I used to work field security for the Padres and got to know players pretty well from 97-99 so I've been a huge fan since. Even though we don't really spend much or have traditionally the bigger fan base, I'm hopeful Moorad and Hoyer can turn it around. Keep me posted on who to download rosters from and when. I have the game reserved so I'm good to go.

Re: Players for OS Full Minors
Surprised to see so many Padres representing!
Unfortunately, what's been said is true. The glut of talent for SD is going to be in High A this year (Lake Elsinore). That team will be most of the guys from Ft. Wayne last year--and they had the best winning percentage in all of baseball (including MLB) last season--MiLB's team of the year. Glad to see they'll at least be on the roster, albeit not playable in the game until the '11 season. In addition to the usual suspects on that list, be sure to include Zach Herr and Brad Brach--RP and CL, respectively.
A guy I'd like to see get some love is Matt Clark. He's flying under the prospect radar, but I think he'll have a chance to break out in AA (though the MWL is tough on hitters). He's definitely showing better #'s than Dykstra at the same position. Dykstra hasn't put it together yet, besides OBP.
Another sleeper pick for me is Lance Zawadzki. He hit well in the AFL. He's on most prospect lists, but I think he's a bit underrated. Probably better as a 2B than a SS. But I'd like to see him get some love, too.
Also...look for a possible position change for Darnell...maybe 2B or OF.Comment

Re: Players for OS Full Minors
I'm sure you're on this but here are some Rays propsects.
Hellickson
Jennings
Moore
Brignac (should be in game)
Colome
Beckham
Nevin Ashley
Luke Bailey
Aneury ROdriguez
Emeel Saleem
Jake McGee
Jose Lobaton
Sean Rodriguez (may be in game)
A list from baseball prospectusFive-Star ProspectsHope that helps!
1. Desmond Jennings, CF
2. Jeremy Hellickson, RHP
3. Wade Davis, RHP
4. Alex Colome, RHP
5. Matt Moore, LHP
Four-Star Prospects
6. Tim Beckham, SS
7. Reid Brignac, SS
Three-Star Prospects
8. Alex Torres, LHP
9. Nick Barnese, RHP
10. Wilking Rodriguez, RHP
11. Luke Bailey, C
Four More:
12. Todd Glaesmann, CF: The Rays’ third-round pick in '09 is an outfielder who's a bit athletic with plus power and good speed.
13. Kyle Lobstein, LHP: An over-slot signee from '08, Lobstein was impressive in his pro debut, but scouts saw more pitchability than stuff.
14. Jeff Malm, 1B: A bat-only pick who was dubbed by one scout as "a high school-equivalent of Brett Wallace."
15. Jake McGee, LHP: The power lefty struggled with both command and getting his velocity back during his brief return from Tommy John surgery.
Check out my Tampa Bay Buccaneers CFM Thread.
You too can be a 5* recruit at FSU.......

As far as the Twins , Adrian Salcedo, the one kid in the Twins minors who has #1 potential, (havent seen Kyle Gibson enough) and Max Kepler , the best player ever to come out of Europe..i know...i know that's like the best kid to come out of Antarctica as far as baseball goesComment

Re: Players for OS Full Minors
Could you possible list the Rays guys you are going to include? I'll make my own suggestions, but it'd be nice to know ahead of time what I'll be creating, if its even necessary. Thank you, by the way. The closer this gets to becoming a reality, the better I feel about it.Comment

Re: Players for OS Full Minors
Here are some of the players who are ignored by most "scouting services", but who are mostly just pure baseball players with a decent amount of potential who I am wondering about:
Kyle Russell (Dodgers) (Should definitely be included.)
Kyle McCulloch (White Sox)
Jon Jay (Cardinals) (Should definitely be included.)
Tommy Giles (Dodgers)
Dennis Raben (Mariners) (Should definitely be included.)
Blake Tekotte (Padres) (Should definitely be included.)
Ryan Jackson (Cardinals) (Should definitely be included.)
Jason Hagerty (Padres)
Dave DiNatale (Rockies)
Mark Sobolewski (Blue Jays)
Roger Tomas (Tigers)
Carlos Gutierrez (Twins) (Should definitely be included.)
Danny Figueroa (Orioles) (Should definitely be included.)
Paco Figueroa (Orioles)
Mitch Canham (Padres) (Should definitely be included.)
Dallas Buck (Reds) (Should definitely be included.)
Jonah Nickerson (Tigers)
Kevin Gunderson (Braves) (Should definitely be included.)
Darwin Barney (Cubs) (Should definitely be included.)
Joey Wong (Rockies) (Should definitely be included.)
Jorge Reyes (Padres) (Should definitely be included.)
Tony Thomas (Cubs) (Should definitely be included.)
Jason Stidham (Cardinals) (Should definitely be included.)
Josh Horton (A's)
Tim Fedroff (Indians) (Should definitely be included.)
Kyle Seager (Mariners)
Tim Federowicz (Red Sox) (Should definitely be included.)
Rob Wooten (Brewers)
Robert Woodard (Padres) (Should definitely be included.)
Brian Bogusevic (Astros)
Beau Mills (Indians) (Should definitely be included.)
Joe Savery (Phillies) (Should definitely be included.)
Do you know which of these players, if any of them, will be included? I think that most of these guys deserve to be included, but I can see why a few of them could be left off. As you can see, I labeled the players who I feel strongly about.
If you need them, I can give you detailed scouting reports on each of these players. Most of these players are all well known former college players to those who scouted or even just followed college baseball, so I'm pretty sure that there's probably a pretty decent amount of information on them that can be found easily online.Last edited by Jason_19; 02-27-2010, 11:30 AM.Comment
