Just going by BA grades if your 65 or above are A's 100 percent. 60 or 55 a B. SO going by that to me Walker and Hultzen are A's , Paxton a B. I will say though Paxton's numbers remind me of Matt Moore's but we will see. Walker has a chance to be the next Dwight Gooden but with the makeup of Doc Halladay. He could be the #1 prospect next year overall

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
I'm still having an hard time debating whether or not Pimentel or Castillo should get the last B. Thoughts? Right now it's Pimentel but I'm not sure, lol.
The only face I've done is Victor Sanchez is took forever to find a picture off, I ended up having to use two venezuelan web sites. Haven't touched too many ratings other than the 2 japanese guys, and messed with the equipment/stances for a handful of guys.
I've got 7 open spots left for players but like 15 that I'd like to get in. Most of it depends on what the final 40-man roster looks like, which of the NRI's get picked up and how severe Adam Moore's injury is. (I've got 9 Catchers and only one at AAA, ideally you'd want 2-3 at AAA)Cosmetic Guides to the Show v2 Rosters

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
If either of those guys should be a B, I would think Pimintel deserves the nod. Tough call, but I would feel more comfortable with him at B potential than C.
If you guys haven't seen, this is a super encouraging article for M's fans

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
Tell you what Erasmo Ramirez looked good last night against Arizona's A team. All of the big 4 looked good. Amazing that you trade Pineda and Campos and you STILL have that kind of depth. Erasmo I guess is projected as a back end of the rotation , innings eater so a C fits him. Carter Capps could be Addison Reed in a year. High 90's fastball and nasty slider. I would put him as a reliever only because with his windup I have to figure the M's will switch him over this year.Comment

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
This is how I see it.. If Hultzen is an "A" then Paxton has to be as well. He is probably an A- to Hultzen's A. While Hultzen is the safer bet because of poise, command and a superior changeup, Paxton has a better fastball and breaking ball.
Saw that someone wanted Catricala ranked a "C". Fooey on that. The guy is far and away the best hitter in the system. If he was even an average defender anywhere on the field, he would be earmarked for an "A". Ask any prospect follower why Cat didn't make BA's top 100 is because they think he doesn't have a position. But the bat plays in the bigs - right now. ProspectInsiderdotcom even has Catricala ranked ahead of Nick Franklin. Legit bat.
Other than that, the lists look pretty solid. Good work guys.
As far as stances go.. I've only played a few games and even though they changed Guti's stance this year, its still off. I still think John Jaso's stance is a perfect fit for Franklin. In turn, Jaso's stance isn't any good for Jaso (lol). I can't remember but I think I use one of the generic open crouched stances with a quick bat waggle. Saunders has a good shot break camp with the team because Guti is hurt again. Word is he changed his stance again so who knows what that looks like. Haven't seen a game this spring yet. Carp's stance is set wrong again I changed that one for sure. Again, can't remember the generic stance I use. I think it used to be Trot Nixon's old stance back in '09.
Haven't changed much else yet. Not as disappointed as some in Ackley's stance. Its close. Can't wait til we get a good Iwakuma and Kawasaki. FTR, I think Kawasaki makes it to opening day.Last edited by thr33niL; 03-11-2012, 12:13 PM.Comment

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
IMO, our big three pitching prospects (Hultzen, Walker and Paxton) are all deserving of A potentials. No question in my mind about it. Paxton excites the hell out of me and might be the best of the bunch. Kid has amazing stuff. I think Hultzen could easily be an ace. Not many lefties with his command and heat. He sits 92-96 and does it consistently, with very good command. Walker is an 'A' and while I love the hype, he's the least deserving of an A, IMO... Just because he's a bit young - which really is no reason at all.
That's it, though. As far as 'A' potentials go, those are the only three.
Scouts have compared Walker to Bob Gibson and Dwight Gooden.. I think he is easily the best of the group.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,

Re: 2012 OSFM: Seattle Mariners
I can't see Iwakuma any higher than a D. At 30 or 31 years old with average stuff, this ceiling isn't very high.
Kawasaki has to be a D as well... kid just cannot hit.
I want to make an argument for Stephen Pryor and Carter Capps to be B's. Pryor is drawing rave reviews from absolutely every site I've read and Capps is flying through the system for being drafted so recently. He is certainly the closer of the future.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,
