So, is it fair to say you noticed a difference in pitching? You said about 30 pitches had a mind of their own. That is what I am finding. I know it is only one game, but how do you compare HOF to AllStar?

ya there was a big difference in pitching. I like all star A LOT better than HOF. HOF is okay, just seemed teh CPU got what they needed when they needed it, and i couldnt do anything. i didnt see much difference between all star and HOF except i couldnt hit my spots when pitching and i couldnt hit. i am getting pretty good stats on ALL STAR right now, with the exception of HRs. I am only hitting them with Bay and LaRoche. I dont want to be hitting 20 -30 HRs a year with everyone on my team but i would like a few HRs by some other players. I am thinking about going back down to VET cause i did hit some with my non power guys, but i hit a ton with my power guys. I also was gettign too many hits, but i think maybe lowering plate awarenss might help, who knows(on VET i play with awareness at -2). i really cant decide, but i do know i wont be playing HOF anytime soon, lol.

Well, as long as everyone is praising Pared for his sliders, I figure I better pay my dues as well. I thought, why not give 'em a shot? About a month into my franchise, I just played my first game with them, and I must say, I just played the GREATEST game I have EVER had! Chicago White Sox @ Detroit (me) played at Comerica Park. Nate Robertson vs. Jon Garland. Robertson had a perfect game up until the Top of 5, where I threw a change-up to Joe Crede (a Tiger killer...in real-life & this game) and Crede took him yard. Sox up 1-0 up until the 6th where the Sox scored again. Carlos Guillen triples in bottom of the 6th, with 1 out. The sstruggling Sheffield comes to the plate. Down in the count 0-2, workes it back full 3-2, strikes out swinging on a fastball outside. Ordonez then flies out to right to end the inning. Bottom of 8th, I bat around and Inge scores. Nobody on, 2 out, Ordonez to the plate again...and what next? Solo Shot to tie the game! I got 1-2-3 in the Top of 9 with Andrew Miller on the mound. Pudge Rodriguez leads off with a single. Now Sean Casey at the plate. Casey 0-3 in the game. I decide to pinch hit for him with Marcus Thames. Casey has been struggling hitting just above .200 on the season. Thames works the count 2-2. Bobby Jenks throws a fast ball outside, and Thames takes him out of the park to right field to end the game with a walk-off home run!!! INCREDIBLE!!

I'm glad so many can increase their enjoyment of a game because of slider sets. It's really why I keep doing what I do.

Great sliders Pared. Love the challenge. Are you guys using Classic Pitching? I find it more difficult and realistic than the meter.

Has someone tried out his and nemesis' sliders? If so, which do you find better? I've only tried out nemesis' on th PS3 and so far so good

Now you have a PS£ are you using default settings or do you have a new slider set ?

Contact shouldn't make much of a difference. Human plate vision is what you would want to raise... that is what is making the difference in the amount of hits you get...

Wait a sec, what does Human plate vision do? I thought that is only if you are simming or something. That affects your ability to get hits? Thanks

I just tried my first game with Pared's sliders, in HOF, classic pitching, Guess pitch off. Results:

CHISOX:
3 2B's by Erstad, Iguchi, Dye
4 HR's by Dye, Konerko, Crede, Uribe

O's:
0 2B's
3 HR's by Markakis, Hernandez, Mora

Pitching:
Whitesox:
5 k's 1 BB

O's:
6 k's 6 BB's

I was Baltimore. There just seems to be too much offense. I was using the best the Orioles have too. No doubles either by my team. Hum...i'll see how another game fairs.

Yup... love it. I have since gone back to Meter on the PS3 though. It's much easier to see the meter in HD.

I would NOT recommend using these for PS3. They help alleviate some issues of the PS2 and PSP version. The PS3, as far as I can tell, does not need much, if ANY, tweaking done to it.

It increases/decreases the size of your "hit zone."

It's funny seeing your line score as some would complain there wasn't enough offense with these settings. Again, make sure you're using these for PS2/PSP.

So will you be doing any slider tweaks for the ps3 ? I'm playing on default allstar at the moment and getting great results. However i'm sure there should be a couple of tweaks here and there.

Thanks for the help Pared, and yeah I'm on PS2. But if plate vision affects your "hit zone", then what is the difference between altering Contact and Plate vision? Thanks.

as of now, what are you playing on with the PS3 version, ALLstar/HOF? also have you made any tweaks yet?
