Either way, you want to deal him, correct?Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Speaking on Pastornicky would a trade with STL for Descalso straight up be fair? STL doesn't have Furcal and Kozma is out for 1-2 months.
I'm not at my ps at the moment but Pastor has been in AAA all year and Descalso is hitting somewhere around the .240 range.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Not really on topic, but I'll make it brief. We're about +2,000 posts up on the trade thread from this time last year.Even if subtracting every post that has Mike Olt, Starlin Castro, Tyler Colvin, Cargo, or PEDs that's a pretty large margin.

That's fine. Swapping two quad A middle infielders who are about the same age is no biggie either way. You have my blessing.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Me neither, but CKW11 wants to do it, so that's motive enough for me.
I figure Descalso's stats are a little bit better and Pastornicky is 3 years younger, so, meh? They're both dirt-cheap and will make nothing in arbitration. So idk.
I tend to err on the side of encouraging people to make deals when they're small ones. For larger deals, the stakes go up and the rules get more stringent. I couldn't live with myself if I encouraged someone to do a trade that ultimately made them give up on a 'chise!(not really, but still...)

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
More on that...I think Descalso is more of a 2B (could be useful to ATL if Uggla is sucking or traded) and Pastornicky is more SS (though not great by any stretch) and could be useful to STL with a rash of injuries at SS. That's my guess anyway.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The lack of incentive due to it really being a lateral move isn't enough for me to not bless the trade (double negative FOR. THE. WINNNNN), I just think it slightly knocks off the realism aspect."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Cards get a SS (not a very good one, but he's passable). I desperately need a SecondBaseman and an improvement on defense. And I feel like Descalso is a perfect fit for the team I'm trying to build.Comment

I spot 3 forms of the negative there. Your statement was even more genius than you realized! The lack of something (a negative) wasn't enough for you not to....lol. I like it.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

I don't think he's an upgrade on Kozma, but it's a fine trade atc."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ahhhhh I'm real big on realism and I really want Descalso. I took a gamble earlier in the season and traded Uggla to the O's for Brian Roberts. Roberts is struggling and only playing like 3 games a week.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I guess the question is...since Pastornicky can probably play 2B (SS have cross-functionality like that), has Descalso ever played SS for any length of time (maybe in the minors)? If it's possible to just flip positions for them, the trade might not be needed (though may not be possible in the Show).Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
