Online Franchise with these rosters would be something!

90-man rosters will be really fun: those years were sort of transitional... you still had stars of the 80's hanging around and the stars of the 90's were young, with more in the minors...

I just finished putting in the Red Sox... I think they will have Nomar in Class-A. Expos will have Vlad, Braves will have Chipper Jones, Yankees will have Jeter etc....

Don't even bother putting in that Jeter kid, he won't amount to much of a player.

Re: Porting Knight's 1994 set to MLB 14

Just for the hell of it, I did the research for the Expos 90-Man roster and it would end up being something like this..

        https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...1cbGEaTj0/edit

Now, the Expos were notably good at developing talent, which is why if you look at this, you'll see that EVERY PLAYER on their 90-Man roster had or eventually would play in the majors. Cup of tea for some, but they made it.

Now, this won't be how it is in the game, because I'll need to create some career MiLB guys so that all positions have at least one player (especially in AA...). But the fringe guys I cut from 90-Man rosters for this reason will end up in either the Free Agents list, or an expension team.

Speaking of which, how about we put the 1995 draftees on the expansion teams? I really want to use those 180 roster spots...

          0S 94 NL+AL East is up!

I'll take the weekend off again. AL Central next week!

Did a little fantasy draft for fun... my batting order.

          1: O. Smith (SS)
          2: W. Boggs (3B)
          3: P. Molitor (1B)
          4: J. Carter (RF)
          5: R. Klesko (LF)
          6: W. McGee (DH)
          7: R. Lankford (CF)
          8: R. Sandberg (2B)
          9: D. Fletcher (C)

Most of them may be old, but the star power here is through the roof.

So, you will be filling in the names in the minors, instead of generic 1B, etc? I would like to do a road to the show with these rosters. I'm about 40, so that is when I would have played, had I played. Thank you, I look forward to using these.

And I'm back. Something I forgot to say, unless I missed some, the "Fielders with 9 years of service have wacky 2nd positions and can play almost everywhere" bug is fixed.

To answer a question, yes the plan is to have full 90-man rosters for every team when I'm done. I think making new players will go faster than copying over the ones from Knight's mod because I don't have to copy anything down, just look up stats on the charts and at worse, make some cross multiplications. So I should be able to quicken the pace once I'm through those last 9 AL teams.

Had family in town so unfortunately didn't get a chance to work on the file this weekend as planned.....I have one team left to do in the NL East (Marlins) but most likely won't get back to it until Friday

                        Don't worry about it :-)

White Sox done, 8 teams left to do... Also added in Vladimir Guerrero to see how I would do adding in some prospects, I think he came out great.

At age 19, in Class-A, 2 years away from making his MLB debut and 4 years away before he became an every day player, he's got 69 OV. That would be good enough to start on a couple teams at RF. Of course, he's one of the best players of his generation so his rise will be meteoric. Since you'll have money the real Expos didn't have, you'll get to keep all three of Walker, Guerrero and Grissom, play Guerrero at LF and have Walker protecting Vlad on your batting order.

Really looking at that 90-man roster, playing as the Expos in Franchise will almost be cheating. For many positions, you'll have all-star level BENCH PLAYERS.

Excited to see how these rosters will play out, especially with my Yankees! Donnie possibly getting his ring at last, progression of Jeet/Andy/Mo/Jorge ... I do wonder if Donnie retires and we'll be able to pull off the trade for Tino

Phil, you're a saint for this

Yes....a quest I have undertaken with the 87 set in The Show 11 (only to not even make it to the post season) Knights 94 on 12 only to lose in the ALCS to the mighty Go Go White Sox and then on 13 with PJ's 88 set only to lose in the ALCS to the very tough Houton Astros (I Know I know a NL team in 88...but what can you do?).

So 1994 again.....but this time in franchise mode......man...Phil your a saint indeed!!!

Yeah that's going to be one heck of a team to run a franchise with

One thing I noticed with progression, as a test I edited 10 players that were 69 ovr guys with C potential and turned them into A potential (99 ovr).......did a 7 year sim and only 2 of the players I edited reached their full potential getting up to 96 ovr at around 26 or 27 years of age.

6 players only reached in the 80s before peaking, and 2 of the players peaked at 77-79 ovr

I like the randomness of it, even if you edit a guy to 99 potential doesn't necessarily mean he'll reach it or even come close.

That's going to bring a lot of unpredicatbility to our franchises which is intriguing

Oh yeah, no guarantees, but that's real good because there was no guarantee that a guy like Guerrero would have panned out either, I'll even go as far as saying that he could have been even better had he not 1) Played so many years at Olympic Stadium, which back then was pretty much concrete with a thin layer of cheap green carpet on top of it, and hurt himself and 2) Played on a better team on which he wasn't the only offensive weapon, which for his Montreal time he was, pretty much.

By the way, the game is funny in how obvious it is in its attempt to screw you in trade offers. In my current sim, the Rangers (2014 team, still) are trying to get Vlad. Their offer?

                                Mitch Moreland.

Yeah, Texas, I'm really thinking about it. Add a buggy whip, a Van Poppel rookie card and a couple Beta tapes and I'm all over this.
