not worth a top prospect? Seems like you could have your pick of the litter for a guy like that.
Throw in his youth (22), his accomplishments (ROY votes, hits champ already), the positional adjustment, and the fact that the error numbers don't really tell the story of how much his defense is improving. Go ahead and try to find a player (not named Robin Yount) faster to 500 hits than Castro.
And if you don't believe me, look at the spreadsheet. Castro is mid A + high B + high B. Taveras is what an A? So, we're still looking for 2 B's to send to the Cubs...
Now where this trade breaks down is with realism. There isn't any realism. The Cubs and Cards aren't trading, even on a minor deal, and Castro would NEVER EVER EVER be sent to St. Louis.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT SUBJECT..
What's with the couple of guys who don't participate at all in this thread to help/contribute, but only come out of the woodwork to slam potential deals and tell people how unrealistic/stupid they are? I don't get that. There can be some of that, but if that's 100% of your contribution here, you're basically being a d!ck and needn't spend time here. And if you don't want to be a d!ck about it, try at least counter-proposing something so the person has something to work with or at least logically explaining your reasoning...not just prospect X would NOT be traded for player X...nuff said. This thread, in my opinion, is about feedback. Remember, not every poster has exhaustive knowledge of every player in the game. And I think the thread creator mentioned CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. It's not to show off how smart or more into realism you think you are. /end rantChicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
As for fairness, Arenado + Chacin + Story + Pomeranz
You could also look into a Pujols/CarGo swap as the main component of such a deal.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
