That's like the entire AL West.

        Not really!
Some of those four teams already had some players done on them....
...and I'm into Cleveland already. I'll have their 25 starters done tonight, although with that 32 player pitching staff...that's merely a dent in this team

            Ha..yeah...didn't realize that.
What I want to know....with the Alomars....Ramirez and Fryman...how did Cleveland not WIN that division by 5 instead of losing it by 5?

How did you like the Buccos?

...and I got in the starting 25 of Cleveland....FYI for those following.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 2000 Season Replay-A Subway Series

Now that we're getting close, I'm focusing in on the teams...and the individual stats(especially the offensive stats...they are easier to control).
I played a late season game with the Indians vs. the White Sox(the first game of their last series) and when the ticker came up with the league leaders in Batting Average I saw that Helton was the N.L. leader batting .373.

When I finished the season two games later, he must have hit a rough patch, but he was still the N.L. leader at .368

Here is how the N.L. looked
              Batting Average

              Helton - .368
              Alou - .355
              Guerroro - .349
              Bonds - .338
              Kent - .335
              Sheffield -.335
              Castillo - .330
              Hammonds - .328
              Cirillo - .328
              Piazza - .325

              Homeruns

              Bagwell -54
              Helton -52
              Sosa -50
              Hidalgo -48
              Guerrero -48
              Sheffield - 44
              Bonds -44
              Edmonds -42
              Griffey -40
              Piazza -40

I didn't note the A.L. leaders, but it looks like all the right guys are there, so that's big positive.

I'll have to look at the pitching stats and note them in my next sim.

Now....I really hope guys take the time to make the trades ....at least the big ones in this replay season.
For instance....I simmed the season without making any trades...and the Yankees finished 8 games behind Boston(Toronto was 2nd ...5 games back)..
I then did the sim again and on June 29th(my birthday! ) I made the trade with Cleveland for David Justice. Granted at that time in this sim the Yankees were 2 games back of Toronto ....but they won the East this time by 6 games. Of course every time you sim....there can be any number of crazy things happen...but sometimes it's just that one or two players that make the difference for realism.

Re: Turn Back the Clock: 2000 Season Replay-A Subway Series

Wow. Griffey finished with exactly 40, just like in real life that season.

and I went to check out some of the stats of the other players you listed...

Helton's average is almost dead on. (4 points off). Sosa's homers are spot on. Piazza's homers are off by 2 and his average is off by 1 point. Sheffield's numbers are very close to his actual 2000 season. Moises Alou's average is perfect.

Great job with the ratings, Knight!

                  Two questions:

Do you have a list of the transactions that we can make once the roster is complete? Because I would do them if i knew what they were.

And what does the free agent pool and minor rosters look like? Are there any time specific players in there whatsoever, or just main roster guys? I don't remember off the top of my head but I'm guessing at the start of a season there would be some name guys in the free agents yet to be signed.

Knight (or anyone that's currently using these rosters),

what motion is used for Darryl Kile? I can't decide on one. I'm currently using Nate Robertson

There will be a list that you will be able to download and copy. I'm still thinking of the best way to do this(easiest) for me.

There will be no players in the FA pool. Anyone who was signed from the FA pool during that season starts on the first team he was on. As I've stated from the start...EVERY player who played even 1/3 of an inning on ANY MLB team is in this set. So there are players on the minor league teams. You will be able to tell which real players played(current players I mean)...as those that weren't will be severely stunted in regards to attributes and most likely in AA. If a player is a created player with a full name....in either AAA or AA he played in 2000. If a fake player has just a first initial for his first name...he's not a 2000 player.

                      st0rm;

I guessed on Kile. I'm not sure what I gave him.

That is a great idea because I would have ended up using the fake players thinking they were real players.

Damn dude with all of the hard work and effort you put into this it is amazing how quick you get these done. It seriously has not taken you that long to complete these. I know if I decided to do something like this it would probabally take at least 5 months. I know I would love to make a 1991 roster but I just don't have the time to do it. I give you big props for doing stuff like this. Its pretty freaking cool and it keeps the game fresh when you can play with other teams and players that aren't already on the game. Once again thanks and it should be really fun to start a season once all the teams are completed.

I would have already been done, quite some time ago actually, except I've been mixing in the Classic Teams roster also, which I have only eight teams left on.
I finished the Cleveland Indians, so that leaves three teams to go with this one.

One thing I realized last night...I simmed an entire season and took the Mets into the playoffs vs. the Dodgers(who won the West by 1/2 game over S.F.)...is that with all these created players...PLAYOFF BEARDS!
