Anyone here have any suggestions on 'Timing only hitting' slider adjustments for the demo? I'd love to hear em.

I would guess that rookie or whatever the lowest difficulty is, would have a timing only type of betting. I think thats how it was before...

I've played the demo at least 40 times on Legend difficulty and I'm not seeing line drives all over the place. I will be the first to acknowledge that every previous game in this series has featured way too many hard hit balls. In the final build, I would like to see a bit more blooper hits though. I have not messed with any of the batting sliders (nor any player or cpu sliders), I have only adjusted some of the global sliders and '09 just plays a fantastic game of baseball. The demo seriously blew me away because I have experienced the same problems as you have the last few years. I think with the new hitting system, almost all of the hitting problems have been fixed. I think the outfielder throwing is pretty realistic (I do lower the arm strength slider one notch). I would like to see more loft from the infielder throws. I just switched to using the High cam for fielding, and it does make hits and throws seem to be more on the line than with the Medium fielding cam. And, statistically, a batter is more likely to get a hit by hitting the ball on the ground than in the air (impossible last year as the IFs would vacuum up pretty much any ground ball).

My problem is that i cannot get a balance with slowing the spd of the hits and maintaining HR's. When i go to see live B-ball games, I purposely sit way up behind home plate b/c i like the fielding cam view. The high view here is the closest I get. However, the spd of the hit balls many times is definitely too fast on default settings. Also, I like to watch CPU games. For years I've been tinkering with these slider sets but it just doesn't work. The sad thing is that I really want it to work b/c this is a well made game. I hope that the ball trajectory/spd is addressed next year as it could use some tweaking. Also, in the past I have played demo and then purchased the game and even in the final build the same situation exists. Games like MVP, HH, Pro Yakyu have a more accurate ball spd imo.

Hi all, I am new to The Show, so pardon my question. Are all the sliders available for online games too? If I play a friend online, can we do whatever slider adjustments we want to? Thanks!

I don't think you can. You couldn't change sliders last year and I saw no mention of it in the Online Blog.

hey guys, curious to see how long till you get the game sliders up. I'm usually pretty good at the baseball games but i cant seem to hit the ball for my life lol and i can throw the pitch perfect get all the timing down right and it still doesnt go in the zone..is it me or is there a couple sliders i can adjust.

I actually like it that way. Causes more user walks etc.. Now if you're getting everything "Perfect" and you're way off the intended target then maybe adjust just a tad. But if you only missing a bit I would leave it alone. I think I personally (From what I'm hearing from most) will be just picking a level (Either Legend or AS) and lowering pitch speed (Eyes aren't what they used to be) and will be playing with that.

i totally agree with that but with CC i couldnt paint a corner for my life when in reallife he paints them pretty good..i also noticed it with burnett's curve, its maybe where i want it like 1 outta ever 4 tries it goes where i want it too. I like it more realistc with pitch count and walks but the control on location should be up a lil if theres a slider for that

I'm hearing a lot of complaining about hitting being impossible this year. Is there any truth to this or do some people suck??

Not that people "suck" but rather just need more practice with it. The swings are much faster in 09 and it took me a while to get it down in the demo. Plus there are a few threads with some great box scores etc... So it's all good.

Just wanna throw in my two cents here. I'll get to some basic sliders in a moment but first let me address CC not painting the corners... Its a video game! You have to be able to paint the corners its just not gonna happen on its own. Thats like saying I only hit 25 homers all year with a-rod, thats not totally realistic but hey CC's gonna have bad days + you gotta get better at the game... C'mon now!

Heres a base that I believe Nem will agree on although his will be a bit tougher I believe

HOF, LEGEND... With guess pitch, all zones OFF... Pitch ball marker OFF... Everything pretty much off

ALL human hitting sliders -3 clicks
Outfield speed -2 clicks
Reaction -5
Error sliders +1 click
Injury slider +1
Wind +1
Manager hook +2

I dunno what else.... I'm waiting for NEMESIS' batch

I've always reduced pitch speed as low as they will let me. I need the help. I just wish the Show would actually make the slider work better. It would be nice to say I'm not at the bottom of the rung.

I'm hitting just fine on All-Star with Guess Pitch off but I'm not hitting in the clutch. So I'll get 8-10 hits per game but maybe only one run to show for it.

I'm playing with the Jays so that might have something to do with it.

From my early observations it looks like the error frequency sliders might have to go up along with fielder reaction. Need to more games to tell but so far I haven't seen a single error and it seems like 3rd basemen espcially may be reacting to the ball a tad to late.

Right now though default All-Star plays pretty solid.

I'm seeing a lot of situations when errors are not being scored. They are clearly errors too! This might be more of a glitch though.
