I thought you traded Lawrie for Cano and Arencibia for Trumbo? Anyways, I can see Twins needing a third baseman, although they realistically wouldn't do it... Maybe San Diego if you do a trade in which you get Headley back. Phillies definitely need a third baseman.

As for Arencibia, the Angels, Cubs, White Sox, Marlins (not realistic) all need catchers.

I can see the deal to San Diego and Philly happening (not realistically, but virtually).

I was looking at Arizona who has a rotation of:
      Medlan (96 ovr)
      Cahill (91 ovr)
      Hudson (91 ovr)
      McCarthy (90 ovr)
      Skaggs (90 ovr)

I want to get Delgado since they don't need him because of their stellar rotation. I also want to get Prado who has only 2 yrs left of his contract and he is 31.

I will offer Jake Elmore 77 ovr mid B, Brandon Barnes 76 ovr low B, SS Josh Denson 58 ovr mid A
      For Delgado and Prado
You could probably also get someone like Tony Campana or Tony Sipp back depending on how the players in the original deal are doing.

Ya this is just for a fun one I do in spare time. I edited post above talking about the players I wanted...I know WTNY had a solid 3 team deal where Mauer, Plouffe, Ruf came to Toronto. Any way to get all 3 from Minny (Morneau/Mauer/Plouffe)?...I would give a lot AKA Nolin, Gose, Sierra, Loup, JP were mentioned in his thread and he got Ruf instead so maybe I would need to add.

What would I need to give SD in a deal surrounding Headley/Lawrie? I also like Forsythe, Quentin, Grandal, Cashner, Stults,

Well its real early in the year and I need a pitcher. I think Prado is hitting .260. I am playing a game now so not sure Delgados stats. I like the idea of adding campana.

Interested in 3B, C, SP as position needs

Some players I would like (not sure whos available or not):
            - Pujols, Hamilton
            - Prado, Parra, Kubel
            - Sandoval
            - Headley, Quentin, Forsythe
            - Utley, Young, Ruiz
            - Cargo
            - Mauer, Morneau, Plouffe

Any possible deals for Lawrie here to any of the teams mentioned above for said players? Most intriguing to me is Minnesota to get Mauer/Plouffe/MAYBE Morneau, or to the Padres in a deal for Headley and maybe a pitcher since they are sellers as well. The Utley/Ruiz/Young combo come third

Why is it that every Blue Jay Franchise I see, the person playing hates JP and a lot of times Lawrie. Both are highly rated and seem to put up good/to great stats in my Franchise.. It it you don't like them as people, or don't like their batting stance in the game or what?

I am not a huge Toronto follower so I was just curious?

As far as the deals go, I could see Minnesota maybe doing a Morneau and Ploufee deal for those 2, then moving Maurer to 1st, but don't really see the Twins dealing the face of their franchise. Obviously the Twins would have to kick in something to go with them to get both Lawrie and JP..

Do you need any bullpen help? I could see Perkins as a good addition to either give up a lefty to setup Janssen or move Janssen to a setup role and use Perkins as your closer...

I don't really see San Diego or San Francisco's need for JP, but the Phillies deal could be a option with Ruiz being the key guy you are taking, but again why would you want Ruiz and Utley unless you were in a Win now mode. Both are old and only give you 1 or 2 years left.

Arizona might be a option but they have Montero and Davidson who are both rated almost as high.

I could see the Dodgers, WhiteSox, Angels, Astros, Cubs, Reds and maybe the Brewers. But depending on what part of the season, you are in, it might not make sense if some of those teams are out of it.

Hate em cause JP well his attitude, he cant hit, or catch it seems. Lawrie I find is a sook. He is always hurt for little pansy reasons and he is like someone with ADHD at the plate. His attitude also sucks

Id rather grab Mauer than Morneau...would like 100% fair, somewhat realistic.

The Brewers intrigue me as well. They are selling and have Aram, Lohse, Gallardo, Hart, and Weeks who I like.

Not really looking for bullpen help, mainly starters, but since you can never have to much bullpen I wouldnt be opposed

Probably not too good of a suggestion, but how about this:

                Headley
                Eric Stults
                Logan Forsythe

                for

                Brett Lawrie
                J.A. Happ
                Neil Wagner

Also, I don't think that Grandal's going anywhere in the next 3 or 4 years.

