    Im with Nem here.

Ive only just got the game today and plan to play a lot of exhibition games to see if i think anything needs tweaking, but from everything i read this game plays stellar out of the box so this really could be a year when little to no slider tweaks are needed, incredibly really.

Agreed. I think my pitching and plate discipline sucks right now - but I really like the game out of the box on Legend.

Without having to play a bunch of games, I knew one thing for sure, I wasn't seeing enough balls, I mean, way out of the zone balls, not borderline ones.

I have lowered 3 different CPU pitching sliders nearly to zero, or maybe at zero, and it has not hurt the CPU pitching at all, especially the top guys.

But, it has most certainly helped with seeing more 1st pitch balls and getting deeper into counts and drawing walks.

I would be more concerned about it affecting the bottom end of the rotation.

My exact concern as well, Nem. I'm going to play a series of exhibition games against #4 and #5 starters. I'll use my #4 and #5 as well.

But, for now, I'm really pleased.

Well, I think I'm happy with my settings.

I'm playing verse the Brewers, put Manny Parra on the mound for them (he's the #5 starter)

He's thrown plaenty strikes, as well as throwing strikes on 0-2 counts.

Great nesw is that he's also thrown enough balls to make me happy.

Out of the 1st 9 batters faced he threw 4 first pitch balls. That's still 5 first pitch strikes. So, I can't go back from zero. If anything, I wish I could go further left.

Your having the same problems I see with the CPU pitch control. I am going to give your settings a go.

I dropped CPU pitch control down 2 clicks and in my Mets vs. Rays game, Kazmir threw 100 pitches; 56 strikes, 44 balls. I drew 3 walks. Still lost 7-2 (Santana got tagged for 4 runs in the first and I never recovered) but was pleased to see Kazmir not throwing 90% strikes and actually walking some guys.

I dropped CPU pitch control, consistency, and strike frequency down 4 clicks.

                    No guess pitch
                    No ball marker
                    All star

                    COL 5 10 1
                    ARI 1 5 0

This was this first game i had more than 6 hits. I never scored more than 3 runs before this game either. I was getting really frustrated with the game but I believe a few more tweaks and i'll be where i wanna be. I started Garland for ARI who gave up 4 runs in 6 innings... They ended the game using 4 pitchers and a 59% amount of strikes.. I noticed less painting the corners because thats my biggest beef with the game. Its ok sometimes but not ALL THE TIME! Next i'm gonna up CPU pitching 1 click. I'll keep everyone posted

OH YEAH.... I'm really disappointed in Nemesis who said he would be working on sliders for 09' and now says he hasn't decided. I'm not saying all sliders need to be tweaked but some most definatly do... Fielder speed is a very obvious one!

I'm going to try dropping cpu strike frequency a little bit too and see what happens. I'm still facing mainly aces but I'm going to set the cpu lineup next game and start a season soon just so I can see some stuff.

After playing 6 games on legend and getting totally frustrated with my at bats, (losing wasn't the sourse of my frustration) I decided to go down to HOF.

It made a huge difference. I still lost but my at bats were far superior. I lowered the cpu pitch control, strike % and consistency and was able to layoff many more pitches and still get fooled enough to strikeout 8X.

I walked 5x and had 2 nice 3-2 counts where ball 4 was well off the plate as oppossed to the usual "too close to take pitches I was seeing at default"

Please keep us informed if you feel the lower rotation guys suffer more greatly from these adjusted sliders. If so, default maybe the great equalizer here.

HOF hopefully will be competative this year as I'm clearly not ready for legend yet.

Also, I walked 3 guys last night with human control at default so I'm not ready to lower this to zero as in past versions.

                        Nice find on the sliders.

That is the key nemesis. You need to play alot of games against different teams entire pitching rotations.

Sorry to disappoint you but I am not going to adjust everything for the sake of coming up with a set. It has to make sense and warrant a change. If something needs it I will post about it. Right now I am in the note taking process, just jotting down anything that shows up that could be a possible trend. It is not a race on who will get the sliders up first, well maybe to some.

Agree. For me so far on Legend mode I thinks it simply a matter of making sure player speeds are as accurate as can be as I'm set on everything else with no adjustments except for +1 on errors.
About 15-20 games in though and that may even still be too small a sample.
And of course everyone has thier own play style etc...

Don't drop it a little bit Rudy. Go all the way to zero for all 3 cpu pitch sliders. I tried incremental drops and nothing satisfied me but zero.

In fact, Nem's and my fears that the 4 and 5 starters may be too underpowered with it at zero, have been completey put to rest.

Set them all to zero and the game will be so much better. You will see more balls but the overall balance will not get out of whack. If anything, they still throw too many strikes:wink:
