    You'll have to keep us updated. I'd love to hear some stats from your team and around the league once you get a bit into it.

      I really enjoy playing with these AllTImeGrtz downloadable rosters. But I do have one ingame question about jersey numbers that are shown while on the field. Some are off by a digit so I go re-edit them to their proper jersey # then save it. But when I reload the rosters and restart my game some of the corrections I've done are not showning those players wearing their proper jersey# during the game.

      Example
      NYM- Dwight Gooden #17 changed & saved to #16 now shows up as #16
      NNY- Greg Nettles #13 changed & saved to #9 but still shows up #13
      NNY- Ron Guidry #50 changed & saved to #49 but still shows up #50

      Any Suggestions, Tips on how I can correct this?

      Thanks again,

          Probably due to others having the same jersey number, which of course is possible with an all time roster set like this. For example, Roger Maris also wore #9. So when you change Nettles' # it doesn't save because there already is a #9, so it defaults to the next available #, which in this case is #13. Not really a way around it, I'm afraid.

                    Re: All-Timers Teams

                    Knight and Joey already covered it and I'm pretty sure that's what's happening, because I corrected Don Mattingly's number like 3-4 times before I realized the Yankees retired his number, so I have no choice but to leave him as #24. All I can say is that I entered every player's actual number that they wore and I used '0' for older guys before they had numbers, which I believe has screwed up Lou Whitaker's number '1' on the Tigers because one of those guys defaulted to '1' and bumped Whitaker's to '4'. After I have finished up the Negro Leagues and International Teams, I'll try to go through and fix the ones I can, but there are a ton that are out of my hands, i. e. retired numbers, duplicate numbers, etc. I find that as I play a few more games, though, it doesn't really bother me as much as it did at first.

                    At some point, I want to work on stances and deliveries, too, but this is a very long process and I will probably still be working on it even after MLB '11 is released...can't believe it'll be in just a month and a half...where did the past year go?

                      MysterioMan007 I fully understand your take on the matter, plus I also know you want to continue doing work for MLB10 while MLB11 is upon us. I'm just not sure if I'm gonna be going back playing MLB10 as the primary game anymore. (Too much promise) Hopefully you can find the strength somehow to incorporate all of your hardwork and devoted time and develop this for MLB11.. (Although I know you may not want to take that task due to all the time consuming process you have already put in)

                      Regardless thanks for these MLB10 all time greats DL's, They surely are a blast to play with.. (Biggups2U!)

                        Re: All-Timers Teams

                        I'll be doing some work on MLB '11, but as for this roster set, I won't be doing again next year. I'll just play '10 when I want to use them. I can't see the game being that vastly different. Maybe in a few years, if they upgrade the CAP editing features, I'll do it again, but even then, with the player vault, it might be tempting to just piece it all together from the assorted CAPs...but at the same time, I like playing these and feeling the accomplishment of having done this on my own. I also think that if I hadn't started late and life hadn't gotten in the way around August, I would have finished these much, much sooner. I'll be editing today for probably most of the day, getting some FA's and extra teams done. I'm about 1/4 of the way through both of the Negro League and International Teams...skipping back and forth has made it a slow process, but I hope to knock both of them out this week...

                          Alright, I think I'm done for the day. I have gotten the pitching staff done for the International Team, as well as all of their catchers and their starting 1B while I'm still working on the pitching staff for the Negro Leagues and have done some position players as well. Also edited a few appearances, etc. Getting closer...

                            The retired and shared numbers is what is screwing it up.

                            Musial is #6, its retired, so hes 7. Hornsby has to take 5, so now Pujols moves to a different number.

                            One idea I had was to make the players jersey number the year of their best season.

                            Ozzie = 87
                            McGee = 85
                            Gibson = 68
                            Musial = 46

                            Theres positives and negatives for either situation. Not seeing iconic numbers on jerseys bothers me ... but not as much as having someone in MLB10 wear #3 for the NYY

                              Yeah, but other than some random minor leaguer, no one would wear #3, and even if they did, it would be an easy fix.

                              Every other game I have done rosters for allowed double numbers, and retired numbers to be used (well, I think MVP allowed double numbers, I can't remember for sure)... But Yogi Berra, and Bill Dickey both used number 8, and for realism sake, it is sure nice to be able to give them both that number.

                              The number issue is one of my biggest annoyances of this game. Luckily annoyances aren't really game breakers.
