Guys...one thing I've learned from playing MANY, MANY games in this franchise(The Show)...is there is a GREAT deal of variability in this game. A guy who is rated pretty highly in POWER might not necessarily hit 30-40 homeruns every year. Same goes for a guy with middling contact..he might have a tremendous year and hit .300.

I think maybe you guys are getting a little too nutty with this....play some games take it for what it is...and TRY and have some fun.

Thats exactly right... People get too caught up in analyzing stats from one or two games. Its very hard to make any judment calls on someone's slider set or roster edit. Thats why the more input we get from people, the better off we are in nailing down some of the issues. 2 or 3 games of limited scoring doesn't mean there is something wrong Baseball is very streaky obviously, and like Knight said, there is a high degree of variability.

Knight have you experience the ALL STAR theory? I dont know if it was a fluke.. but it seems like the CPU is more potent on ALL STAR vs. HOF...for some reason. Check my post regarding my experience. lol. It was bizarre to say the least.

I haven't even changed my difficulty level.
I play on All-Star when I "play" my games. I'm absolutely atrocious at hitting
...so I figured HOF would be too much for me.

No, Power is at 12 for P1 and cpu, because I didn't see any homers when it was lower than 12.

This seems to be the consensus. All-Star it is! It is so nice to have a pool of knowledge to draw from. I love OS!

its very strange, some games i feel like geez i could throw the damn ball down the middle all day and not get hurt then the next one like last nite they hit three doubles in the first 3-4 innings, two gappers and one off the right field wall, the cpu offence is just a bit to inconsistent and could use a bit of a power bump, it wouldn't take a lot though.

If you want, test some games out using the revised sliders on the first page. Its for All Star difficulty too. One noticeable slider change is CPU Power is now 17.

It seems the higher you move the CPU Power slider, the more hits they get. Not necessarily, more distance in their hits. I played a few games and they didn't necessarily hit more HRs, but they definitely got more hits.

I am starting to think that Hit Quality slider is the probability of making contact (but not necessarily getting a base hit)...and I think the Power slider is having to do with actuality of getting a hit.

Kind of weird but who the heck knows.. I've seen crazier things.

Anyhow, I moved Human power down to 7 and CPU up to 17. I didnt hit anymore HRs than I did when I had it set at 11 and 13. Strange. At 7, I was still hitting rockets as I was with a setting of 11 or 13.

Geez, a man goes to sleep one night and wakes up to a whole new theory on playing the show. Gotta love this community, always trying to make the game better for everyone. I will give the revised sliders on *all-star*(don't know when the last time I played on that level) later today. Keep up the good work fellas.

With the updated rosters, I simmed a season last night and everything looked OK, except the stolen bases. There were 4 players over 100 SB and Figgins had 149 SBs. I guess that isn't much different than with the default rosters.

JT i dont think this is the way to go..
with the speed ration in your rosters, players already get gunned in the basepatchs way too much..theyre just too slow.

                              Hey JT got a question.

How did you decide how much to lower the players stats. I mean alot of them are MUCH better now but i mean you left guys like Iciro and Taveras (COL) exactly the same and i KNOW that they arent that fast. I hit a gap shot to deep CF in San Fran and both guys have now been standing in the balls landing spot before my guy could even get to 1st lol.

im not putting your work down because trust me its working awesome. Just think that some of those guys need to be fixed or they will just run all over

I lowered everyone's speed by approximately 30%. I am thinking 50% reduction is more in line now.
