    Re: All-Timers Teams

Hey Mysterio, since there is a possibility that you're doing this again for MLB '11, I have a few suggestions to make.

First, I think either Miguel Montero or Ryan Roberts should replace Kelly Johnson on the D-Backs All-Time 40-man roster; Johnson, who had been recently traded to the Blue Jays, actually spent more time with the Braves than with the D-Backs up to that point.

Also, I would replace Adam Dunn on the Expos/Nationals All-Time 40-man roster with either Mike Morse or Nick Johnson (since Dunn -- who now plays for the White Sox -- spent only two seasons with the Nats, compared to a better part of 8 seasons with the Reds).

    Just a thought, anyway.

Yeah, the rosters have been tinkered with a little since last year's release. I did take many of this year's players into account, especially for short-lived teams like the D-Backs, Rays, etc. Many of the changes you suggested have already been done, including Montero on the main roster of the D-Backs.

I moved Adam Dunn to the Reds AAA team months ago, actually, while Morse is on the AAA Washington Nationals team (and is probably on the 40-Man roster, but haven't worried about those at this point).

I really wasn't happy with the Kelly Johnson choice, either, but with the D-Backs short history, I don't have much to choose from. I like Roberts as well and they'll both be within the AAA team, but when I decide on the 40-Man rosters, I'd probably lean more towards Roberts, too. He's been fun to watch this year. I'm going to leave Johnson within the D-Backs organization, however, just because the Braves have had tons of 2B I'd like in their system over the years...as well as the aforementioned short tenure of the D-Backs.

          Re: All-Timers Teams

I don't have any ETA. I don't like to give them because A) Things never go as planned and B) I am working on them when I have a chance, not every day and rarely all day.

As it stands right now, I've exported/imported about every player I could find into the game. There are still several players to be created for each team, mostly minor leaguers. I still may make one more run through the player/roster vault and see if I can locate a few more, but I feel like the importing/exporting is done for the most part.

          What's left:

          1) I've decided to only replace a few of the veterans with their SCEA faces, players like Alex Rodriguez, Omar Vizquel, Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, etc. who are veterans past their primes and will get a younger version to replace them. Replacing every face with an original to make their "card" appear with their team seems a little silly to me, so I'm not going that far, but I'm going to make guys younger if they're over 30 or so.

          2) I have to create the players I could not locate. I always do equipment/stances simultaneously.

          3) Ratings. I'm transferring them in from last year's rosters and calculating the rest.

          4) Lineups/rotations for all 90 teams.

So, yeah, it'll be a while, but I'm inching closer every day. Stay tuned. I will post the rosters before I start to work on them. That way, people can alert me if I left anyone off before I work on them.

Probably not. It's a short list, but #2, creating the players that couldn't be located, will take a little time. I'm going through and plugging in SCEA faces today for as many teams as I can get to, but I also have to edit some of the imported CAPs...while a lot of them are very well done, there are some that don't even look like they were edited at all and aren't even close, so it's going to be a while because of this. Once #2 is finished, things should go much smoother.

Not much progress, I'm afraid. Been working tons lately and have been too tired to work on this, but I hope to get a little done this weekend. I've imported/exported all of the Diamondbacks and Braves and am working on the Orioles most recently, but like I said, not much progress...

I'll try to find an organized way to get the rosters up...

Its been a while since I booted up the show, and I only have the show 10. I remember seeing these rosters and really wanted them but forgot and now it seems I can't get online since this game is old now. Is there anywhere to find a file to download these for the show 10?

Joey was kind enough to upload them last year, so here's the link to download the last 40-Man version I did for MLB 10:

                          Re: All-Timers Teams

Alright, so I let this fall to the side a bit as my schedule picked up and I didn't have as much time to work on these, but I am going to plan on doing at least one franchise a day and hope to have this out within 30 days. We'll see.

Today, I worked for a few hours and I completed the Arizona Diamondbacks's ratings and appearances. In doing these, I had to give a few teams some charitable donations, meaning some of these guys might have been terrible while they were with the franchise, but I used their stats with other teams. It's only fair. The D-Backs don't have a rich history, having only been around since 1998. Even so, this is one of the weakest franchises on tap (along with the Rockies, Marlins, and Rays), but here's their complete organization from top to bottom:

                          MLB - Arizona Diamondbacks

                          Starting Rotation
                          Randy Johnson
                          Curt Schilling
                          Dan Haren
                          Brandon Webb
                          Daniel Hudson

                          Bullpen
                          Mike Morgan
                          Byung-Hyun Kim
                          Greg Swindell
                          Mike Koplove

Yeah, some terrible players made an all-time franchise, but the picks were slim for Arizona. I'll be doing the Atlanta Braves maybe tonight, but more than likely tomorrow. The forum hasn't been that active lately, so hope there's still some interest.

Yeah, some terrible players made an all-time franchise, but the picks were slim for Arizona. I'll be doing the Atlanta Braves maybe tonight, but more than likely tomorrow. The forum hasn't been that active lately, so hope there's still some interest.
Definite interest here. Very much looking forward to these!
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust 'em.

The Baltimore Orioles are next. They're in rough shape right now, so it might take a couple of days on them, but I'll try to do it in one day.
