I'm still trying to figure out why there was so much animosity towards me making a usable roster that should be done in a couple of weeks? Not a big fan of insults, and bickering about a video game. The only reason I decided to do this was because nobody else was picking up the slack. From what I read, Sublime was done after he made about 20 D-Backs. He then moved on to making the Michael Jordan's and Deion Sander's of the world, and players we already had. Scooter is still churning out guys left and right but I didn't see any of them being added. A few others guys were chipping in a little here and there also.

I know Bedwards is trying to finish school, and I'm sure he's got more important thing to worry about right now. I didn't want to bug him about the lack of progress. The bottom line for me was getting the thing done. It wasn't getting done.

Now if people want to finish a 40 man roster, I'll be happy to add on to everything that I've collected. Once my summer starts, I should be able to do add between 20-30 guys a day. If you guys want, I won't post a 25 man roster, and keep it until a 40 man was finished.

i dont think its animosity directed at you, more so the suprise of the lack of communication that has/was been going on and how suprising it was that no one was talking about what needed to be done or was being done

I also stopped making specific players because as far as i knew, the rest was being covered and i didnt want to make an duplicated, apparently I was however.

hopefully w/ you taking the lead on the 25 man will allow for some continuity, and then allow everyone to finish the 40 man afterwards

I like your idea of a 25 man roster to start then evolve into a 40 man roster.

I need to let everyone know where I'm at with my contribution.

I have completed 264 classic players so far and I only need 136 to complete the following 16 "Classic Teams" I'm 2/3rds of the way there:

14-27 players completed for each team in RED:

"16 OLD CLASSIC TEAMS"

Orioles...Red Sox...Yankees...White Sox...Indians...Tigers...Twins...Athletics...
Braves...Phillies...Cubs...Reds...Pirates...
Cardinals...Dodgers...Giants...

So it confuses me a little when drsublime says he will assign teams.


Here is what I will do I will continue to pump out my best effort
with the goal to complete my "16 classic teams" that focus on and around classic players from the beginning of baseball to the 80's but my main focus is the 50's 60's 70's.
PJ and dr. can take what they want from my vault. All I ask is to have PJ add attributes to all my players.

At a later date when these rosters (25 man - 40 man) are available I would like to add all 16 Classic teams as a unit "Classic Roster" with mainly the 50's and 60's as my focus.

This addition wouldn't take me long to complete and would offer something for us "mature" type guys.

This adjusted roster would include the work of my talented teammates pjsnell10 and drsublime.
So their work on the expansion teams would stay intact.

These 16 teams have been my focus for 5 years.

Just keep doing what you guys are doing and if it's OK I will add my "Classic Teams" later as another option. This would keep my teams together and make me happy.

pj please let me know if you are willing to do the attributes on my classic players that are in my vault under "BigKlu" and 136 players I will add to complete the Classic Roster...

bedwardsroy said he would work on my classic players but I haven't heard from him. As far as I know there is a possibility that many of my classic players attributes could be done. Please check with bedwardsroy. We don't want you to do duplicates.

I have a two part question: what scale are you using to create the attributes and are those attributes based on their career stats or best individual season?

Hey guys not sure if it could be of use to any of you, but I've been compiling my own private roster for the past 2 months using many players from this roster as well as some hidden gems I found in other random rosters in the vault. Its no where near as complete as what you guys are creating...and it doesn't have EVERY player...just my own personal preferences for each team.

However I DID take quite a bit of time working on attributes and stats and I feel they are pretty realistic. I can upload it to the vault if you wish...might be a couple guys on there you can export if it saves anyone time and work. Again I take no credit with creation...just lots of attribute editing.

Just a heads up: My Rickey Henderson is on the vault (delayed upload due to not downloading the patches). There are two versions on there, a 1989 (A's) and a 1999 (Mets). The stats are based upon the OSFM chart and Rickey's production in those respective seasons.

I uploaded a work-in-progress roster called "40Man All Time Greats" last night. It contains a compilation of SCEA players, players I downloaded from the vault and possibly altered, and my own player creations. I'm not going to list everyone's players that I downloaded from the vault but I did grab players uploaded to the vault by bigklu, pjsnell, mars, and drsublime.

ARI, ATL, BAL, BOS, CHC, CWS, CLE, CIN, COL, DET and HOU are pretty much done. The rest of the teams have many of the all time great players on them but more player creations need to be done. When finished each franchise will have between 55 and 80 players on it. The players on each roster are loosely based on career war values for that player while playing for that franchise.

Here's a breakdown of what's in it so far and what it will be when finished.

SCEA players I consider part of the all time greats for a franchise: 327
Created players: 1064
Players still to create: 540
Total all time great players when completed: 1931

If anyone wants to use any or all of this roster feel free to help yourself and do what you'd like with it. If it doesn't add any value to the 25 or 40 man roster efforts here then that's fine too. If you do download this roster and don't like the team a player was placed on or how they are rated or what their face looks like then feel feel to not use it because I don't care 8).

I've been scouring the vault for rosters that have solid work on the players we need. I've been grabbing a bunch from Mars, and two other ones who I can't remember posted them. If the face needed work, I've been quickly giving them a solid face/proper equipment based on old pictures, and just "finishing them". If the face somewhat resembled the player, I left it alone. I'm only making changes if they're way off. As soon as I've finished them, I've checked them off of the list.

One of the problems we had was that we had up to three different versions of the same guy, all were solid, but for this project, it's a waste of time. I'll try to get a list up soon of whats been completed. If the guy is finished, just skip him. Once the roster is completed, then we can start switching in "our versions" or better versions of "specific players". Let's just finish if first.

-I''ve also been asked to post a list for formulas for hitters and pitchers as soon as I can.

For those of you that haven't done this kind of thing
1. Go to baseballreference.com
2. Pick the player, click on the "splits" (near his stats), hit "career"
3. hit view splits to be per 162 games or 650 PA's
4 Find "platoon splits", and then plug in the formula

For pitchers
Just go to 162 game average (at the bottom of the stats)
Plug in the formula

I'll post it soon.

If everyone did this it would speed things up quite a bit.
