Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I just started one with the Reds. I used the rosters made by someone named Ryan and its titled like 150+ prospects. Anyway, I dealt Broxton and Bailey to Detroit for Brondon (?) and some SP who had an 'A' potential. I know have 3 SP's in AAA who are in the top 50. I use Choo in LF and brought up Hamilton to play CF. I signed Braden and K-Rod from FA as well. My starting 5 is Cueto (94), Latos (95, hate that he's higher then Cueto), Chapman (96), Braden and Leake. I'm gonna play it out and move some pitching for another big bat if things don't pan out.
And BTW, it is HELL opening up against the Angels. Their line-up is INSANE!Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
i also have a good bench with michael brantley and ptere bourjos as my L/R OFs
and garret jones as my back up 1b who is a lefty to duo with reynolds who is a righty power hitter with low contact, and when he goes into a slump etc.
with kurt suzuki as my backup catcher.
average bullpen with good starting pitching and good defense and some speedy guys and guys with good arms in my corner OF....
so im pretty much set across the board....i think im ranked 20th or so overall but my pitching is ranked top ten and my defense is #1 so i can make up for hitting with pitching and defense but so far my hitting is solid becaus ei go for L/R in game matchups that help out alot....Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I've got a really weird franchise going on with the Twins. Absolutely terrible year 1, average year 2, and now we're stacked going into year 3. So I guess that's realistic. My 4th round pick from year 1 progressed 42 points after a full season in the minors+spring training. He's my ace at 95 OVR, and I traded a bunch of my prospects+Glen Perkins for Tim Lincecum. And my minors are still loaded.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started a franchise with the Tribe. Probably only do a couple seasons before OSFM rosters.
The only trade I made before the season was SP Brett Meyers for SP Wei Yin Cheng and RP Pedro Strop.
Here is my lineup and statistics for Opening Day at the Blue Jays:
1) Bourn, CF 2-4
2) Brantley, LF 0-4, RBI
3) Swisher, RF 1-4
4) Reynolds, 1B 1-4, HR,
5) Kipnis, 2B 0-3
6) Chisenhall, 3B 1-3
7) Cabrera, SS 0-3
8) Santana, C 0-3, 3 SO
9) Aviles, DH 1-3, R, BB
Pitcher
Bauer 4.1 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO, 8.30 ERA
We lost to the Blue Jays 7-2. 2-2 game up until the 5th when the Jays got a 3 run shot from Adam Lind. I'm going to play one out of every 5 games for the season. I'll update periodically to let everyone know how the season is going.NFL: Packers

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
This is my 2nd year playing "MLB The Show" game (last season I was on MLB 12). In both years I played "Manage Only Mode" but last year unless I did something wrong from the get go, I was forced to play "MoM" in a franchise whereas this season in MLB 13 I am able to do it in "Season Mode". I am not interested in front office aspects of the game and 30 Spring Training games + 162 regular season games + playoffs (if I get there which this season will be a major feat) playing 9+ innings in slow play is enough of a time commitment. I don't need to do any more.
So while I do wish I had a 40 man roster in Spring Training, I am really only interested in the MLB players and no need to wait for these Operation Sports minor league rosters I hear of. So I have already started my 2013 Season as the manager of the Colorado Rockies and am in the early days of Spring Training trying to play 2 games a day in order to catch up to the real world calendar where I will then try to play each game on the same real world calendar date. Last year I cheated in my 2012 season as I took some top notch starting pitchers from other teams onto the Rockies (pitchers like Clayton Kershaw and Cole Hamels to name a few). But this year I vowed not to do the same thing. This year I will use the actually Rockies pitchers which will prove to be interesting. The real world Rockies team has good offense, but their pitching kind of bites and well the pitching for my MLB 13 Spring Training games has let me down on more than one occasion.
One last thing, this year in MLB 13 I believe the "Dugout" camera has been fixed/improved over MLB 12 and have been using it for the last three Spring Training games. However so far I have only ever been in the dugout on the left side of the field. I have played two home games and one road game using this "Dugout" camera view. Has anyone played with this view where they are also on the right side of the diamond?Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I'm only in June of my first season with the Nationals. I've been playing all of Stephen Strasburg's starts and going forward I'll be playing out road games against American League teams to utilize the DH.
We're currently in first place in the division thanks in large part to Strasburg's dominance, Adam LaRoche mashing the ball at an MVP level, and the bullpen pitching lights out. Gio Gonzalez has been the only other starter of note, while Dan Haren and Jordan Zimmermann have both struggled. Actually, come to think of it, Ross Detwiler's been solid in the rotation as well.Miami Dolphins | Washington Nationals | Baltimore OriolesComment

If someone could help out a Show rookie it would be appreciated - I'm in May in my Franchise and it still does not show minor league stats. At what point do they appear? Thanks.Comment
