He's hitting even worse and I'm confident he'll clear waivers. Or I could bench him.

Martin has a .264 OBP, he is a hole. And I'd be giving them Arencibia as well, which would fill that hole.
It's still pretty early in the year though, right? I'm not sure an early season .264 OBP would scream for them to deal him.

What about Martin Maldonado from the Brewers? Maybe not for Lind, but...Also, the fact that they're in last might be a blessing in disguise. What about an Ackley+ trade for Lucroy? Lucroy's a underhyped stud. I've seen him destroy the Cubs in person several times.

EDIT: You could even take Rickie Weeks back if you wanted to for not much more.

Lucroy's pitch framing makes me warm and tingly inside. He's hitting alright.

The Brewers are being awkward in my dynasty. 5 games below 500 but they have a +5 run differential, good for an 87 win pace. Should we assume they're smart enough to realize that? The Cubs and Cards are doing alright/sucking but the Pirates and Reds are doing well. Especially the Cards, they're legit.

Lind + Ackley for Lucroy + K-Rod? I would suggest Weeks rather than K-Rod, but K-Rod has about the same contract and is playing HORRIBLY. I'd be willing to take on some contract.

Hmm, well the only problem to me is trading Lucroy is more of a "sell" move but getting Lind says "buy" to me. I don't know if you can wait any longer, but I might give them another 2 weeks to figure out which side of .500 they like better.

        I'd think something like:

Ackley + Cooper + Drabek (lol) for Lucroy + K-Rod would be fine if the Brewers are sellers--that's a decent amount of contract shedded for them plus a new 2B.

To add in Weeks in lieu of K-Rod, I'd consider adding a lower-ish top 20 prospect rather than Drabek. Tirado and McGuire are the guys you usually add.

I'm not making this trade now, this isn't an imminent move. Drabek is injured, can't trade him, and D-Coop is an FA. And I don't think Ackley is nearly enough for Lucroy.

And FTR, Tirado isn't a fringy guy. He's a stud waiting to break out imo.

AC John Baker and Ramon Hernandez would be cheap pick ups, oh, and Chris Nelson.

I have house rules, a set amount of moves to follow, so I'm looking to make as few moves as possible and I've used 2/3 trades and quite a few of my waiver pick ups. this is probably my last move.

WTNY, would you approve of an Arencibia + Izturis + Lind deal for Lucroy and K-Rod?

Arencibia would work well with Maldonado, Izturis could play a variety of places in the IF very well, and Lind is hitting extremely well and could force Aoki to the bench. Lucroy would be the main piece from their side, obviously, but contending teams have used MLB ready assets to gain other assets before, like the Rasmus trade. K-Rod being traded allows them the financial flexibility to go out an acquire other assets.

I think that is a solid trade. The Arencibia/Maldonado combo isn't too shabby of a replacement for Lucroy and they are also adding Lind, Izturis, and free up cap.

I'm not sure how great K-Rod is anymore, but I know the Brewers bullpen is complete garbage. That is the only thing I could think of that could be an issue. Maybe they would value something to add to their pen more than Izturis?

K-Rod is compounding the issue with his 16+ ERA. I would make them call up a decent pitcher. I could throw in Darren Oliver though.

Well in that case, I think you are doing more than enough, just taking him off their hands. I don't think it's necessary to throw Darren Oliver in.

Yeah, that's what I mean, his salary is equal to Weeks'.

So you give this the 100% realism/fairness stamp of approval?

I don't know...the last Izturis experiment the BrewCrew tried didn't really work out that well for them..

I'd take weeks to be honest. Seem like they want him gone and he's more useful to you if you need 2b over a old reliever.

It's not about what I need, this is what I don't want - it's basically eating cash and K-Rod isn't as useful as Weeks is. I'm taking a sunk cost.
