What's the trick? Is there a certain release point that ensures accuracy? I also notice my pitchers engery burns up faster on classic.
Change your release point. I like to let the button go around the time my pitchers leg is all the way up, and then adjust from there. relese a little sooner to take a little off the fastball or hold it longer to get more break on curves and sliders. Don't hold it down all the way through the entire windup and delivery. You'll throw harder and faster but your accuracy will suffer and you'll drain your pitcher's energy.

also with energy down it doesnt matter much but watch your confidence its the killer lol.

Ps I was up 3-2 in the 8th and they were coming hard but I got out of it and they seemed to quit when I went up 6-2 kinda like real ball , whatever AI they have in this game its reallly good.
oh ok.. i knew confidence had somethign to do with it ..hmmm (OBVIOUS) hhaha

Nice pitching tips and alot of those things work well but remember they are still less effective with lesser pitchers .
Realistic but frustrating then throw in Confidence being low Mercy !!!

No meter is different as you can stop and choose your accuracy and power /break .
When I pitch classic I just choose my pitch EX inside fastball for a strike < I aim it more at the batter then when I release it I tap the button for more accuracy.
As I understood classic pitch tap for accuracy / hold for power .

These sliders need an adjustment for more balls thrown, or at least more balls thrown in 3-0 and 3-1 counts. 95% of the time I get a strike in those counts, and through 13 games I've only had two four-pitch walks (and no, it's not because I'm swinging wildly).

The CPU also fouls off WAY too many pitches, some innings are 20-30 pitches with just three hitters coming to the plate.

I dont disagree 100% with you but alot depends on confidence , batter and yes even the ump as I have seen many clear strikes be called balls with these sliders which I like.
I did have to throw 30+ pitches in 1 inning recently but when the smoke cleared Myers phil went 6 1/3 around 89 pitches.
                So go figure ???

Just played my 3rd game with these and I shut out the Cubs with Boof Bonzer from Minnesota. I won 2-0, preserved the shutout with a play at the plate in the 9th.

What kind of hit totals are you guys getting?

Im curious to hear what hit totals you guys are getting for your teams with the hit quality at 2? Im at 5 and Im needing to tone it down while lowring my homerun totals a little as well, more emphasis on lowering my batting average though.

I can't help you there. I used meter for the first week I had the game then switched to classic and haven't gone back.
Meter to me felt too robotic if you know what I mean.

Highest has been 15 and lowest has been 6. This is with the Marlins.

Runs have gone from 3 to 10, usually averaging about 6-7 per game.

After 14 games, my team is hitting .285 and is second or third in the league in HRs.

Sounds pretty good, Im the Dodgers and with this at 5 Im hitting .299 as a team through 42-43 games and I need to get it down since Im leading the majors in batting average as a team. Im going to give it a shot today or tonight sometime, hopefully it solves my problem.

After 15 games I am 28th in the league with a "anemic" .219 Batting Average. My Dodgers have only hit 8 HR's My team has no Power. A Jones is batting 113 no homers, no doubles, to make matters worse Furcal is leading the team with 2 homers and 10 rbi's. I am totally frustrated at this point. My run output is terrible and getting worse. Just had to vent after being swept by the last place Pirates. Peace!!!!

Where do you have your power slider at? Im playing with the Dodgers and had similar results until I raised my power to 13 (+3) and since then I was hitting more then I should be hitting. I lowered hit quality to 2 from 5 just the other game and am testing that out to see if my batting averages will come down but leave my power alone for the most part. If you raise power to 13 and you still cant get any homeruns then start raising the hit quality slider one click at a time until you get to where you want it, just be forwarned, with the power at 13 and the hit quality at 5 you will probably hit far too many homeruns.

On a side note, not very many people tend to believe me, but Im a firm believer that the wind effects homeruns as well, when I had this at 15 (+5) it seemed like every game was a launching pad, Ive since lowered it back down to 13 (+3) and its looking better so far but that could also be partly due to lowering the hit quality as well.
