Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So I finally decided to run with Seattle instead of Cleveland...they have a good, young, promising line-up and although it's not perfect, I can easily live with the current roster, and not try to make any trades before the season starts.
...or so I thought.
Three weeks in, and I lose Michael Saunders for 2 months+. The one position where I don't have depth (Guttierez is fine, but that leaves me with Morse/Ibanez/Bay for the other two spots). I'm already playing Morse at RF, and I'm gonna give Ibanez/Bay a shot for right now, but if you could suggest good (and relatively cheap to acquire) outfielders I should keep an eye on in the upcoming weeks, that would be great.
I'm looking for a Saunders-type of player. Someone I can put pretty much anywhere in the line-up, with good speed, good defense and somewhat decent bat. Morse's defense scares me, so if it's someone I could eventually keep in the outfield when Saunders comes back, that would be ideal.
Some guys you could plug in for Saunders:
Hmmm. Alejandro De Aza (White Sox), Lorenzo Cain (Royals), Nolan Reimold (O's), Matt Joyce (Rays), Will Venable (Padres), Nate Schierholtz (Cubs), Logan Schafer (Brewers), Travis Snider (Pirates), Justin Ruggiano (Marlins), John Mayberry Jr. (Phillies)
Is there a doctor in the house?
Ummm, Davis ok. Bourjos, probably not. GOMEZ!!!!!Lol, leading the league in WAR is hardly an injury sub type 4th OF.
Rosario has been traded too unfortunately because I like this deal.
I have looked at the cubs and they could really use a pitcher.
Maybe Lyles to the cubs for Ronald Torreyes (2B
Low B), Eduardo Sanchez(mid B RP), SP Dillon Maples 22 yrs old (mid B)
I could also throw in Josh Fields (mid B RP) if need be but I hope Lyles is worth this
Not enough from the Cubs. Vogelbach would be a nice add, but for Lyles, there would have to be at least 1 other piece.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

OK, well I am a HUGE irrational Ronald Torreyes fan and HATED that they traded him for bonus money, but you are fleecing yourself here. The Cubs would love to have a young, cheap Lyles-type pitcher. And, in return, you are asking for a waiver pickup, a guy dealt for bonus money, and a high draft pick who has shown absolutely NOTHING so far in pro ball except he has an incredible propensity to get hurt. You can ask for more.Comment

Congrats on finding your team! That's always step 1.

Not sure what I could offer in return. (SP) H.Iwakuma seems to be the only "valuable" player on my 25-man roster I'd be willing to let go right now (having a hard time with his pitching motion, and I wouldn't mind bringing up Paxton so that I could have a lefty in my rotation). But that's unrealistic according to the spreadsheet.
In terms of young players (B potential or higher): (SP) T.Pike, (SP) L.Gohara, (SP) E.Diaz, (2B) T.Lopes, (3B) T.Kivlehan, (SS) C.Taylor and (RF) J.Morban. The others I'd rather keep.
Do you see any fit ?Comment

Thanks ! I already had a couple of those names in my list. Right now, I'd say I'm most interested by T.Snider (PIT), B.Gardner (NYY) and M.Joyce (TB)...

Iwakuma's having a break out year, so his '13 attributes probably won't reflect that unless you have current rosters. Plus you don't like pitching with him, so Iwakuma for Snider and another piece makes sense. You'd want to figure out what else to get back.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Well I like Rodriguez's velocity and he was an all star last year(year 2). I need more depth in the bullpen also so could I just add him to the deal you just said?Comment

I kind of like the Iwakuma to PIT for Snider+

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Can someone who plays 2k *dramatic camera pan to WTNY* PM me with instructions on prospect equivalencies throughout our game?
Like 5 star = high A, 4 1/2 = mid A, etc. No clue what the 2k equivalents are but could use a PM.
Also, bluejaysfan65, I'ma PM you later with some stuff I'd like you to add to the OP in the other thread, including the above."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