Definitely intriguing...have the one written down. Here are the deals I am down to and need help filling some blanks. Like who I get in bats from MInny better but like to get a starter which is why MIL is intriguing:

1.a) Mauer, Plouffe, Morneau OR Perkins for Lawrie, JP, INSERT PROSPECTS HERE!

1.b) A.Ramirez, Weeks, Gallardo for Lawrie, JP, INSERT PROSPECTS HERE!

                  2) Headley, Stults, Forsythe for Lawrie, Happ, Wagner

Would love some help with my adds. Also if anyone has another potential deal you can post that as well

                    77

The 82 and 77 overall are High A while the 91 and 80 are Mid A and the 85 is a Low A.

For players with more than 3 values you do it in multiple trades. So with Headley you would do the 3 B prospects for Headley plus your C prospect for the Padres worst player essentially.
That makes sense for Headley. What I'm asking for regarding the overalls is whether there is a difference in trading a High B 45 overall versus a High B 85 overall.

Essentially, I'm looking to grab Michael Morse from the Mariners, and I'd like to trade as little as possible (without being completely ridiculous). I only discovered this spreadsheet today, which explains why 95% of my trades get rejected. I'll probably just have to play around with this later tonight to get a better idea.

                    Thanks for the insight!

The trade logic of the game is really upside down so you get the most out of the spreadsheet by playing with 30 team control

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

So I dealt Peavy to the Padres as they battle out the Diamondbacks for the NL Crown in 2014. I am at the deadline, so I trying to make deals for all the contenders..

With San Diego adding Peavy, I am looking a the D-Backs doing a deal with Philly for Cliff Lee.

With one of the key pieces going back to Philly being Randall Delgado (1-4 with a 4.91 ERA this season, 6-5 with a 4.12 ERA last season). M. Prado (.251 11 HR 44 RBI this year, .278 21 HR 85 last year), and JJ Putz (39 saves last year, but lost his closing job this season to B. Wilson. He is 0-4 with a 5.26 ERA)

I figure with Putz going, the Phillies can clear more payroll by dealing Papelbon (8 mil for 3 years vs Putz 3.5 mil for 2 years). Delgado gives them a future #3 behind Hamels and Halladay and Prado can play all over the diamond with Philly having holes almost everywhere.

Again as always looking for fair not realistic so much. Also another factor to consider though Lee has dropped and well he is still a (A) he is only rated a 75 and this year has just 4 wins with a 5.05 ERA, so hoping a change of divisions will help him, however because of those stats, almost seems like the D-Backs might be giving to much, especially with the salary.

Currently D. Hudson is the only Arizona SP with a winning record (11-2 1.99 ERA) Kennedy,McCarthy,Miley are all pitching .500 baseball but with ERA's under 4.00, and Cahill is 7-5 with a 3.87 ERA bouncing back and forth between the rotation and bullpen. However I have plans for him to be dealt. Thus the reason to not just make him the #5 for good.

and for more info A. Bradley is 6-9 with a 4.05 ERA and T. Skaggs is 8-7 with a 5.38 ERA in AAA.

you could just use my Mauer trade from my chise. AC, an admitted Jays fan, helped me put that together. No need to reinvent the wheel for the same package. Only thing is, depending on how late in the season and how the Twins are doing it might not be realistic. I waited to trade Mauer until the deadline in 2014 and the Twins were very awful. I haven't heard you mention this backup chise, so I assume you are still just starting out. If that's the case, and you want any degree of realism, don't trade Mauer.

The plus to doing my Mauer deal is you can keep Lawrie to deal for something else like Headley. Just don't trade Lawrie to the Brewers, lol

I was looking at Arizona who has a rotation of:
                                Medlan (96 ovr)
                                Cahill (91 ovr)
                                Hudson (91 ovr)
                                McCarthy (90 ovr)
                                Skaggs (90 ovr)

I want to get Delgado since they don't need him because of their stellar rotation. I also want to get Prado who has only 2 yrs left of his contract and he is 31.

I will offer Jake Elmore 77 ovr mid B, Brandon Barnes 76 ovr low B, SS Josh Denson 58 ovr mid A
                                For Delgado and Prado
If you're big on realism I'd probably swap Elmore with someone of equal value, I don't think the Dbacks want Elmore back.
