Haha!!...Never thought of that...but it is ironic.
Revenge for that poor showing in the W.S. by my squad...with a manager currently managing them(poorly) who kicked a that year in the A.L.

    ....and yes...Joey...thank you.....you are a great man!(I think )

One more note about the transactions. I really think for a good recreation of 2000...you need to make at least the "big" moves for the playoff teams.

I finished up the Astros last night at work and will begin on the Pirates.

ahh the 2000 Pirates such great memories.............when Jason Kendall actually hit more than one home run a year. Brian Giles was our best player..........and we soon traded Aramis Ramirez for Bobby Hill and not much else...ugh. Also had Bronson Arroyo who we waived and went on to have 6 double digit win seasons and that was just the beginning of the natural disaster that was the Pirates in the 2000's

            Why?...What's the difference?
Is this some sort of strange way to tell me to "hurry up"?

I LOVE it that they are in. So good that teams that once struggled are competing(see Cincy as well)...especially with Mauer sticking in Minny, when he could have cashed in with the Evil Empire.

Just a little thing I saw last night in my sim of a season(after playing the Pirates vs. Astros to test out the Bucs)...

The league leaders....Frank Thomas went berserk on the A.L. hitting .353 with 64 HOMERS! I hadn't seen that many homers in a season in a while. Troy Glaus was second with 51. Sammy had 53 in the N.L.
The A.L. batting average leader was Erstad at .365....Nomar at .356....Jeter...355 then Thomas at .353.
In the N.L. Helton .360....Alou at .357....Castillo at .350...then a "big" drop off to Bonds at .325(there were three....I think Cirillo and Alfonzo(who also went nuts with homers at 44 or 42!).

University of Minnesota also moved outdoors; they have a real nice stadium for football. I'd love to see the Vikings head back outdoors. They made 4 Super Bowls (lost them all) when they played outdoors and have yet to make the SB since moving into the Metrodome.

To follow up on the other posts, the Mets' season wasn't over Opening Day. They were actually in the race heading into the All-Star break, but that 2-9 road trip (where they were shut out 4 or 5 times) killed them.

It's funny b/c since moving out to CO I have become a Rockies fan and going back through the schedules, the Rockies also went 2-9 on an 11-game road trip the same time as the Mets. The Rox at least rebounded from that but that trip really set them back.

Mid-market teams like the Twins and Rockies are fun to root for. They play exciting baseball and the front offices make smart moves, both with building up the farm system and bringing in veteran talent to act as mentors while still being able to play quality ball.

Here is the set with the Astros and Bucs completed.

This leaves just FOUR! teams to go!

At work for a couple....gotta get in a Classic team and then I'm back on these.

I'll also start tweaking a little now that all the teams are falling into place.

LOL, C'mon knight, I doubt he meant it like that. I guess its the fact that since you are so close, people are just on edge. Its like when you have to use the restroom, the closer you get to your destination the more intense it gets LOL. I appreciate what you have done (and I know others have as well) and will wait until after the world series if that's what it takes. Thanks Knight.

Glad to see that the set is almost done Knight. It was hard to believe Pedro was so dominant back in the day. Talk about a 1.74 ERA in 29 starts that year. Yikes! If I am correct, he had a memorable pitchers duel aganist Clemens on ESPN. The game was 0-0 until the top of the 9th, where Trot Nixon hit a 2-run HR. Yanks got to Pedro in the 9th loading the bases, but got out of the jam. It had to be one of my favorite games from their rivalry.Great job with these Knight, I can't wait to get revenge on those Cardinals who knocked us out of the playoffs.
